Im a lvl 49 warrior and the only reason that i still do ZF is to get this sword.

I have Sang'thraze and some days ago Jang'thraze dropped to. I said b4 the instance that i already had sang'thraze and the others agreed not to need on it. But when the sword drops the lvl 44 hunter says "can i need?" and b4 someone had answered he needed and won it... his second time in ZF.. just want to kill that mf..

I could care less if you guys get into close combat a lot. These are NOT hunter weapons. They are not even remotely beneficial in the lowest of terms to a hunter. I was expecting more rogues to post that it's good for them too (which I wouldn't object too. If it weren't for the two hander these would be great for either class) but no, apparently there are so many damned hunters in this game that they just flood out all of the excess opinions. These are not hunter weapons, they never will be. gg

Chance to parry on a hunter? Give me a break. Hunters shouldn't be in close combat long enough to even parry at all. Ever hear of wingclip and run, fd and ice trap, scatter shot + aotc? Get over yourselves, you have no reason to stay in close combat for more than 3 seconds unless you're just screwing around with someone.

please hunters...don't be lured by the fact that you simply CAN use this weapon. it's NOT meant for you.

I have a 60 hunter and warrior and I'd never use such a thing on my hunter.
of course hunters DO end up in melee at times, but you shouldn't STAY in melee. a hunter is ALWAYS best at range. ALWAYS.

a warrior is ALWAYS best in melee. thus, this is for them, or pally.

hunters, get a weapon with good stats on it...that's what you need most...chance to crit...attack power...agility...maybe some stamina.

do not be LURED just cause it looks uber, or is purple...and cheat a warrior out of a weapon that will do him/her 100% more good than you.

Ok just my two cents on this particular item that everyone is chasing. First off all I'd like to say is unless you are a melee based class who can use 2h weapons stop chasing this particularly hard to find sword because it is wasted on your trash character. For example hunters... why the f##k would a hunter, whose main effectiveness is a ranged weapon want to go for this item that doesn't even give you any agility? Its a waste of your time because for your class, to be honest you are better off with some generic green drop sword of agility, monkey, tiger... etc etc. Not to mention you would be out melee'd anyway because in terms of melee combat hunters dont hit as hard as warriors, pallys, or rogues. Hunters in melee will hit harder than a caster, and thats about it. This sword most benefits melee classes, especially warriors, and pally's. Other then that dont waste your time. So in laymen's terms, this weapon should only be chased by a war, or pally. Lrn2play

U have to have Jang equippted in order to combine=then u right click jang and bam u have a 50 epic wep.

I see that some hunters say it is a hunterwep, and that they should be allowed to roll on it equally to warriors.
Firstly: The proc is more for warriors than hunters, as they tank.
If a hunter says that it is a good proc for them, that !@#$%^& is a goddamn noob. :)
A hunter should generally never go melee unless it is to use Wingclip, hunters are RANGED, NOT melee. So a meleeweapon should have good stats for them, not pwn DPS.

As a rogue, I would never even think about rolling over a warrior or a paladin in this matter. It would not be neccesary for a rogue anyway, as we can use Vanquishers and Sword of Serenity/Sword of Omen.

You ninja hunters understand that is one of two pieces that creates a two hand epic sword which has no stats on it, only a melee proc? Why the @#$% would you take this from a warrior. I swear, all these f%*$#ing noob ninja hunters

I ran the instance with some guildies and both swords dropped, our hunter wanted to roll on it.

I told him that I would then roll on every blue and epic bow that ever dropped, seeing as how I COULD use those for pulling...

He opted not to roll. How pissed would you be as a hunter if a warrior outrolled you for an epic bow? Now you know how we feel.

i dont know where it came from but so many people that roll a hunter get this crazy idea that they are some sort of ultimate fighting machine: great ranged attacks, mail armor, tracking, ability to wield melee, and oh yea - a pet

the pet is your melee (your tank) - not you

and before a person flames and says "what happens if the tank dies or loses aggro"

do you really think you will make as much a difference in melee as say a warrior, pally, or rogue? most likely you'll watch everyone around you die then play dead (yea that sword does you, your group, and guild a lot of good)

if you disagree so much then i challenge any hunter to throw down their bow/gun/crossbow whatever, lock their pet up at home, and go for a walk to find the first rogue, pally, or warrior at their level and requesting a melee only duel

this sword is for those who will be keep the mobs from swarming over you bc chances are if your focusing all your attention on melee your ranged attacks must be lacking

Ok so im a 50 pally and have been running ZF since 44 and doing almost nothing else just after these swords. I have only gotten the only 1 and not his one and it is in me off! I have run this dungeon almost 50 times and it has only dropped once...were another pally beat me in need........they should really make this a higher drop...i'm gettin sick of zf and really want this...I dont want to keep runnin when im like 55

Also is that really tru that you can skip that part with the stairs? Cause that would make it alot faster

If you ever wanna do somthin I'm Figen, ablood elf pally in SILVERMOON. Pst if you ever want to run zf lol

just got it on lvl 51 troll fury warrior...i wanted it like 6 lvls ago...lol
too bad i dont use 2 hands
as soon i get 2nd part i ll lvl up my 2hand sword skill =D

I'm currently looking for Sang thraze, but this thing is nice by itself. I know I know >.> The shield isn't great, but it does proc often so it's like being able to resist 55-85 melee damage every once in a while. I fought dragon whelps and their fire wasn't effected, and the shield never went down so I assume magic doesn't get absorbed with the shield.

It'll almost make me sad to combine this and sang thraze because the proc IS nice. Got it combined with thrash blade because finally a combo that does awesome dmg compared to a 2-hander for me ;) But no stats whatsoever! Sul'thraze will be a nice upgrade though considering I'll be going from the 42dps of the blade of the titans, to 52dps on the sul'thraze =)

No I'm not fury >.> An upgrade in damage is nice no matter what spec or class or race or w/e.

This item exists, its just that the version that is produced from the seperation of Sul'thraze is not considered to be the version shown here:

you get jang off of the boss of zul'farrak. the cheif got mine already at .38% drop....... other 1/2 sang drops off of ahn inside of same instance (the basalisk boss) he drops his .28% of the time. but this will be my end game blade short of finding a blade of hanna. so ha ha ha i got jang.

Been through ZF many times and never saw it drop before. And last night it dropped and a Warlock rolled need on it and won.

After reading what it really is used for it seems kinda sad that the warrior didn't win it since he would have been able to use the epic 2hand version of the sword when it is combined.

Just wanted to note it does drop off the Chief. So if your looking for it... it just takes time ;)

I think there's a bug with the on-use effect for this item in 1.15.2. I got this sword and the the twin (Sang'thraze?), equipped them both, and used them. After some casting, the epic 2h sword was placed in my inventory, but I still had this sword equipped - but the other 1h sword was gone.
