So basically Illidan kills the prime Naaru and leader of the Army of the Light because he would have to sacrifice "himself"? He's all too eager to suck the mana from the bones of his Moon Guard to cast some spells. Jumps at the opportunity to enslave the Broken to further his agenda. But any actual personal sacrifice? Nope! He wouldn't get to brag about it. Getting real tired of this fan service wangst that passes for plot.
Wow, what a fantastic day for my subscription to end. *sigh* (BLAM! my wallet)
Seems fishy, I know Illidan is one BAMF, but 1-shotting a prime naaru? His attacked should have weakened her at best, not obliterate her.
No, because he would lose himself, and become a pawn of the light...service without free will is slavery.
so illidan isn't willing to sacrifice everything to stop the legion? his fanclub- i mean the illidari will be so dissapointed...so illidan killed the optimus prime of the naaru, when do we get to kill him again? I mean surely the army of the light isn't going to simply sit back and follow illidan -a fel corrupted abomination- after he killed their leader.
After all is said and done...Illidan is still an ass.
I liked Illidan for a second there. Now he's antagonizing Turalyon, Illidan must die.
And yet Turalyon calls Illidan 'betrayer' - rightfully.
Yeah that was a lot. I think that Illidan saw many parallels between Xe'ra and Sargaras--both are these massive cosmic powers which want him to sacrifice his own autonomy to serve their cause. With Sargaras he did it for a cause, but now he, and his demon hunters, are defined by what they have given. And for someone like Xe'ra to just erase that invalidates all that he has ever done or fought for. Remember, he gave his life in pursuit of his cause. Like other people have been saying, I agree that Xe'ra may lack understanding of mortals: it uses them as pawns and fails to understand them as multi-faceted beings. Though I really think Illidan was also in the wrong here. Xe'ra is the prime Naaru and would likely be a key to defeating the Legion (I know we do it anyway but this is a game and we have to win). I'm 110% sure that its death is going to come back and haunt us later.
I wonder how long before the get to the "not at all cliched" part where Illidan ends up being the hero anyways cuz "thats the prophesy, he was supposed to kill the naaru, we just left that part out."
so Xe'ra was evil confirmed? Allera even says that Xe'ra had her put in a cage and tortured before this quest occurs!
All of the comment writers above are totally blind. Don't you guys see that Illidan is just a usual Demon huntar.d like the players who plays dh in the game? :DHe's just a raging kid who absolutely not giving any f..k what he destroys when he's raging. This cinematic was just made to reflect the players' behavior xDOh and tell me what happens when you make Turalyon angry? He runs towards you and swing his sword soooo strong that you can stop simply with bare hands?Nerf Illidan, buff Turalyon pls :D
Illidan "Sometimes the hand of fate must be forced." except when it's HIS fate apparently, then he gets to kill a leader in an attempt to weasel out of it. Looking forward to watching him bite it - again.
Now.. im interested in too see is how will death of last prime Naaru affect Paladins since they magic and power comes from the Light.Sure, there are some Naaru's left, but were talking about obsessively compulsive and a bit derailed mom of them all, "THE First Naaru."
