Does anyone know if "(ii) HAVE REGISTERED A WORLD OF WARCRAFT USER ACCOUNT IN GOOD STANDING" means active? I am assuming it does. My sub ended on the 25th and I waited until the 31st to re-up. :(
Disappointing that this contest isn't open to all. I get the concept of giving the long-term players greater rewards, but I would have preferred to be eligible for something -- even a trivial thing, like a free month of play.I may not have been playing long, but Blizzard has kindly excluded me from any possibility of getting anything from this, leaving me with a rather bitter reaction.
Lol @ Quebec.Sounds cool, though!
I'm American, so the rules of the contest don't exclude me in that manner. And I totally understand the whole legal issues surrounding running contests in other countries anyway. But from my perusal of the game rules, I'm ineligible simply due to the fact that I haven't been playing long. And given the estimated retail value of the prizes offered, a "consolation" prize of something like the aforementioned free month of play, offered to any active account, doesn't seem like it would be too far of a stretch.Again, I'm not upset that long term players get better rewards. I'd say that this is the way it should be, in fact. But even though I haven't been playing long... give me some reason to be happy about the 5th year anniversary.
I think you're overestimating how upset I am about this. It's mildly annoying, but nothing I'd call "boohooing".I've seen nothing about a whelp pet, so if you have a link for that I'd appreciate it.In any case, having a celebration and excluding players? Sorry, I can't see how that's a good idea. Again, I expect that long term players get better rewards. But newer players get... oh yay, nothing at all. Thanks, Blizzard, give me a warm fuzzy feeling. It's not a sense of entitlement to ask not to be excluded. To compare to another game I was playing... Guild Wars has anniversary celebrations every year. It was the fourth anniversary in April. People who had been playing since day one got fourth year birthday presents. People who started playing still got to participate in the in-game events. That's what I expected with Blizzard. But according to your stance, they should have been shut out completely.
