The Seal of Wrynn, Nogg's Gold Ring, and Talvash's Gold Ring have been improved to be superior items. However, it is not said wherter or not the stats change on these 3 items.

Got jade, greater moonstone, star rubies and moss agite before with the grime objects. but I agree, it's pretty hard on your wallet and what you're getting is up to chance. If you're an engineer you'd probabally be happy if you get 1 middle level gem for every 20 objects you put in the wash. 60s a small price to pay for decent gem of that type and you're dam happy if the rare gems pop up

A filth-encrusted ring drops randomly off mobs in Gnomeregan. If you take it (and any Grime-encrusted objects) you have to the Clean Area of Gnomer (you'll have to fight some L30 gnome guards, so watch out for civilians when you do) there are machines called Sparklematic 5200 or some-such. If you put 3 silver in the coin slot, and insert an item to be cleaned, the machine will buck and jump like a washing machine on pogo sticks, and hand you a gift-wrapped present. For the encrusted ring, it's Nogg's Rig, junior version, which is like +4 Stam, +4 Spirit. If you take it back to Nogg in Org, he'll ask you for some silver and a gem, and he'll turn it into this neat blue ring.

Note the Grime-Encrusted Objects are mostly ore, stones, or gems, but I've gotten some potions and greens this way too. Most of the time, your 3s will be wasted on crap, so it's no way to make a profit. But if you buy lottery tix, this should be right up your alley.
