Last week we reported on the
49 Scarab Lords of Fairbanks
after they finally opened the gates of Ahn'Qiraj. This week, we've learned that the Russian sever Flamegor has amassed a record breaking 90 Scarab Lords! As far as we know, this is the largest amount of Scarab Lords on a live server and it's possible there are even a few more who haven't been added to the list, making it quite the impressive achievement!
Thanks to r41dboss on discord for compiling the spreadsheet and bringing it to our attention.
One player even managed to obtain their
second
Scarab Lord, the first on their retail character Алисон, and the second now on Элисон in Classic WoW.
We were also given a few anecdotes from r41dboss, who presented the story to us, regarding the server's journey to unlocking the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj (keep in mind that English is not their primary language).
Initially on our server GMs of the majority of guilds have made agreement that we will not hand over recourses until August 12, and only then we will ASAP start the caravan. But in the end, the resources were not enough, and the caravan was launched only on the 16th in the evening.
During these 3 weeks (including several days of waiting for the caravan), some guilds managed to make 4-6 bugs. Plus there were even single guys, who without being a member of any guild, with only help of friends, buying "workers" or just carapaces, managed to make Qiraji tanks.
We had 2 layers on the server, and we decided to divide the Alliance and the Horde into different layers. But a few hours after the restart, the RMT-guild from the Alliance did not care about the agreements and simply occupied an entire hive on the Horde layer. Fortunately, they quickly finished the farm and left Silithus a few days later.
Almost every day WPvP-guilds "Эшелон" from the Horde and "Т Е Р Р О Р" from the Alliance held a bloodbath in the location for a few hours. These old enemies ran from hive to hive, from layer to layer, trying to catch each other, simultaneously cutting out "peaceful" farmers and beetles.
Since the Horde guild is generally stronger, the Horde farmers could farm carapaces more or less safely in the evenings, but at night and during the day the Alliance, thanks to a better organization, constantly took the most profitable hives and burrows. Therefore, in the end, the Alliance has almost two times more Qiraji tanks.
But the Horde managed to win back during the event before the 10-hour war. It just so happened that the Horde and the Alliance occupied different layers before the Gong. A few minutes before the arrival of the caravan "Эшелон", teaming up with other guilds and players, moved to the Alliance layer and destroyed all so that the layer was fully lagged, many were disconnected from the server (players on that layer). And the gates was eventually opened by a Horde mage Профессия who made a scepter without a guild.
After that the whole 10 hours of war Silithus was under Horde control. There was layer merge right in the middle of a war, so Alliance could no longer hide and farm Anubisaths on another layer. Uplifted Horde guilds and "Эшелон" everywhere killed all Alliance players right until war was ended.
When we were just discussing how many mounts we could make in theory, we had about 60 applicants. And everyone was extremely skeptical of such a large number. But as you can see, almost every willing player, including solo, was able to make the coveted bug. Gz everyone!
All in all, it's quite an impressive achievement, and while the threat of Ahn'Qiraj will soon be gone, Flamegor will forever be overrun with black qiraji battle tanks as a reminder of the dedication of its players!
