As of today I’m no longer an employee of @Blizzard_Ent. Wasn’t my choice. I wanted to retire here. I was just laid off from my dream job.Probably not best for me to tweet right now but it was an honor being your CM @Warcraft community. I love all of you.— Caden of the House House, First of his Name (@CadenHouse) February 12, 2019

After 12 years of being under the Activision Blizzard umbrella, I am now a free agent. Both companies are getting a ton of shit, but I have worked with some of the best and most talented people in the business at both places. I wish them nothing but success. This is upsetting news, I 'm so sorry to those who will be affected by this! Lets keep the discussion in here civil and respectful as this is a sensitive subject
"This is fine."
Been there and it sucks! Hope those people well be ok. But also hoping the quality and service wont be effect to badly.
I'm glad I didn't get the job I almost got at Blizz then lmaoNo, I'm not, I still wish I had gotten it
I hope the best for the unlucky ones getting the ax. May they promptly get back on their feet. Also:"While our financial results for 2018 were the best in our history, we didn’t realize our full potential."which translates to:"While our financial results for 2018 were the best in our history, we feel really good about screwing over 8% of our workforce so I, Bobby Kotick, can get a much larger bonus this year."
Feels like Blizzard is just fading away with all that's going on.
Don't let this distract you from the fact that Nintendo is holding a Nintendo Direct tomorrow at 9am AEST.
Record Profits = "Let's fire people!"
Layoffs SUCK! While nice to see Warcraft staffing up....layoffs still suck!
This has just got to be crushing for the people getting cut. I hope this opens up more and better opportunities for them.
Maybe they should worry more about their current games than developing more half-assed new games.
Looks like 8% of employees with lose their job according to the call.
blizzard is walking corpse at this point
Honestly, I think this is the worst consequence of the videogame increasing. I mean, there are more people playing videogames than 10 years ago. Near to each house has a videogame console (such like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc) and everyone is playing. Everyday a pretty big amount of videogames are bought, and it is an even bigger amount of money. It's not a secret companies like Activision doesn't care the quality of their games, they only need a good marketing campaign and new Call of Duty to make money again. But if you want to make more money and fight against the menace of other games (like Fortnite or Apex Legends), you will need to make changes... and evolving is not a short term solution, fire people yes.So, this is a disgusting solution for nothing. And they suck for doing this.I'm sorry and, courage Blizzard employees, we are with you on this.
