The AV Exalted offhand reward, Tome of Shadow Force (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=19309), is an excellent, easily obtainable accompaniment to this fine dagger.

This weapon is a great weapon for warlocks, with the great stamina boost. This is not to say that it isn't good for other classes, but warlocks might receive the most benefit out of this. I know it is a quest item, so choose depending on class :P

I should add that this is a great tanking weapon. Don't be fooled by its appearance or the +spell damage/healing!

It has the great tank qualities of being fast, solid DPS and having +13 stamina.

I used it to MT bossess in ZG, AQ and MC quite successfully until I picked up my Quel'Serrar

This weapon is named after "Zan Shivsproket" of Ravenholdt. He's a gnome specialty engineer.

the ravenholdt one looks really cool, i wish i didnt need the shiv. but its reasonably easy to get, takes about 25-30 minutes to get to kurinaxx and slay him, not too long to kill venoxxis. good luck

With this and the +20dmg offhand you get from questline in Un'goro you get +13stam/+33dmg. Very good pre-MC gear for a warlock.

I'll never understand why Blizz is so stingy with intellect on +damage daggers/sword (Save for Sorcerous and Mageblade). It's only +13 damage. You couldn't give us at least +8int or something? I got this and I really want to use it but I am forced to stick with my Mind Carver since it only has 1 less damage and +8int.

Good for being a reward, but sucks even in comparison to drops from strat, scholo, brs or dm. And if you are good enough to farm Venoxis you can get the dagger which drops there. Or you manage the first bosses in the core and have a chance to get the sorcerous dagger. Either way, there are a bunch of nice main hand weapons with better gear and chances are very good that you already have one by the time you get to do this quest. this thing is only good for disenchanting imo.

Disregaring the proc, this is actually a GREAT tank weapon with the +13 stam and the fast speed (for rage generation).

I took the 2handed sword for high vendor money, without even taking a look at this dagger, which would have been nice for PvP.

The good thing about mage/swords and dagers is that u can easely switch yer offhands and still have the nice stats of the sword/dagger.

So just get a nice (mostly green) offhand with +int +spi for bossfights or something if u use the Darkmoon blue dragon.

But thats how i c it.

And cmmon. U only need to kill 2 bosses and everyone of the raid has guaranteed good "loot".

Almost every other class gets a sweet weapon, and Mages/Locks get screwed with this... They should have put a nice staff or something on here. This is just trash IMO. The stam is nice...but there is no int, no % spell crit, no mana/5sec, not enough +spell dam to get excited about...there's basically nothing to this dagger. As easy as this dagger is to get if you are in a guild that can run ZG and AQ20, it's only worth a Large Brilliant Shard to a Lock or Mage.

Pallies, Shammies, Druids and Priests get one of the best pre-MC, non-epic Hammers in the game. Pallies and Druids also get to choose Doomulus if they want damage. Hunters, Rogues, and Warriors get a choice between several SWEET weapons that can each be considered better than any other non-epic, pre-MC weapon again. On top of all that several of these weapons completely out date some of the crafted weapons available, especially considering they don't cost ANYTHING! (other than repair bills)

Just a load of crap for Mages and Locks IMO. Blizz did a great job for everyone else.
