I appreciated the a-z gold making guide. It's a great idea. I spent a lot of time hunting arcane crystals to make arcanite bars on my server and finally broke down and farmed them. They're definitely a good resource if you don't mind farming.
Have you been farming eggs? Have you ever invested in holiday items to resell in the future, how did it work out?yea actually my first investment that sold from holidays was the springstrider! I sold it around December and it went for 70k on my server and Im on a high pop server. Was super happy about it since it was my first investment. I have others like pets and mounts from dreanor but the money isnt there yet.
I recently discovered the value of Frantumazione Abissale myself as I have been collecting achievements in Northrend dungeons and raids on an enchanter. I had been comparing the value of one Abyss Crystal to the vendor value in order to decide whether to DE or vendor, and was vendoring a fair bit, but Abyssal Shatter seems to yield 6 Infinite Dust and 1 Greater Cosmic Essence on average, which on my server is worth at least double what any of those items vendor for.
Yep. Been farming eggs to get the new items for this year but gave up after getting the hearthstone due to too much traffic. It's a battle every year and just tired of it. I don't buy things to resell later, never have enough bag space to hold them for that many months!
Collecting mounts, pets and toys always took huge part of my game time. I got some decent amount of cool items and was able to keep up with all new stuff up to legion. Lately i tend to give up on many cosmetics. Brutosaur, spider and other cool gold sinks just make me sad on sight..... About professions. Dunno why, but bfa leatherworking don't feel engaging for me. i am not enough motivated to farm recipes, even to in legion i had only 3 recipes missing. Too many things in BfA just exhaust you.
It's good to see those new flasks aren't requiring 5x of each current flask to craft now.I about gave up on alchemy when I first read that honestly
tuxedo shirt will make the charm for me it sells still low but have many of it.
In 8.2 i will surely keep my current professions - tailoring and enchanting. Those two combined can have good results when it comes to gold making. Surely looking forward to new recipes. About vendor mounts - im not so good at gold making yet. Rather gonna buy wow token instead!
For me, Herb / Mining on one toon and Alch (with Transmute specialization) / Scribe on other is always profitableI still remember WoTLK days when I could sell my daily CD for a nice chunk of Gold as well as my Transmutation were a thing
New pots/flasks are cool. I hope mounts will cost less because it's 10x times harder to get 500k in BfA than it was in WoD or Legion.
I've seen prices on world event items but personally don't like to farm them very much. Tried to farm some brightly colored eggs but its time consuming if more players farming them. Best time was early in the morning or late at night where 350-400 per 30 minutes are good number. But still boring and time-consuming if u want to get enough like 20 of pink rabits are near 220k on my server still will cost 4000 colored eggs and 5-6h raw time to farm doing same thing over and over again.
I'm not a huge fan of the complete reset 8.2 is going to do to professions. Previous expansions, we've had some new things, new herbs and ore aren't a surprise, but completely new flasks, food, and potions without any requirements of the old materials is odd - this almost feels like an expansion level reset, it's a little much for a patch I think. I wonder if this is perhaps because they expect a lot of people to come back for 8.2 and want everyone to be on roughly equal footing again?
I made a lot of gold in legion and could buy lots of tokens, now gold making is very slow, I don't have time for AH work because I would rather play, preferring to get mogs, pets, mounts and toys. So using alts to get those.I don't find the time to keep reposting stuff but have a steady stream of gold from old recipesI assume that token prices relate to the amount of gold around, so as the token price is roughly half what it was in legion I assume gold in the economy is about half what it was.I am saving what gold I do have to buy tokens if the price comes down more, although it appears to have stabalised for a bit.I wonder if tokens are not being bought as much due to needing lots more gold to buy some of the mounts. What is it that drives token purchases, what do people want the gold for, mounts, raiding or a variety of things.
How do you feel about starting over with professions in 8.2? Would you prefer to keep what you have now and get different recipes/mechanics to empower your crafted products? Do you have enough gold to buy all of the new vendor mounts in 8.2?well,i feel that my professions are very useless, but i plan to continue crafting things like mounts and pets, but not armor or empower items. And i do not have enough gold to buy more than 1 of those mounts, but i think that gryphons are very bad looking mounts,so i quess that i don't buy any of them.
I always try to collect new pets, mounts and toys from world events as soon as they are added. After getting them, I continue working towards duplicate pets or mounts, but only to a certain point. After all, grinding event tokens can be extremely time-consuming, especially with lunar festival. Furthermore, pets are not easy to sell so I don't recommend this method of gold-making.
Responding to:
Farming noblegarden stuff: Nope. Back in the day, when the Long strange trip achievement was per character, I got it on 3 chars, so I really like when an event does NOT add new stuff. I farmed enough eggs for the toy, that is okish, but I don't need any more of it.Price of mounts: At the moment I don't plan to shell out that much gold for mounts that shouldn't cost any more than their brethren with a different color. While I don't remember how much those were, in order to have those prices be ok with me Blizzard would need to cut a zero from them. The sad part about those stuff other than special longboi/warframe/spider equivalents is, that in my opinion the real goblins don't even notice dropping 10 million into gold sinks. Once you have multiple chars/guilds with gold cap, there is no noticable difference between having 12 or 11 times the gold limit. Blizzard only hits the wrong players with the stuff.Professions: Sure, lets just upgrade one of the few professions - Alchemy - with stuff that is always in demand, giving them stuff to keep them in business. As an engineer, I'm already salty at all the stuff that nonengineers will be able to do or even craft in Mechagon. Does it fit the zone? Sure. But why have the profession when it shows there that it isn't needed?
I haven't farmed eggs since I spent a stupid amount of time back in MoP running around to get enough to buy the mount and one of the rabbits only to realise how ugly the bird was. Although I have gathered enough eggs over the last few years to get a couple of Spring Rabbits which I then upgraded to rare quality and tried to flog on the AH to little success. I'm fairly certain that most of the Noble Garden stuff just doesn't sell considering how easy and available it is to gather the currency for the items in comparison to Brewfest which is locked to dailies. Not to mention I tend to see a dozens of Springstriders listed year round that never seem to get bought up.
I did farm some noblegarden eggs couple days ago, part of my usual annual bunny-run to collect enough for whatever was new this year (new hearthstone toy and 3 bunny ear mog's in this case). I did luckily also nab a free springstrider mount from my first egg too! :O I have invested in the past in holiday items for sale... like the pets from hallows eve and midsummer (usually bought with leftover marks gained from alts running all round the world for free easy XP). I haven't really found they sell all that well though :\
"How do you feel about starting over with professions in 8.2?"I've taken a break from BFA a month or so after its launch, but I'm still checking WoWhead now and then. Reading all this excited stuff about 8.2 is making me want to resub. Considering I haven't farmed any mats for the last months I have no problem starting all over and capitalizing on it!
