i got this mace it rocks i got a lvl 60 to help me with the quest so it wasnt that bad. didnt take that much time because i got the liferoot from AH the tusks were real easy cuz the trolls spawn real quick and the charms i got from the elements which are found in arathi highlands in the east binding west binding and outer binding. they are the hardest part but still easy. mace is awesome.

sure the whilewind axe may be slow but if they dodge you use overpower and BAM you will do massive damge it's pretty nice

Alright, I know I may be a little late into this conversation but...

I am an arms warrior, and I use a 2h sword. Why? Because it's all in the preference. The axe may have a little more max damage, but sword spec has the capability to deal damage twice. I've once had that sword spec activate while doing a Cleave coupled with Sweeping Strikes. That made my Cleave hit the dude twice, which was doubled by Sweeping Strikes, and both of my opponents were hit 3 times for around 115 dmg each. That's about 445dmg to both of them. And that wasn't even a critical.

If you're that worried about critical strikes, to be honest... be a Fury warrior. But again, it's all up to your preference. Some people like doing damage (axe or polearm's criticals), some like the additional attack which COULD result in more damage than the axe or polearm (sword), and some like the stunning effect that could completely shut down an opponent and win you the battle (mace).

So please... don't go around trying to convince everyone that there is only one way to go with any class. It's all preference, and it depends on how you do things and how well you do them. And if you want to debate with me... at lvl 29 in WSG, I was attacked by two lvl 29 warriors, and using my Arms techniques I managed to kill one of them and brought the other to half-life before I died.

It's all preference. Do what you guys like. Just play smart and nobody can tell you you're wrong.

it all depends on your specs and bit about your racial. being an arms war i went with axe and it served me fine until 37 were i had ravager.

Me, I picked the Axe and threw +15 Strength on there to boot .. yes, that's right. It's great have a 60 enchanter with mats to blow.

Let me say this, having an axe with +30 Strength at level 33 ... that's hot! A level 40 mage tried picking on me yesterday and pwn'd his squishy arsh in five blows 8-)

Nethirus is right it is like the master of all pizza cutters like look at this..........its a hammer hammer+pizza=NO! sword+pizza=maybe and BIG SUPPER PIZZA AXE+pizza=YEAH!

P.S if you suck at math that meens the axe is a good choice.......FOR DA PIZZA!

honestly. the sword or axe would be better for 2h Fury build...which most people dont realize is brutal PvE damage...

the axe is best for a MS build...but the sword or mace is better for 2h fury *depending on if you want harder/slower heroic strikes, or faster cleaves/heroic strikes...*

and the first guy who posted...about the pizza cutter..."my max execute is 1200 with the axe"...
execute is based off rage, not weapon damage...

you can get a 4k+ execute crit at level 60 with a level 1 dagger...learn your skills :)

Pre Level 40 (heroic strike):

Get the SWORD. You'll be mostly using Heroic Strike which adds it's damage to the next available swing. Faster weapon, more swings, more damage.

Post Level 40 (mortal strike):

Get the AXE if you're an ARMS/Mortal Strike build. MS is an instant attack and you want the highest possible top end damage available.

Axe is the best down the middle..good X-Y damage, DPS, and slow speed..Sword is least damage but fastest..mace being second slowest with better damage than the sword, less X-Y than the axe, but .1 more DPS..depends on what spec you go in Arms talents, what race you are, or what you prefer in terms of looks or the effects of the talents

Warrior skills are based on the X-Y damage (ex 200-500) not the DPS, DPS is for white damage only, so if you go for something that has low X-Y damage it better have good $%^&in stats or be fast enough to make up for your weak ass crits

and for last time. EXECUTE DOES NOT #$%^ING MATTER ON WEAPON U GODDAMN NOOBS

only thing that modifies Execute is
Melee Damage (not attack power) example ; enrage in fury talents
Critical Strike Damage, example; Impale in arms talents,
or Critical Strike Chance(Crit execute does more than regular) example; ...duh

Hello together,

I got the Whirlwind Warhammer yesterday and I'm happy to got it with my lvl 30 Warrior cuz it is REALLY imba for this lvl. I put a +15 Strength Enchant on it because +30 Strength rocks. I respecced from Swords to Mace specialication and now have a 6% chance to, as already mentioned above, SHUT DOWN the enemy and this 6% are proccing very often. The only thing which @#$%s me off a bit is the *tock* *tock* sound while hitting.

Some additional info since patch 1.10:

Warrior has some skills which do weapon maxdamage + x
Since 1.10.1 this maxdamage will be calculated from the wow-engine via weaponspeed 2.7 so it TOTALLY does not matter which weapon you choose, all the same stats, all the same dps (yeah .2 difference but this is as wayne as my pink panties :P) and because of this, all have the same results in speed calculation of 2.7

I've spent lotsa hours in deciding which weapon i'll go for but as i already said, they are all the same so choose by style.

Btw: I pwnt TWO lvl 35+ mages and a lvl 36 Rogue yesterday all two- or three-hitted in Stranglethorn Vale. The mage was thinking something like
"WTF o_O why I was stunned all the time? 8["

This weapon is good, however the sword can be much better. Depending on your build the sword can be vastly superior to the mace & axe due to its faster swing. Sure it's base dps is a little lower, however it is alot faster & speed=rage=extra damage.

I finished this quest with a lvl 60 friend. I got the Warhammer, for a few reasons. I don't care very much about the looks of my weapons, so I didn't really take that into consideration. I didn't really like the sword very much, because I am an Arms warrior, and it sucks for Arms. I have 0 skill in axes, and I'm not even trained in them, so the axe would've cost me more money, and time to level it up. So obviously, I chose the Hammer. Yes, mace specialization is not as good as axe and sword, but by the time I get there, I will probably get Bonebiter from SM. That is the main reason people usually get the Axe, because its specialization is considered the best. Hope this helps!
