Truesilver deposits seem to spawn where thorium deposits spawn. So, if you're after either Throium or Truesilver, and you see one of these deposits, you might want to harvest it and come back after a little while and the other might be there.

Truesilver is mined and smelted at 230 mining.

To Learn ANY CRAFTING skill (BS, LW, Alc, Eng, Tai) you need to be:

up to 75 (Apprentice) - 5 lvl
up to 150 (Journeyman) - 11 lvl, 50 skill
up to 225 (Expert) - 20 lvl, 125 skill
up to 300 (Artisan) - 35 lvl, 200 skill

For GATHERING skills there're no lvl requierments (i haven't seen any, correct me if i am wrong) and it's simple:

up to 75 (Apprentice) -
up to 150 (Journeyman) - 50 skill
up to 225 (Expert) - 125 skill
up to 300 (Artisan) - 200 skill

For this topic it means that you need to be 20 lvl to learn alchemy to 225 (if you have enough resorces/money ofcourse) and learn the needed recipes.

For secondary skills (Cooking, Fishing, First Aid) i know that you need to hit 40 lvl to go for 300 skill.

You need lvl 35 to train Artisan, which is past 225 skill. Transmutes, however, can be done at 225 skill, so you don't need Artisan to do then. A lvl 33 can surely transmute.

I dont know what it is about Maelstrom but you can bet that the ore prices are twice what the Alla value states.. 70s for truesilver is actually a DECENT price. I would go hunt for it but its too rare. Anyone know of a place where truesilver always comesup?

You need to learn Mining profession and then you can use Smelting to smelt Truesilver Bar from Truesilver Ore

You can mine Truesilver Ore from this route:

Felwood, Kalimdor
The best Mithril Ore, Truesilver Ore and Gold Ore gathering spot for Horde and Alliance.
If you don't have fly mount, try to focus on Caves and near demons. There are plenty of veins.

You can also gather: Jade, Moss Agate, Solid Stone, Aquamarine, Citrine, Star Ruby, Tin Ore, Coarse Stone, Lesser Moonstone and Shadowgem there.

WoW SoDAt 225 mining, if you add the Advanced Mining enchant to your gloves (+5 mining) it allows you to mine Truesilver Ore, but you cannot learn to smelt it. This requires an actual mining skill level of 230.An alchemist can transmute a Mithril Bar into a Truesilver Bar but it has a 2 day cooldown.
