i've been trying to get hold of one of these knifes for two hours now... killing shadow hunters over and over, no knife

all my equipment is broken, but i'm still trying :(

the droprates that are shown here are NOT what i am experiencing

I did this as a 37 Warrior -- hit the first fork in the cave, and the knife dropped off the first shadow hunter I found. It took me a lot longer to get the 4th medicine pouch -- about 12 witch doctor kills.

its easy to do as a lvl 32 mage , ijust soloed this quest but the knife dropped like in 30 mobs , good xp , the only negative thing is that is very tight in this cave so icant hardly move as a mage

for those who don't have the coordinate thingy... like me
it is at the bottom tip of the lak on the map in the mountains .... u should look for it wehn u r dead otehrwise ur gonna waste alota time

Just for old folks, the cave is exactly south of the bottom most point of the lake.

You have to know that the knife doesn't drop off of Headhunters, only Shadow Hunters. Hence the name Shadow Hunter Knife. As a lvl 34 rogue I soloed all the tusks and pouches without dying, then stealthed into the cave and past everything. When I got to the fork I took a left and killed the first shadow hunter I saw (level 35), and it dropped. The cave is behind a camp to the east, so if you don't see a path to the left of the camp you're in, then you're in the wrong camp. when you get close enough you can see the path and the cave on your mini map.

The Shadow hunter cave is located south west of the Witherbark village lake.

when you are south west of the lake you can see two snake statues take a path there to the left that goes south west.
the correct path has a box on it and curves right to the shadowhunter cave.

when you are in the cave there are a few headhunters at first but further on there are shadowhunters. only shadow hunters drop the knife you need to complete the quest.

when you get a shadowhunter down to low health they run away and call three more npc's in the cave to attack you.

i had to chase after one kill it and take the knife before i died! i talked to a spirit healer rather than going back to the cave and completed the quest!

this is a quest item and if a rogue is doing this quest.....when they get quest they can basicly equip the knife when it drops until they turn in quest :/
