Hope we see TBC/Wrath eventually.
Really hoping classic succeeds purely because i want those TBC/WoTLK realms.
I hope that people eat their foot after this dies off in less than a year after launch and the devs have wasted this much time on it....Vanilla sucked....and yes, I played. I bet they keep this crap going with a small percentage of people but they couldn't keep mobile AH going because the man power "wasnt worth it"
I loved playing WoW in the past. People came to WoW to play a game, have some fun, get some friends. Today is everything about who has higher iLvL, higher rio score, better raid progression blindly following the certain guides all over the internet etc... People should realize that they are not playing the game anymore, they just copy the playstyle of someone else.
"The main difference from Classic to Modern WoW is the challenge that the world itself presents, every creature can pose as a threat, something that doesn't happen when you are already the Hero of Azeroth, slayer of Titans."This made Vanilla so amazing, since while leveling the world it self presented a challenge and it was hard, I am so looking forward to show people how Vanilla really was and that maybe one da, People and blizzard understand that:"The main difference from Classic to Modern WoW is the challenge that the world itself presents"This can also happend in Current world of warcraft!PS: for the cry babys and the 200 times leveling people, there could be Heirloom potions that boost you up while you level, that way those who have done it a 100 times, they can have the option to go fast by it, not buy destorying the world for others with Heirloom gear and or beeing negative at the forums because they hate leveling (not hate, they have just done it to much)This will be amazing and it will open the eyes of so many, Blizzard this was an amazing idea and it will bring amazing things to people and the current World of Warcraft :)
I expect Classic brings players the possibility of playing such an amazing game with new textures
Quick question: night in classic means really night like it use to be?
Server forums was a thing. People did taunted each other talking about how they corpse camped someone in a PvP server.I think there will be classic guilds. Not too many, but they will be there, after the 100000 that join and 99900 that leave after 2 weeks.
I originally never would have thought or said this, however, I now believe that Classic WoW will surpass Modern WoW in active users. Never could have imagined me saying this even 5 months ago, but here we are...
One of the main reasons why vanilla was great is because EVERYTHING was new and exciting and you had to "explore" things yourself or ask around in general/trade chat / friends/guildies.There was "first" to everything. Doing zone quests, doing dungeons, class specific quests, just going out in the wild and killing random mobs, even just trying to discover all the flight paths. Everything was fresh, new and exciting. It didn't matter if it took you ages to ding a level and hitting level 60 was an accomplishment. It was all about the "journey" and not the destination. No doubt classic will have a LOT of interest when it's released. It may even bring back many players who have left or interest new players to WoW who might like to check whatever the fuzz is all about this "good old vanilla" WoW that revolutionized gaming 15 years ago.But if you have played it before you will NEVER have the sense of exploring, discovering or doing "new and exciting" things because you have already done that. You have already taken your first steps into the Elwyn Forest, or in Teldrassil or any other starting zone and you have already taken your first steps into the main cities of your faction. You have already done your first class specific quests, leveling up and gaining new talents and abilities. You have already walked/run on the road to discover new flight paths, you have already gotten scared of "?" level mobs while on the road and tried to avoid them that may have failed miserably. You have already taken your first long journey on foot from Ironforge to Stormwind or taken the boats from one continent to the other.Basically, you have already done all of your "firsts" and you will be left with only the annoyance part of the old game where things took a LOT longer and no quality of life improvements that people are used to in last 15 years.I will be "testing" Classic WoW too when released but not sure for how long I will keep playing it regularly when I already know about most of the quests, storylines, how to do things, all the zones, how to get from A to B etc. etc. When it will take me weeks to hit level 60 (if not months), I don't know how long I will stick around. It may change my mind and may end up being my main game to play but I somehow doubt it.
I'm still torn about Classic. I started playing during the last half of BC and I loved it, it was challenging and like someone said earlier, everything was new. I'm one of those people who feels the need to do EVERY quest in a zone before moving on and I did them all back then. I'm not sure how new and exciting it would be. Current WoW already takes up enough of my time, do I need to play a classic version which will take longer in every aspect of the game? Don't get me wrong, I'm not the instant gratification type, I have absolutely no issues with how difficult leveling will be in Classic, I just know that I can't devote the time needed for it. The other issue is that I'm not a very social person. I'm not a big guild person, I don't like having to interact with people that much. Back in BC I never did dungeons because that required getting a group together and I never felt confident enough to find people to do so. And, I know some people will hate me for saying this, I like the new graphics. I would be more inclined to play Classic if it had today's graphics. I don't know if they're not doing it because it would cause technical issues or if its so people can be more nostalgic, but I remember when my poor tauren had a triangle for a nose and I love how it looks now. After all that I've said about why not to play then why am I conflicted? Because I would really like to know what WoW was like in the beginning. When pets you tamed mattered and would run away if you didn't feed them. To remember the class quests to get druid forms and pally mounts and so forth. Back when professions mattered. Some of this was around when I played but I wonder to what extent things were different. And the number one reason... to do the opening of AQ quests because I feel like that was one of the most epic events in WoW and I would have loved to have been there.
All of the 2 previuous long post + a bit of irony :I wonder how the haters of the 'no-fly' period will react because if you hate having to ground mount from A to B, you will hate it being not lonly the only option back then, but being able to buy mounts a long term goal, especially the fast one. Running trought 2 or 3 zones because you're a Horde player and after Arathi you need to go to the Badlands. Felt good to be a shaman back then.I love also reading "Yeah, we also need a BC / WotLK servers". Guys, I hope you're not also in the camp of "The pure Classic with none of the QoL improvements". First BC introduced fly mounts. Sure, mount speed wasn't spread accros all mounts back then, but being able to fly from A to B is an important improvement, and about Wrath.... well, It's when the ilvl madness started and PU groups really started (ICC was the main culprit). Sure WoW was at his peek, but also where things began to go downward. If you didn't played the beta, go check Hazel coverage on YT, you will have an idea how counter intuitive it could be just to pick quests and how challenging it could be to perform such a basic task. Even I who played back then couldn't figure it out for 5 minutes.Thatbeing said, I wish a lot of fun to all of those eager to play it. Me, even if I loved it back then, but I will happily stay with modern. I'm not masochist or nostalgic enough to enjoy playing through it's numerous flaws, hardcore game mechanics.
