The carrion recluse actually has a 100% chance of dropping this silk so long as you have the quest.

Black Widow Hatchlings also drop it at a nice rate, around 50%, and they're much easier to find. Far better than the percentage listed above!

I got a pristine spider silk off of a black widow hatchling. Only one though, so not sure what the actual drop rate is.

Killed 1 Black Widow Hatchling and 4 lvl 24 Black Widow Hatchlings before I got 1 Pristine Spider Silk
so if it keeps on like this im glad if they get rarer Ill get miserable 8P

You must remember that these rates are NOT correct!
the drop rates are going to be much higher because most of the time the people killing these spiders will not be a mage and have this quest....although it will still register as a kill w/o a pristine spider silk dropping..

If you kill the right spiders, namely the Carrion Recluses, all 3-4 of them that spawn in the middle of Raven Hill Cemetary, the drop rate appears to be 100%. For me, I got 4/4 this way.

If you kill the Lvl 24-25 Black Widow Hatchlings, they still drop the silk but much slower. I got 4/14, or about 30% drop rate.

Either way it's not too bad. The Black Widows are all over the place east of the cemetary, so there's plenty to try to kill. There are only a few Carrions (I found 3 near the center, didn't look any further). I killed those 3, hunted 4 silks off the BW's and then came back for one more respawned Carrion to finish it.

u have to kill the spiders that are INSIDE the graveyard fence... big green ones among the undeads, and the drop rate was 8/8 for me too. did this at lvl 26. alone. GL

Just watch out for the Elite Skellie that runs around the Graveyard wtfpwning people while they quest. Kinda funny they stuck him in there. Gives a REAL sense of danger for once.

as mentioned above, the black widow spiders to the immediate east of raven hill drop them about 1/3 of the time (if you don't want to wait for the 6 or so recluses to respawn)

the drop rate is not so low... i do the quest in 15 min... for a dumb reward :D

As of 2019, Carrion Recluse drops them, the best spot to farm is around the fountain in Raven Hill Cemetary. Killed a few Hatchling but did not get one, bad luck or they don't drop it anymore.
