I CANNOT bring myself level another character. I have done the leveling gring far too many times. I have seen all the content, done all the quests, all the story lines too many times already. And I REFUSE to pay $60 to boost a character. It's time to reduce the leveling experience. Too many of us have done it too many damn times.Personally, I think any account with two or more max level characters should be able to boost a new character to current expansion starting level.
LMAO"Every level should feel usefull and rewarding".Yes, and the real good solution for this is to actually design your game and your leveling in such a way that the 120 feel levels rewarding with 120 improvements to your char. But yeah, let's just "remove" the "useless" level instead of making them usefull. Much easier to do, right?
I have levelled about 6 characters from zero to 120 in BFA.Hell yes, we need a friggin Level Squish! The last 40 levels were horrible!
I think it would be fine.
My main worry is how Blizzard are gonna mess up soloing old content, if the cap will be set to 60, will I be able to even do ICC easily? What about WoD raids? Blizzard haven't managed item level squishes very well so I'm worried about a level squish too.
Not in favour. Blizzard just won’t do it properly. They add fear catch up mechanism during expansion so you can skip previous raid tiers and jump to the current one on alts. Why not just do something similar for leveling? Probably because it would mean people would play less and they’d have to release more content more frequently. I don’t see any solution to this working in anyone’s favour.
Doesn't really matter that much if at all to me, how my character plays is all that I'd be concerned with.
So, uh, what's the point, actually? If it's to reduce levelling time to current max level, wouldn't it be easier to instead reduce the required exp - the opposite of what they did during Legion? If the levelling time stays the same, why bother at all? We haven't got any per-level rewards since they switched talent systems, and currently talents cap at WoD max level.
They for sure need to do something about the leveling. Would rather see a talent tree or some type of progression without a level squish. I’ll be interested to see what they come up with if anything though.
In theory reducing the number of levels needed to hit maximum power and increasing rewards as we rank up sounds wonderful. Will it work out? Just think back to the last Level Squish. How long did it take Ion and Blizzard to fix the plethora of bugs, issues and outright disasters their over hyped changes wrought? The answer is rather surprising: They're still finding errors because they only test the current expansion content! Now imagine Blizzard applying their lackadaisical approach to altering the levels of every player and creature across multiple worlds possibly while squishing item levels yet again and all the while ignoring any feedback and criticisms from a massive player base actually experiencing the nightmare they've had thrust upon them. Blizzard has a lengthy track record of promising things then either going back on their word or completely altering their actions to the point the original idea is nothing but a mean specter of itself, a nearly forgotten echo haunting players to this very day and beyond. My answer is an emphatic 'No' to the idea of any squish in the near future. I just don't believe the current developer team can pull it off without creating a complete disaster that will take years to fix.
The power squish wasn't well received as it felt like losing power. People did adapt but this is going to feel like losing levels so I suspect it'll be somewhat worse.
I don't want them considering how to hang onto as much of the $60 it costs to boost when they do this. They should also consider getting more powerful while raising a level, not just when you hit a new one.
No please no to level squish. It's not going to change anything, just give an illusion of progress. Incremental small increases in a level are better. Although I'd rather see you get stronger (training your weapon skills was a great idea back in the day by actual use). Or have paragon type additional abilities skills or extra buffs that you earn. There are lots of ways to go other than reworking the whole thing for no valid reason.
I truly fail to se the point of a level squish other than as a means of suckering people into thinking that they are getting more “meaningful” levels. I have absolutely no reason to think that getting five levels post squish would take any less time than getting fifteen before it. You’d still be putting in the same amount of time and getting the same number of talents but some how smaller numbers are better?
A level squish is arbitrary. It would still take the same time to level, you would just be getting less levels during that time. Even if they squished the level cap to 60, with the current talent system, every level wouldn't feel like it mattered. There would still be milestone levels that are more important than others, and when it takes 3 hours of questing to get there, whether you get 20 levels or 5 in that time, it's not going to feel any different at the end.
If they did the level squish I think I'd rather start over with a new character and our current ones become a hero of the past going from 120 to 60 isn't going to feel all that great but seeing statues of our 120's scattered around the world as we're leveling would be cool
