This can seriously take a while to get to drop. The 5% drop rate seems accurate. Clear the Warriors to get more Oracles to spawn and also clear the NE island as well.

I had to clear both islands 3-4 times before I got a drop.

Try the other island, the one that doesn't have the altar. We killed like a million oracles on the one with, finding nothing, hten like the 3rd we killed on the other island had it.

I have been told that the creature it summons is a level 45 elite. I don't think me, a level 36, and my 35 bear can handle that. I guess I will just keep it untill I need to use it.

If anyone on Silver Hand, Alliance wants it, let me know

the seaworn alter is on the larger of the 2 northern most islands in Duskwallow marsh, the /tloc is 59,10. All I got for fighting 43 elite is 10s.

done around seriusly 70 murlocs and 50 of em been oracles.... still nothing

(im aoe mage so i take around 6-7 at a time)

this is the second lamest quest ive been to so far

this item is for to summon an elite, which is for a chain quest that starts in the Badlands. quest is called.. The star, The hand and The heart.
after aprox 2 1/2 hours of island hoping killen the murloc's this finally drop.
after about 1hr i found that i had to kill the warriors to just to make the oracles spawn..
this is the the worst quest i have ever done and as a lev 47 mage u can imagin how many i killed in 2 and 1/2 hrs.. AE FTW

btw the elite is ez to solo

I have killed hundreds of these oracles and not gotten one. I am lvl 51 so am I too high lvl to get it to drop? Trying to do this damned quest.....

I was grinding Mirefins for their heads when on the third kill this droped. I went to Thott and did a quick search...now I know to keep it in the bank untill I'm even level enough for the dang quest.

I killed some random guy cuz he was guarding a chest, it was the first thing i attcked that day and he droped and i was like wtf is this for, now i know its for a quest, ty.

Was doing the quest, got the enchanted kelp within the first 10, got another three while clearing the area to summon the giant, used all three to kill the giant a total of 4 times because it was good exp and we were killing him fast enough that the bodies with the kelp on them weren't going away. Giant didn't drop a single interesting thing though, so don't kill for drops.

i was doing the Dustwallow Marsh ques "hungry"..killing the murlocks for he firefin fishheads. after i finished q's and went back to org and repaired..noticed i had his in my bag..but thought it was an herb or something. i dont know where i picked it up there, but all i can say is that i was thre a totally of 20 mins for the quest i was doing...circled island 2x. i did get 2 chests, so maybe it was in there..but i had to come here to find out what its for..and nice to know,cause i have that quest with another toon!

Killed them for about an hour and a half one after another, and still no drop.

I went through three kelps - one took ~40 kills to get and my kill was taken by an Undead Mage. One took ~60 kills and I got overwhelmed by Murloc Warriors. Last one took ~10 kills and I made sure to clear the island before taking Dagun - slaughtered him.

Make sure to clear the island, the Murlocs really do turn the tide of the battle.

I killed dozens of Oracles, with no luck, but I found Burgle Eye on the southernmost island, and he dropped the enchanted sea kelp.

Used on an island with mirfins. Coords - 60,11

Once you use it on the alter wait a few seconds and hell come out of water.

Being he was a lvl 43 elite and I'm only 38 I died. So I can't tell you what he dropped.

My friend and I spent about 3 hours, purging the islands. We killed hundreds and never dropped. Went to bungle eye and he dropped on first kill. Try bungle ey eif you have trouble

If you are doing this quest and can buy the Enchanted Sea Kelp on the AH it is highly recommended.

It took me a little over 50 Oracles for it to drop.

I only saw Burgle Eye once and he didn't drop.

I was farming the murlocs for their scales... and....

I had four Enchanted Kelp drop within an hour.

Whoops.

I had fun summoning the giant, though. Then I went to Alcaz Island to celebrate. :D

While farming for "murloc heads" for another quest at level 38 I picked one of these up with my hunter. It drove me to lock here at trusty thottbot to find out about it. I had to collect 12 heads and probably killed maybe 30 or so murlocs of all types. I got this by happenstance.. after reading about it I put it in the bank, I'll later decide to look for the quest (don't want to fool with a 44 elite yet), or just post it for auction. I may follow up later.. :)

lol, I got it of the third mob i killed.. I did this quest on my warlock some months ago and then I had to grind for 4 hours to get the item... They must've improved the droprate or maybe I was extremly lucky!

Anyone know where this Seaworn Altar is? I searched all the small islands up the coast north of theramore, nada. started to go to the big island but ran into some hydras ?elites at 37.
Any info would be great

Make sure when you summon the giant that you clear from the alter to the South East section of the island. Pull him away from the center of the island- he pulled four Murlocks and I died.

Kill the Mirefin Oracles by the alter is the best place to find enchanted sea kelp.

it wasnt nice to get, but its perfectly doable. It was around the 20th kill of oracles, although we had to go through a bunch of warriors to get there.. Had a 44 rogue and a 44 druid on it and it dropped before long.

The bossman (Dagun) is just a joke, I feel sure I could solo him.

On the dustwallow marsh map, the very highest islands on the map are 2 really small ones connected. Southwest of those is a decent sized island, it has some cages and crap on it and in the middle is the altar :)

I must've killed about 200 Mirefin Oracles, and have yet to see the Enchanted Sea Kelp for the second item. This is getting annoying quick.

After 96 Mirefin Oracles it finally dropps...

5% droppchance IS FALSE... its 1% or something like that...

I cleared both islands 4 times and couldn't get it to drop. A group of 2 Horde showed up and killed a few Murlocs and summoned Dagun. I tagged him, chopped off his hand, and rode off into the sunset.

Took about 25 Oracle kills to get one on Classic.

There are some comments here about the low drop rate. I don't know if its related, but I have the quest "Hungry!", which is why I came here, to collect mirefin heads. Having this quest, I had the enchanted sea kelp before I had 7/12 mirefin heads, and then I killed a rare which also had an enchanted sea kelp. So, drop rate for me was quite good.

Glad I checked here before going to summon, because at 38, I'm sure I'm not taking down a 43 elite, solo.

Where is here? Glad you asked. Its the first island with murlocs along the coast, at 64, 28.

Wow. Just did this part of the UC quest on classic. I spent 45-50 minutes killing Murlocs before it dropped.

He’s a 43 elite sea giant and spawns in the ocean on the east side of the main island after you use the kelp next to the altar. Took some kiting, but I solo’d him easily as a 45 frost mage.

I found the kelp in my bank, having been forgotten for a long time. Went back at lvl 51 just to see what dropped. I was hoping for a green I could AH for a couple G. Whatever.

After the 400 or so murlocs chainpulled each other, and I summoned the elite 43, I killed him and what did he drop? 6s 47c. and that is all.

At least I got a soul shard out of it, right?

Murloc Genocide is pretty typical to find this item.

You don't need any quest to get this item.

The item is used to summon a boss (Dagun the Ravenous), to get Hand of Dagun, which is needed for the quest (Alliance) The Star, the Hand and the Heart / The Star, the Hand and the Heart (Horde)

Which is part of a quest chain to get Skull of Impending Doom , one out of many useful PvP items.
