I use undermine journal a lot, but if I could have anything it would be something that could calculate what crafted items are profitable without me having to do any set up or importing of prices.
Regarding flipping, I swear there is no better feeling than selling an item for 2x, 3x, 4x the price. I shiver everytime I open my mailbox and see a giant flip sold. Still, I prefer steady income via crafting, flipping can be quite a bit risky.
I tried to use TSM once but found the UI really confusing. Is there a good guide reference available somewhere?I really miss the remote auction house. I definitely don't make as much good as I used to. Hopefully it will come back in some form but I doubt it.
"Do you miss running missions at-scale for gold-making? If it were possible to generate gold consistently through missions but requiring 10, 20 or 50 characters, would you do it?" Hell yes. I've done it both in WOD and in Legion, and also because so many other people were doing it, people had plenty of gold, which affected the economy in a positive manner for me: - people were buying more expensive / vanity items, so I could sell more stock (mounts, pets, transmogs) - people were more eager to buy boosts and for bigger sums - people had "easy gold" so they'd spend it on convenience like items for quests, levelling professions, vendor items from remote corners, generally things you could grind / fetch yourself, but if you have the gold you can take the lazy way out and buy them in a second - people were more eager to tip generously for small favours, like crafting, mage portals, help summon, sign guild charter - 1k gold was "nothing" to them - it was easy to afford heirloom upgrades, flying on alts and similar "flat" expenses due to steady flow of gold from capped characters Generally Legion was good for alts because it also had CONTENT for alts, all the variety of class campaigns, class mounts, artifact appearances, mage tower challenges, different transmogs per class, BFA is lacking all that unfortunately. But generally I feel now that RAF was nerfed and xp pots removed (old 300% ones, not the new warfront 10% ones) it's more effort / sunk cost to get an alt up (whether you decide to level it manually or buy a store boost). So if you want an alt for goldmaking, it's an up front investment. In that case I wouldn't mind gold generation based on "alt armies". I did mind it when it was near effortless to produce endless army with RAF-cheesing, and your only limit was after how many garrisons / order halls you'll fall asleep from drudgery. Personally I never went into the territory of multiple accounts filled with alts. Max I had was around 15. Logging them twice per day, sending missions, done. I didn't like the change to make missions respawn every 6-8 hours, as that forced more logins per day to cover all the missions.
Older expansions stuff its been a constant flow of gold for me.Not a huge amount but still a steady flow.I have not dive into the expulson market yet tbh.For me, the professions have not been a good source of gold in BfA, not sure if its from being in a low population server.
I certainly miss the Missions with high Gold rewards. And if they'd be still here, I'd still only do them on my Main.
Definitely miss WoD garrison mission level of gold making and would love for it to come back
Which strategy is most profitable for you? Do you combine all three equally or focus on one method more than others? Do you prefer a different gold-making strategy like farming?I would focus on one since im a beginner goblin and theres a lot of factors to consider like population and costs. It can be confusing some times. I prefer farming because I know the goal and what to do, its very straightforward with minimal variations to consider.
I really miss the garrison gold missions, nowadays is not worth it to send troops on gold mission for 100g.Also TSM it's really complicated, I'm not made for it, it feels really hard to master, so my gold income isn't so good as previous expansions. :(
Tailoring has been really good for me this expansion, the first expansion where i have crafted more than bags for the auction house. And the crafted gear still sells for a decent price!
Tailoring has been my primary gold maker almost as long as I've been playing WoW (since BC). Initially I mostly just sold bags for a long time, but there's lots of profit to be made with some of the old stuff!People alllways need bags, though :P
my gold comes from tailoring & cooking
Oh wow that discord bot actually sounds really usefully, I might just use it in the future!
In my opinion they should add a vendor like legion to spend the expolsum with trading materials, always usefull. I am so "afraid" to dive into the exposlum market, i am hoarding them for the moment
Do you miss running missions at-scale for gold-making? If it were possible to generate gold consistently through missions but requiring 10, 20 or 50 characters, would you do it?Yes T-T I miss this so much. I made about ten million gold in WoD and probably 100 million or more in Legion (Had quite a lot of alts with max level gold missions unlocked (:) I've been keeping up with my war campaigns hoping maybe they'll add in more lucrative missions again, since in Legion it was tied to the Argus storyline. Right now my main source of income has been world quest emissaries. I still use the mission table, because that's still 200 gold, and when you have a lot of alts it adds up, but ... it's nothing compared to what it was.
I like the new Discord auction price bot. Needs a bit more information posted on what it does though, seems a bit lacking. Are there any bots that show what a person has up for auction or tracks auction sales per toon? That would be nice for a private channel to show info w/o logging into game.
I was encouraged to see Draenor tailoring discussed, because it takes very little effort to set up one or more Garrisons to farm materials for your tailor, and a 30-slot bag is still very competitive. And anyone who doesn't have an Elekk Plushie is a sad person, even if they don't know it.
I truly miss having my garrisons/Order Halls set up with a brigade of geared followers/champions and resources to burn in exchange for gold, profession materials and raid missions for gear. It was well worth every minute of the day to make sure each and every character had their troops trained, championed properly outfitted and missions flowing constantly. The gold was the primary reason for doing it but having extra seals for raiding and occasionally a worthwhile piece of equipment drop was the cherry on top of a very profitable daily operation.
I do miss the high-yield gold missions. At one point I was making so much that I could use the gold to purchase a token, thus keeping my subscription active. If they were to bring them back I would be on them like a fat kid on a chocolate cake (mmmm cake). But I also miss when tokens were 20k when they released. As for the guides themselves, the advice provided isn't surprising. And the advice is applicable across nearly every MMO with a player-driven economy. (I've heard the same provided advice from my FC leader for one of my FF XIV alts).Still a good read, though.
