Also valid for Enhancement shaman if no-one else needs. Good until we can https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=11124 and probably still better for solo grinding. Looks great too.

Looks the best on a Troll, because of the tusks. Too bad I'm a priest and could only ctrl-click try it on.

I've done the rod 27 times and counting, I want the helm for sentimental purposes and good looks while pvping. I have yet to see it, and I've only gotten past the army waves 6 of the 27 times. This is using my 60 shaman, I swear they made it harder then it used to be. Even so the drop is extremely RARE!

Is it best for druids? Yes, anyone who knows how druids benefit from strength can see that. However, I have no problems rolling against rogues and (possibly) hunters for this. They both get alot out of it as well.

I have both a druid and a rogue both played to 60. One thing you must learn when you're a feral druid is that up until 57-60 you have no right to tell someone that an item is only for a druid(with the exception of wolfshed)

You picked a hybrid prepare to bare the burden that comes with it. You can play in some simalair sense ever class. That doesn't mean you have the right to flame people who role on items that you can use. Please don't turn the druid class into the hunter class where everyone cry's that it's a druid item only. YoYou benefit from staves, robes, leather, daggers, hammers, maces, ect. Does that mean it's rightfully yours?
You play a hybrid expect all your items to be rolled on.

As for the disscussion about HOF vs lycan, sure HOF is better, so rogues should pass on lycan because HOW is only at lvl 48? Did you forget it requires a hefty amount of gold? Most lvl 40-50 are still recovering from mount cash, so why not just run ZF gain exp and grab a decent free helm at the same time?

If this drops I'd take it as a feral druid.

Yeah I'll be the healer of a ZF run, but you better believe I would take this helmet for solo grinding to 60. Screw rogues that think they have priority on it.

For all feral druids. This is alot better then the helm of fire. firstly 1 Str = 2 atck power...1 agi = 1 ack power... helm of fire gives 17 atck power where as lycan gives 16 + 32 equip bonus and also alot more health from the stam. Therefore this is a hands down winner of the HOF for ne feral druids... Rogues can roll on this as they get their atck power half half from str and agi... Also hunters can use it but they should give first preference to Feral druids and Rogues...IF there arnt ne of them go for it :P

OMFG! was in ZF a min ago with my feral dru, no rogue or hunter in the group. everything goin fine till this drops then a PALADIN? ninja'd it and HS'd.
he Said "yes! im a ninja hahahaha noobs!" b4 leaving. Muumi Legioona (guild) on Stormreaver is full of ninja's and shud be avoided for grouping!

This is best for a feral druid, then a rogue, then a hunter, and shaman should be the last in line to get this. I ran ZF today with a lock, priest, warrior, mage and hunter. Dropped and since no rogue or druid was there, it was mine. So glad.

This bad boy dropped and we didn't have a rogue or druid in the group so I was forced to DE it. Pitty how it's barely a 9% drop rate for it.

Sang'thraze the Deflector also dropped on the same run from Antu'sul, the warrior didn't know about it and passed on it. It made all the warriors on dark iron cry simultaneously.

Gotta love pick up groups :).

Dropped today at Zul'farrak, i'm 49 rogue with Helm of fire. i Won it on greed roll so i have both of them at the moment. I would rather not have my head look like a wolf, besides, i dont think it's as good as the Helm of fire, so i vendored it shortly after.

The novelty of looking stupid with a wolf head wares off after an hour.

Rolled against a rogue(I'm a feral specced druid) on this and won. I had been healing and had my caster set on, so he thought i was lying when i said i was feral and accused me of being a ninja(via /y, nonetheless). I explained it to him, but he had difficulties grasping the concept of separate mana and feral gear sets.

Sigh. Some people... The item is nice anyway.

still doing runs for this, i had pleasure of seeing it drop once since i started, but lost roll to rogue. hope it drops again.....

this is rare drop, he ussualy always drops the crap axe or plate, if this drops for you and your druid or rogue, grab it because you might not ever see it again.

Eh, I don't know if the Helm of Fire is better than this... Helm has 17 Agility, and 10 Stamina ( I think) plus some fire resistance, and a goofy use, heh.... the Helm with the 17 Agility only gives 17 attack power (1 AP per agi for rogues) this gives 32 Attack power, thats the equivelent of 32 Agility in Attack power, not to mention over 1% added Critical strike chance... and thats at 60, but mainly it depends on your build I guess, but Attack Power is great, and not to be overlooked by a Helm that most people get just to look Trendy, like every other rogue at 45 :/

Woot, I'm a level 43 rogue and just did my first ZF with 2 guildies and 2 pickups, this thing dropped. I was only leatherwearer and was N for me so I got it. I'm so happy as our guild has tons of mid-50s rogues who wanted this so bad around my level =D

rogues should let feral druids get this. they get ebon mask after some lvls anyway, and its more useful to druids.

Point 1. Ebon mask is one of three quest rewards for a rogue Q and imho the other items are better. The lycan's embrace is comprable in usefulness to ebon mask for rogues.

Point 2. Rogues have equally the same stake on on of these as a druid. If you need something, you need on it, else you greed on it. People who say 'sewansew should let sewensew have this coz sewensew gets this in a couple of lvls' really get on my nerves. When they accuse you of being a ninja, welcome to /ignore and an entry on the guild forums under 'idiots to avoid'.

Bottom line is : If this dropped for me I'd probably need on it. If a druid or anyone else claims that to be unfair or ninja'ing, well you can kiss my leather clad *&%.

Dropped from first kill. Two another ppl roll for it but I winn, I was happy as hell coz I wear like feral druid wolfshead only for look (look like this helm but its crap) and this helm is good for feral druid and have best druid look. And now I go celebrate it to some pub =]

Got it today from ZF, which was really lucky for me (really low drop rate compared to others like the big bad pauldrons) but pissed off my group (2 other pallys, 1 mage and a 62 warrior who didn't care about loot obviously) so I got this sweet helm. I like the looks, and great stats and bonus.

I got this on a random ZF run with my 50 rogue tonight, and when I equipped it I started randomly hearing a stupid ROAR bear like sound :)

The sound plays around every 30 seconds or so, and it doesn't come when I unequip this :D L O L just wanted to mention it - try it out people :D

Got this on my DPS warrior on a greed roll, and realized that this is a very good head piece indeed.

You do lose a bit of armor vs plate but the Strength and Attack Power combines into effectively 24 Strength (32ap / 2 = 16 + 8 = 24).
That is 48 AP in the end, all in all.
Added the 16 Stamina, you get +40 of your core stats on this item, plus the ever underrated (for leveling) Spirit of +5.

Any melee DPS should consider this head piece.
