Idk about lich king expansion. But it may be a feature of an expansion. Lich king 2.0 would be kinda lame. It could be whatever threat causes the current lich king to raise a new generation. Revamping the starter zone and thus allowing all existing races to be death knights.

The only Races that do not make sense for Death knight are Lightforged and Void elves as both magic's they are infused with would kind of counter the necrotic. every other race more than likely can be raised and blizzard has stated that they wanted to bring in dks even in an interview. Plus we raised death knights ourselves in the Dk Campaign in Legion.... why can't we simply oh... I donno raise the hundreds of corpses of those that have died? While the whole mechanic thing for Heritage armor would be tricky I am more than happy sacrificing it to play a Kultiran DK or even a panda.

Well if we get a Shadowlands expansion what's stopping Bolvar from creating a 4th gen of death knight? Fight death with death makes sense to me. I personally can't wait and as soon as velf's become playable as Dk's I'm race changing my human to one.
Only thing we're now truly waiting for is gnome druids.
