I got 2 medium leathers from a small locked chest that I fished in Menethil Harbor.

It drops off of Crystal Spine Basilisks in Stranglethorn Vale, but the chances might be small. <_>

Best results are with the skinning skill. Very profitable at the AH, just have to find high demand times. A stack (20) usually sell for 1g. I am most successful in skinning these at Duskwood from the NightBane Tainted One. Very easy cuz they're "only" lvl29.

on greymane i sell for 20s with a 40 silver buyout and it sells real well :)

Having a look at the drop rate od some of the creatures on here and I have noticed that some have a drop rate of 2k+. Young Stranglethorn Tiger 2910.29%.

Surely there can only be a 100% chance drop rate which means they drop it all the time.

Just a little confused as to how the percentages are worked out.

I think the best for farming Medium Leather is Northern Stranglethorn around Nessingwary's Camp and Lake Nazferiti.
The beasts are between 30 and 33 which is where you get the most Medium Leather dropping (about 70% to 75%).
You will get Heavy Leather also dropping (probably around 20%) and hides.
