At no time in the game do you need to spend money on a set of these. All Rogues (the only class that can make use of them) get them for free during their lockpicking quest.

I took away the "Thieves' Tools" from my backpack, and when im trying to buy a new one i can't. What shall i do?

When im trying to buy a new it stands "Can't carry any more of those" but i ain't got anyone in my backpack...

I found a locked box on the shore at Zoram, so I went and got one of these Thieves Tools items, but it won't open the box. I tried right/left clicking both the tools and box, tried to drag the tool onto the box, but nothing happened. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe a unique key is needed for the box?

I bought these (I'm a warrior) and opened a locked box of some type that I fished up. Can I continue to use these, or are there certain boxes I won't be able to open?

Only Rogues can use Thieves' Tools. These allow the Rogue to pick locks and disarm traps.

DON'T buy them. Save your 15 silver.
Horde can get a free set from Wrenix's Gizmotronic Apparatus when accept the quest Plundering the Plunderers from Wrenix the Wretched .

Alliance Rogue, humans at least but likely alliance races too, can start the quest Redridge Rendezvous.

Be sure the train lock picking at level 16 as soon as you can. Otherwise you will not be able to complete the quest in Redridge.

The chain that begins with that quest will reward Thieve's Tools so no need to purchase a pair unless you deleted yours by mistake.
