Mostly playing, but still selling. New enchants and old bags. There are people posting Hexweave at 1.5k but I just post mine at 2.5k and set it to 48 hrs. Most still get sold.
Crafted gear has become absolutely useless. I can't use tailoring to gear my two alts anymore as everything is soulbound. The only good thing that tailoring has now are the bags, which are an easy sell most of time time. Thankfully my alchemist is still useful for all of my toons.
Good job blizz with this exp nerfing. Trade chat will become cleaner.
The only thing i make with my engineering anymore are the battle res items and the mount(s). I dont really mess with many other professions anymore. Its a shame really.
I agree with everything said about the transmog market. It's nearly impossible at least on my server to give certain transmogs away. The fact that once you obtain it its across all characters makes it that much harder to sell one. And Crafted gear is getting to be more difficult to sell as well. With gear tokens and everything now there is really no point to buy crafted gear. Tailoring like mentioned above is really only good for bags now. Seems the really only profitable professions is Enchanting and Jewel Crafting and leveling those up is a pain. It just seems as a whole that it is getting more difficult to make gold.
It's a shame that crafted gear has become so dead for alts. It seems to be still okay when you get into the raid quality peices but that's about it. :/
I mostly focus on preparing my character for the new raid. So the little extra time i got, i spend buying materials for cooking to sell food when the raid releases.
I think biggest twinks nerf is 8.2 patch with that kind of manapearl, rust$%^& @#$% and other endless garbage stuff in my bags, and esences which never be achieved by 1-2 twinks cuz farm kills
I received my Sylverian Dreamer from Blizzard yesterday since I already had a 6 month sub on my North America main account.
I'm glad twinking was nerfed. I feel like boosting services and even just recruit a friend has made it difficult for new players or even long returning players because a lot don't know what they're doing once they're at endgame. Even when they're trying to learn, people are so rude and toxic, they don't even want to spend the time to tell the person what they're doing wrong and just really mean.
I have recently began selling and farming transmog. So far, it has been really slow. But once in a while, some good drops become easy to sell. But there is still competition, especially in high population realm. It also becomes a hassle to deal with other players really dropping the prices of certain auctions, and making some not even worth posting. But luckily I have had other options like materials and mounts.
I like the new xp nerfs because that is not how leveling is meant to be, and you shouldn't buy carries. With boa gear you can easily do 110-120 at 30-45min per level depending on how familiar you are with the quest and if you have items like Goblin Glider Kit, that is more then fast enough.
I'm making gold and farming rares for mounts in 8.2. Great to have some new content!
If we're going to keep moving farther away from crafted gear being useful, I wish those professions that still have a lot of gear as their recipes would evolve with that. As many have said, tailoring is one that doesn't feel that great anymore aside from being a bag maker. It would be nice if they focused on recipes for unique gear pieces for transmog, or even additional alterations that could be done to gear. Something that might not be useful for actual gearing, but would still have at least some of a market.
Trade chat will be a little bit cleaner - now eliminate please the booster "communities".
Just resubbed for this patch and trying to get my head around it. Not making much gold atm. Bags were a steady income, maybe I'll get back to that.
The twink running nerf killed off a niche, but sizable market. I can understand why they did it, it was transferring a lot of gold between hands, but it still sucks that form of service selling got killed off.
How is patch 8.2 treating you so far? What have you focused on first, playing the new content or making gold?Initially I thought I could focus on making a bit of gold as I went, I've had reasonable luck selling the new "soggy" tmog stuff for lack of a better name, but professions rapidly dove into the toilet as quickly as a lot predicted, hell, within hours of the patch being playable the new enchants were being posted at a fraction of crafting cost, and 370 gear fared a whole lot worse. I was honestly surprised that the various new weapon/armour skins were selling as well as they have been, especially given the green armour pieces are just a slight colour variation to the benthic gear, but if it sells it sells hey :-P
Well farmers will be able to make a killing, herbalists skinners and miners. The crafting profs not so much the first week.
I think that the way they handled that twink situation is a good thing in the long run, but I think that right now people see it as really bad thing. I hope to see other ways of how people can make a lot of money getting xp.
