Method cleared my stock out completely over a couple days, on a ton of different markets - it was insane!
Hmm old video 2018-08-21 ! obsolete information does not work as it says about skining!
I'd be wary about jumping into Skinning, as many people are likely to do so now, which should cause the price of these items to go down. Its still safe considering how little time it takes to get skinning up on an alt, but just be aware of that.
The only decent way I can see skinning doing well is if you were to sell the stuff you skinned by trying to farm briny flesh since that is quite expensive. I do have some characters on different servers to try to flip pets but that is as far as I go. I don't feel I should have to spend so much time farming though. There should be enough gold made just by passively doing the emissionary bags and sending out my NPCs.

Skinning is an inherently volatile market from my experience. On Kul Tiras EU I personally seemed to be in control of the market for a little while during Firelands - Skinning to farm one type of mat to flood the AH at high prices then taking advantage of the artificial 'crunch' on another, cycling to make money.Granted, Kul Tiras EU horde was practically dead, but you also have to think of the other side of it - (from my experience at least) LW seems to be a profession that people don't take all that much. Used to be it had a strong wrist enchant and skinning gave crit but both have been gutted over the years. Overall i'd wager so many more would be taking production on a main and then just the catch all herbing/mining for easy gold on alts - and given the general crap quality in crafted gear... yeah i'd guess the skinning market is something that will only get smaller outside of people that needed to craft LW for the world first race. It would theoretically be a market that crashes almost immediately.
There is no doubt that the insane money from garrisons and order halls inflated WoW's economy. At the end of Legion I was making between 38k and 50k gold PER DAY. I ended the expansion with just over 16 million gold. The devs are 100% correct in actively removing gold from the economy. But they're doing it wrong. Increased costs for consumables and repairs are regressive, meaning they only really impact poor people. The devs should be removing gold progressively, from rich players that borderline exploited mission table rewards like me. How to do that, you ask? It's simple.1) Add a vendor to the game selling 3 awesome looking completely new BoE mounts for 1 million gold apiece. 2) Tell players the vendor will be removed from the game in 90 days, and those mounts will never, ever be available again by any means.3) There is no #3, that's it.Rich guys like me will spend ALL our saved money on those mounts, figuring that due to their limited availability prices will go up. This removes that money from the economy forever. And prices absolutely will go up, nobody is being tricked here. It's a win/win.
I am personally very happy that gold price is increasing. I'm playing only since MoP but ever since then the gold value was decreasing every single expansion. Finally it is increasing. As for repairs - ever since I first started raiding back in MoP there were always some people in my guild or raid group that had issues with repair. Always. Even back in legion with insane amount of free gold from checking your phone when you're not even playing... As for consumable costs - Blizzard has nothing to do here (except for recipies as is). Flasks/potions/food cost as much as people are willing to pay for them instead of lets say swapping profession or leveling an alt and gathering for themselves.
Expulsom is now relatively easy to stockpile, and the expulsom requirement for gear that you might want to keep is relatively low. Each profession has at least one piece of purple BOE gear that can be crafted for 1 expulsom plus some cheap mats. (Example is the 310 purple wristguards for leatherworkers). Each purple piece of gear disenchants into a veiled crystal (minimum reasonable sale price is ~650 gold, with fluctuations up to 1000 gold, depending in the market moment). There is also an approximately 1/5 chance of getting an umbral shard with each disenchanted purple piece of gear.I've been making 50k gold every three or 4 days... Just sayin'
I should add: that, of course my gold revenue from this process is dependent on keeping up with the expulsom needed, which does entail world quest grinding and green BOE collection. My personal commitment to keeping this rolling is dependent on my time availability - raiding and M+ with my guild is top priority for me, and work/life/family requirements always trump WoW.That means that the 50k/4 days (approximately) is something that I've been able to do a couple of times when I had the free time and motivation.I've a feeling that a really dedicated gold farmer could a) up the gold revenue quite significantly, and b) maintain it for quite a while...Veiled crystals will always sell well due to the ever-present need for enchants as people gear up.The low-end mats for low-end purple gear are very plentiful and easily obtained. And with the new expulsom world quests from main cities and turtles, plus the trinket world quests, plus the 1/15 chance per green BOE, expulsom gathering is not terrible.Seems quite sustainable to me.
