So, we forgot to use the agate and completed the quest anyway. Is there any other use for this thing?

As a priest.. i found the elementals highly helpful.. they are good for taking the hits :)

I believe you can finish this quest by simply collecting the items in the chests. Using this thing causes some elementals to be summoned which will help you fight but it also causes more ogres to come out.

Edit: People who don't use this while in a party or whatever will still have it in their bag and the NPC won't retrieve it when the quest is over. I'm assuming it's safe to destroy.

There is a pedistal outside the tower entrance that you can click on. It's on the right facing the tower door. This will activate the tower defences and bring out a ton of mobs, so be ready.

And what quest we are talking about? I've done two quests (first to get that gem from Orge Shaman, second to get three items from chests within the tower) and it seems no more quests in that area is available. What now? Is it usable for something still?

So, I have the agate, but I don't remember how I got it.

Anyway, what tower are y'all talking about? Why would I want to keep this thing in my inventory?

It remains in your inventory even after you complete the quest chain that starts with Trelane's Defense. It is safe to destroy it AFTER you complete the chain however.

Don't bother using this, it spawns so many ogres and it does not help at all. The elementals that spawn to help you are weak and die anyway.
