I sent my undead rogue to Ghok'kah in Dustwallow Marsh and camped him twice for 20 minutes. Nothing. Then logged-in just now and he had one.
My mage'll be very happy =)

If you are a tailor/enchanter, and have a friend that is an alchemist (or just buy the frost oil from the AH), I would definitely camp the NPC's for this recipe (hilsbrad foothills if you are alliance https://www.wowhead.com/classic/npc=2381, Dustwallow marsh for Horde https://www.wowhead.com/classic/npc=6567) If all else fails, buy it from AH

While the stats aren't that great for comparable level cloaks that can be found/quested for, the ability for an enchanter to make an item to readily DE for a large glowing shard is worth it.

If there is a limited supply, then the isn't a great probability that it will conveniently be for sale when you go there.

I found this recipe at the Southshore vendor today; convenient, since I was on my tailor alt at the time. Checked back a few more times, hoping for a second one to sell, but while I found a couple other neat recipes, I didn't see this one again.

Checked with the vendor every couple of minutes in Southshore and found it quickly.

I've checked the vendor in Brackenwall every hour for at least 7-8 hours.. is it on an extremely long spawn time or was I just extremely unlucky?

Got it on my 1st try. ofcourse it was 1:50am in the morning, but hey I got it. Bought for 13s50c from Micha Yance in South Shore tloc 49,55

Ya i bought this pattern in dustwallow for 15s, from tailoring supply vendor, then i resold it in AH for 2g.. gotta love nubs/lazy people.

My friend and I were going questing. He was flying to SS so I was going around SS in every building looking for quests. I found 2 of these at the guy in SS. I bought both, my friend was tailorer so I gave him 1, and sold other in AH for 3g 50s.

it was on sale in the AH for 5g, but luckily someone bought it before me.

so i checked on here, went to southshore, and it was right there. got it for 13s.

=) and, its only 10pm so must not be too high of a demand for em. also got a limited (1) supply of an enchant for a minor defense bracers.

I waited for 3 hours for this recipe between 1:30am and 4:30am server time. I checked every 1-3 minutes and carefully watched player traffic which was extremely light. In the first 40'ish minutes I did have a few players run and check the vendor in a way that it was likely they were looking for the recipe, but I was the only one who just sat and camped. It's possible someone sniped one in that first 40 minutes but extremely unlikely.

After that no on else approached the vendor until the 2 hour mark. Frustrated with little patience I begged him not to take the recipe if he saw it but he said he was just selling vendor trash. During his entire stay I constant rechecked the vendor, which was a few minutes. The likelihood of his sniping it without me seeing it is also extremely unlikely.

Then for the last hour literally no one else came by. I dutifully checked the stock every couple minutes, and it never showed up. At 3 hours and 14 minutes of waiting I had to stop and go to sleep (it's approaching 5am and yes I'm writing this as I'm still actively looking hoping the few minutes it takes to write this comment it'll show up). No dice.

By far my worst experience camping a limited stock recipe. I waited 1.5 hours for ghost dye. 3+ hours is just stupid. AH has two for 9g, I could have made 9g in 3 hours but I'm deep in the sunk cost fallacy at this point and I'm going to pay just 22 silver for this recipe or so help me.

Edit: Brushed my teeth and got ready for bed and logged back in for one last single check before climbing into bed and it was there, approximately 3.5 hours after I first checked and started camping the vendor.
