In each wsg game, you'll find that you have 10 people in your team, usually if you want a suitable split, you'll have some in offence, some in base for defend and some on the middle to offence and defence. Or you can just have 5 people defending and 5 people attack. Each class has its on advantage in the game.Warrior- lasts longer because of plate armor, can be immune to fears and such when carrying flag. Slows down the enemy who has the flag, slow effects, stun effects etc.so warriors are overall useful for geting flag or in the middle field.Warlock- excellent on offence or defence because of fear, making people unable to attack the flag carrier. And using affiction on the flag carrier will cause him to die regardless if he escapes (Dying).Shaman- Good on defending or caping flag. able to cap quicker wolf form, got slows skills such as frost shock. Totems becomes really useful such as Earthbind. Healing the flagger if healing spec helps the flagger stay alive much longer.Preist- Excellent on offence or carrying flag because heals, fears, and aborbing damage. Most likely most useful spec would be healing spec, because the more heals to players, the more less likely ur team will all die.Death knight - excellent offence and defence and carrying flag. Tank like able to carry flag and when people chasing u , use chains of ice. Unholy aura also helps you run faster. When defending or geting flag back becomes extremely useful, make the flagger slow and death grip becomes the most unwanted thing the other team flagger would want.Rogue- excellent for overall for its speed and quick killing. Able to survive longer then most other classes and geting flag back easy or caping the flag.Paladin- overall because of all the stuns paladins have and they can be good tank flag carriers or last long to kill people because of immune sheilds, lay of hands and such.Mage- excellent on geting flag back or slowing the flagger because of such skills such as frost bolt, slow etc. also fairly good on geting caping flag because of blink and absorbing damge, but should always have people healing or protecting you.Hunter- Overall good but when geting flag, avoid having the travel speed buff on when people are atacking, otherwise you can never escape. Traps becomes helpful on defence and offence because of slowing down the enemy and such. Pet becomes extremely helpful for example spider pet, webs the enemy making the enemy unable to escape.Druid- Overall the MOST helpful class in the game. When attacking they become extremely hard to kill or your group becomes real hard to kill because if your healing spec. Druids geting the flag would be the quickest because of speed, travel form and entangle roots or tornodo the enemies who are chasing you, plus if your a tank or healing spec, it will take forever to kill you. Defending is also good because of entangle roots and tornodo plus if the flag carrier of the opposing team tries to run, you'll be able to catch up with sprint ( cat form ) or travel form. Most helpful spec for wsg is healing spec for its long lasting of helping the group.Overall to win the game you only need to stay in group because with teamwork, your surely to win more easily such as telling where the flag carrier is going or where you'll be on the field.Vucron- Spinebreaker (Realm) (US)Kelsaki- Frostmourne (Realm) (Ocean, Australia)
Corvan- Staghelm (Horde)-When defending as a range dps, go to the roof of your own flagroom. best vantage point.-When using the speed boost, jump just after the buff timer hits zero to get a few extra feet out of it.-When Carrying the flag, dont be obvious about wich way youre going. Try to take cover behind objects.
Oniseidou - Altar of StormsGet a Pally/Rogue with engineering, Have rogue FC and BOF the rogue will pop rocket boots and fly across the middle of the map and then sprint the rest of the way.
Aislinge - Dath'Remar (Oceanic)For Druids:- Stealth kitty to the other base with tracking Humanoids on (the right hand path is easiest and come in from the top level).- Wait for the opposing team to clear out (most do eventually). If they don't, take the opportunity to give a running commentary to the Battleground on enemy movements.- Once clear (or you feel comfortable taking on any opposition), jump down and take flag.- Use Humanoid tracking to determine best route out (this may not be the tunnel).- Use Dash and Travelform to maximise speed back to your base.I have found the above works well, even if it's slow - sometimes, the brash attempts to capture the flag become the most futile and the slow, ninja approach works best (not always). As a Balance Druid, if I get cornered, I will spam Entangling Roots, Nature's Grasp, Barkskin and Moonfire Rank 14 followed by 13. I don't personally have Typhoon so can't comment on it's effectiveness (although others seem to use it well).I must say though, as a side note, the quickest and most efficient WSG I have ever had was when we had 5 protecting the base, 5 (including Tank and Heals) moving to capture the flag and bring it back. All over in less than 5 minutes. Have fun :)
I tend to grab a few Swiftness Potion's before I join the queue. Then if I get the flag, I can bolt back across the battlefield to our base. (:
Vgk-Black dragonflightWhat I like to do is first wave have 1 person go via the tunnel just so you pick up the speed buff if you can do this the enemy flag carrier will not be able to do so in the first flag pickup. During this time you should all be moving out together in offense for the enemy flag as soon as the flag is taken run to mid field and go against the enemy flag carriers healers and slow the flag carrier and stun him giving the rest of your group time to get there and finish the jobOn the second flag cap what you need to do is leave 5 on D and 5 on O the reason your doing that now and not on the first one is because the enemy offensive will usually be more split up than the first wave when your going against their entire team the goal of this is to keep them of the flag while your offensive make their way to you3rd cap:On this one use the team until flag respawns to discuss with your team any changes you need to do on what you did on the 2nd strat I.E if you had a lot of enemy faction on their flags defense have 3-4 on D and 6-7 on O instead of an even 5-5 and then just repeat what you did on the second capalso if you have an assigned flag carrier and you already have it planned you'll be flag carrier pick these upThe only issue with the zanza speed buff is they are gone if you die they do not persist through death so farm up those tokens and queue up where you buy them
Wsg is a capture the flag PvP mode so don't ever forget it. Many people just stay in the middle of the map fighting everything they see. That's not the goal of this battleground(bg) and this is the reason your team will in 70% lose the bg. These are several tips to make your bgplay easier and more efficient. /Y "FOR THE HORDE" or "FOR THE ALLIANCE" helps to rise the group spirit up.Ok, now serious.1)If you carry the flag always go through the tunnel unless you know it's blocked by a big number of enemies. If you succeed you can spare 20-25 sec of running time.2)Use potions of all kinds if you have enough money or your professions are alchemy and herbalism. Healing, mana and swiftness are always extremely welcome in this bg.3)Be good with every flag carrier, don't lose your time on messing with everyone about who should get the flag. Better help that person and if he(she) drops the flag be near to pick it up. Another good advice here-Don't ever go get the flag alone, this is mostly pointless, unless you are crazy twinked for the bracket.4)Healing doubles your chances to win the bg. If you can't heal ask someone very polite to do that.5)The word "teamwork" should never leave your thoughts. Don't lose time on discussing the way someone offers to act (and this way sounds not that bad), just go for it. There will be at least one more player who doesn't lose time on blabla. 6)Finally (it's only my opinion) Sometimes it's better to prevent hunters from taking the flag, the more imba they are the more cool they can defend. Plus when carrying the flag, most of them forget to undo the speed buff aspect before being attacked. They get dazed for a long period of time and that's 100% flag lose. It's not personal, everything is based on the exp got from the lost and the won bgs.And of course follow the wise phrase: "a little kindness goes a long way" in PvP, it REALLY works.Uska, Tarren Mill (EU).

Obsideon-Shadowmoon1. Advised that flag carrier is a tank2. Always have some on defense3. The buffs don't just sit there for nothing. Use them!4. Mid-Field isn't pointless to fight at, controlling it creates a safe area when the Flag carrier comes by.
I've played many Warsong Gulch games in my day especially on my once 19 twink paladin Lummina. I specifically designed her to carry the flag so I sort of know the works as far as that. Tip #1 - always travel with someone unless you are a stealther you can afford to go alone. Tip #2 - keep atleast 1 healer on the flag and one defender to help keep the enemy off the healers and/or flag carrier. The other 7 member should push offense, it's good to have about 4 of those 7 constantly fighting and distracting from the main purpose. The other 3 preferably stealthers and a healer should assault the flag as quickly as possible using stuns and snares to keep him from fleeing. Tip #3 - always have atleast 2 people defending the flag except at the beginning. There is no reason to defend at the beginning of the game assuming that their entire team rushes the flag like usual. However after that it is important to keep some defenders near the flag. Tip #4- use the health, speed, and berserking chests to your advantage, they're there for a reason use them. Tip #5 - pick good defensively locations to carry and defend the enemy flag. if both flags are out pick a good spot to defend their flag. Good places are the roof graveyards, and for horde, under the saw behind the graveyard. Don't expose yourself too much. Tip #6 - Have fast units carry the flag to the base. Get a druid or a shaman to run the flag, they usually have the fastest forms of travel and can quickly get it back to the base. Have them hand it off to a high resil/armor/hp class such as a prot pvp warrior, etc. Tip #7- be smart and soft. Whats the point of running into a large group and bragging how you didn't run away? You got killed in 3 seconds, nothing to brag about. Avoid the large groups that end in sure death. Tip #8- If they start 'turtling', you have every right to camp their graveyard, so do it. Vice Versa as well.Tip #9 - if you are healer pvp, then heal. Why go healer spec if you aren't going to do your job?Tip #10- spam click when flag carriers are about to die. Tip #11- slows really help, so use them, it allows your players to catch up, even if its a druid who spams his re-shifting macro still use that split second to slow them down.thats all i got, thanks- Lummina, former 19 paladin twink, shadowmoonP.S. - im still angry at you blizzard for killing twinks
Umren - Ragnaros (EU)Universal and best tip:1. Get their Flag 2. Kill their Flag Carrier3. If some Alliance/Horde is too anoying just kill her4. Go capture the flag (Most important tip)5. Do the same 3 timesDo the Tips No. 1,2,3,4&5 = win.Propolis - Ragnaros (EU)
Ok, I have tried a tactic with the chopper with few friends and all completed " Ironman" achievment, so one of the players is going for the flag, the player get the flag and his friend or bg mate is waiting him outside WSG room with his chopper then the flag carrier is dropping the flag and waiting 3-4 seconds ( please note that the waiting is needed), then the flag carrier drops the flag wait 3-4 seconds then he jump on the chopper and while he is in mid-air he need to make a fast click on the flag and hey look u are 100% running through the field :D It is tested and it works just your guy with the chopper must have crazy driver skills if u want not to catch ya.
Ctrl + M to get a minimap up so you can see where people are in a jiffy.Speed boosts are fun, but if you wind up rocketing yourself out of the enemy tunnel and into the enemy welcome wagon right outside while your healers and other support are still hoofing it in the tunnel, you've just effectively returned the flag to the other team. Moral of the story: stick with the pack, don't put yourself out in the open or too far away from healers and DPS that can help you.
