Just thought I'd post that when choosing which dagger to mainhand versus offhand, make sure you look at the average damage. Not the speed or the top end damage. Of course, the dps and stats play a part in the decision as well. Some interesting information:
Perdition's Average Damage = 105
Harbinger's Average Damage = 104.5
Blessed Qiraji Pugio Average Damage = 103
Of these three, the Harbinger is actually the best MH when you include the extra dps and stats.
In PvP however, some might argue that Perdition's is better because it has the potential for a higher crit and thus higher burst damage, but it also has the potential for a lower crit than harbinger. Harbinger has the smaller range, with similar damage and better stats, and therefore gives a more consistent damage output.

With the change to weapon skill, this is the best off hand dagger, and 4th best main hand dagger in game (Kingsfall, Maexxna's Fang, and Death's Sting are all better mainhands). So if you have the chance, make sure to pick it up!

Agreed with everyone else, this is the best offhand dagger you can get, and luckily it drops fairly easy. Get one of these at all costs.

An amazing dagger, and it drops off trash mobs. See a lot of rogues using it for their Off-hand. The stats are always a great thing for an Off-hand weapon. Hope to see it drop soon..

Our guild was having a sight seeing tour in Nax. Other ppl were delivering their attunement materials, some had started clearing the trash. I think we had about 30 ppl in raid, a bit less inside the instance when raid leader linked this item to raid chat.

First they asked if we ahd dagger rogues there. (We didn't have). Then they asked other rogues if they wanted it and finally they were too confused to make up a point value for it. So we rolled. 3 of 4 rogues rolled and I still can't believe that I would have something as cool as this is.

PS. Note: 30 man clearable trash in Nax drops items with 1 lower item lvl than what C'thun weapons are. GG.

PPS. We have no HC guild. Killed Nef when AQ had been open for a month and have killed C'thun twice now. So yes, the trash is a joke (better that way tbh) and the loot is somewhat insane.

I feel the need to point out how amazingly good this dagger is. It is the both the best off-hand currently in the game, and the best main-hand pre Death's Sting.

Pre Death's Sting, the best main-hand was the Perdition's at 105 average damage. Indeed, its average damage was so high that we all could ignore its crappy proc and lack of stats and lug it all the way from Ragnaros to C'thun. The Qiraji Pugio, while a fantastic dagger, only had an average of 103. If you could get two of them you'd be better off than you were with a Perdition's, but having only one you should still have the darn Perd's in your main hand.

The Harbinger of Doom is 1.6 speed, a lot faster than the Perdition's. However, its damage average is also 105. Your backstabs contribution will be the same as it was with the Perdition's Blade, plus you get the benefit of all the stats on the weapon, superior list DPS, and faster speed for weapon buffs. This makes the Harbinger an amazing dagger for both hands and definitely worth picking up.

When comparing daggers to equip you have to do several things. Look at the daggers in pairs and look at each dagger solely in your main hand. The Dragonfang Blade alone in the main hand, for example, has an average damage of 99.5 but it also comes with 16 agility. I could consider adding that 16 agility as attack power and crit, so that its average damage would look like it were somewhere around 102.8. As its a backstab, normalize the contribution around 1.7 speed. You can also use some rough equivalency between attack power and crit or model it out based on your stats. To hit shouldn't count for specials. Pugio is 103 but with its stats its more like 107.6. But then remember that all those juicy stats affect both weapon positions, so if its between 3 or 4 daggers you have to do pairwise comparisons of what daggers bring in naked, what they bring in as the off-hand, and ideally how you can main hand a good weapon that also has stats.

That's all for backstab. An average combat dagger rogue will see their backstab make up 40 to 50% (rare) of their total damage with white damage being the rest. When using poisons, I've seen them make up between 5 and 10% of my damage so you need to consider faster weapons there.

Hopefully this will help, but you can follow the link to something I've found very useful when comparing gear. Go to http://www.savefile.com/projects/299694 and download the spreadsheets there, punch in different gear. Its math simply models the game so its quite accurate, more so than the handwaving done here.

Bottom line: pick up a Harbinger.

Would any of you guys take this instead of Pugio for off-hand if you planned on getting maexxna's fang or Death's Sting?

Very nice offhand dagger. Its basicly just a faster perditions blade with stats instead of a Chance on Hit proc. Average damage is 104.5 vs 105 for Perd. Much higher DPS, faster hits, fractionally smaller hits. And awsome stats vs crappy proc. Definately worth having, even to replace your Perd in main hand until you get C'Thun's dagger. Then switch it to your offhand.

Oh, I think i'm in love....This is a fantastic off hand weapon for a fury warrior. Also wouldn't be too shabby in the hands of a rogue either. :-P
