Either its more random, or they've changed the location in the latest update. At least this is where I found the artifact now. Its up on the ledge.

Found mine at 32,51 up on a ledge.

It looks like an ancient greek vase, with a warrior on the front. =) It can be found right beside Sartooth or down on the ledge right behind him.

standing on it im at 36,42 its right behind the tree u pass at the start of the ramp on the sode of the cliff u ran up to get the quest, not the tree to the east :)

Found it 2 places, first was at 34/47 and the other was 33/46.

I am at 32.51. It is a large vase with a warrior on it. Hard to see from the ground. It's on the far right ledge (when looking from entrance) at the back of the excavation (please don't mind my spelling) site.

There's a ledge on the right side of the pit up on the mountainside. It looks like you can't get up there but there's a couple pieces of wood planks laying on the ground showing you the way up there. If you ever feel like it's not spawning just go up there. BTW it spawned again right after I looted it up there so it's possible that these things don't even have a respawn timer and they come back instantly.
