This is by FAR the best thing Blizzard has done in a LONG time! I'm very proud of Blizzard to have a back bone and stand up to guilds like Paragon!
Banhammer crits you for 8 days.Ouch. But lol!
Ok just a question. Are u allowed to recive 2 loots for a raid finder boss in the same run? as i was in a run today i was able to roll on 2 items that droped for me & i won both of them. Now that was the first loot i had done for that boss, am i going to be affected by this or is it just that i was really lucky?
If game system allows people to do such things they shouldn't be banned.
Not nearly harsh enough, why were these people not perma-banned for exploitation instead of a mere eight day suspension. It smacks a little of favoritism because they are "top guilds" I miss the old days when Blizzard would ban first and ask questions never
Did they get what they deserved--or is an 8 day ban a little too severe for some 384 ilevel loot? It IS deserved as it doesnt matter if it was loot 384 or a cheat that enabled free gold by pressing the keyboard to your face. Rules are rules so if you take the risk don't cy or marginalise it jusr suck it up.
While I applaud Blizzard for upholding "fair play" I still do not like the fact that Blizzard says nothing(especially considering that people claim it was on the PTR, too) about it before handing out bans. When it's an occurance as wide-spread as this one, would it really be incredibly difficult to make a forum statement on the matter? If the bug was indeed on the PTR as well and reported neither by Blizzard's own testers nor the PTR-players and it sticks around with the live version, where it eventually gets many of the top contenders banned, I think there is something wrong on Blizzard's side, as well.
Justice served. Though I am not a raider, anymore (don't enjoy it), I have to admire the generally mature attitude that Paragon displayed in their response:
Honestly, 8 days was too weak. Clear and malicious use of bugs and exploits, if I was Blizzard, would be dealt with, with a full 1 month ban, permanent if it was not a first offense. There's no excuse ever, to cheat. So I think Blizz should of been more heavy handed with these cheaters.
deserved if they knew that the other ppl were abusing it they could have just reported the other guilds because of the use of exploits in that case they would have been banned and Paragon could've continued to progress while the other guilds were banned
This idea is something that should definitely be looked at after the ban has been completed, I love it!
Props to Blizzard for swift justice, and respect to Paragon for an adequate response. Naughty-naughty, though! Deserve a piece of coal for the exploit.
