Where to get the ring
It's a quest item, dropped 100% by Dark Iron Dwarves right outside the final chamber in Gnomeregan in the form of "Grime-encrusted Ring".

Special nature of the ring
Right clicking it begins a quest that requires you to place it in Sparklematic 5200 after you get a quest called "Return the ring" and information that it has TdK printed on it.

P.S. Have not figured out who or what TdK is yet. Will update the post when I figure it out.

After talking to Talvash del Kissel in Mystic Ward of Ironforge for a silver bar, moss agate and 30 silver he turns the ring into Talvash's Gold Ring for you.

I found mine in gnomer, it's actually a "grime-incrusted ring" which starts a quest. You just go to the machines you put the "grime encrusted objects in" and get it. Then it says you can keep or find out who owns it.

He asks you for 1 moss agate, 1 silver bar and 30s, gives u a ring with 6stam and 6 spirit that sells for ~68s, not worth it.

Horde can go into Gnomeregan and get the ring...is it possible to find the followup person for us, or are we just bound to have the Brilliant Gold Ring without doing the followup...previous posts refer to a person in Ironforge which would be impossible for horde. Anybody know?

NOG is for nogg at the engineering shop in Orgrimmar- same guy who gives u the rig wars quest.

Do you get xp for returning the ring to the guy in IF? Or do you just get a better ring after forking over those materials?

I did get xp. 140 @ lvl 45. my ring was only +5 Sta/ +5 spi.

And it only sells for 64.63.

well i got the silver ore and moss agate from th grime encrusted objects, so it wasnt too bad.

30s for the quest
5s for grim encrusted mats

for a ~65s reward, not too bad once u factor in rep and xp rewards
