The Hearthstone is a unique (you can only own one) item that has a 10 second cast time, with a 60 minute cooldown timer on it. This timer is not shared with the Shaman spell, Astral Recall (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/spell=556).

If you delete this item from your inventory you can get a new one from any Innkeeper by asking him/her to "make this inn your home". If you place your Hearthstone into your Bank, you will not be able to use it out in the world, and you can not ask an Innkeeper for a new one.

You cannot buy a new hearthstone from an innkeeper, but when you bind to an inn and you don't have a hearthstone you will be given another one automatically.

After destroying one, you don't get one back automatically. Instead, you have to go to an Inn Keeper and ask to make that place your home. It will be your home and you will automatically recieve a Hearthstone.

Hmm my HS is gone. Ok no prob, i'll just head to an inn and get a new one.

Didnt work either! Tied several inns in outland and azeroth, and now my ticket is pending. Will update soon.

IDK about you guys but my shamans Astral Recal PWN'D this in the face, i have one extra bag space now cause of that spell. Not only does the spell take 1/2 to get me there with a 15 min cooldown but i also got it banned from battle, long story short i was getting ganked i used they @#$%^ed i got banned for 5 days when i come back cant use it in battle. Oh and that ban held me back from leveling so dont yell at me for being so low. I get banned by alliance all the time for me killing them.

omfg!
was in aq80 (im a closed beta tester for blizzard) doing some solo runs... got the last dude down, called Huykluioa'Jythnagg a almost invisble little incredible small roach and he dropped a EPIC heartstone!
and when i press it, i return to IF!
AWESOME!

This has GOT TO BE the rarist item on the game. Ragnaros has a .000001 not .001 drop but it can be found from rabbits with a .0001 drop rate

This is OBVIOUSlY a paladin weapon. The lowest DPS in the game (to further our pwnage), Total lack of stats and 1HR cooldown. This thing totally oozes veing for paladins...
