Call me old fashioned, but this is the best for the game.
Glad to hear. Horde and alliance should stay separate. It's WARcraft after all
Good.
I only play trolls, but, honestly, I don't really get it. I mean, why not just let everyone join whatever like in the Warcraft d20 games. You'd still be able to play Warmode and whatever else, just fine. And with the level squish and "Exile's path" it seems like the perfect time to let one choose. Also seems odd that they added those Horde and Alliance logos to our character son the character select screen. Now that I think about it, it would also get rid of the whole "racial balance" because the racials would go across the board. With this, nothing is lost, the Factions would still have their identities and such, so it's really a weird idea to me as with class restrictions, but it is what it is. At least they saw my forum posts and gave us new skin customizations for the trolls, but this will always seem odd to me. I can fight other Horde in the arena, and NPC's join all kinds of enemy factions all the time. Oh well.
gotta keep those faction transfer "micro" transactions commin in
This is depressing. I don't want to cough up over $300 to swap all of my alliance to horde
they are never going to get rid of factions. they may become civilized but never fully merge like on survivor. maybe if they make a wow 2
mannnn... i was excited to play with players from the other faction. the faction split substantially divides the player base but for what countervailing benefit?
Meh. Let us play with friends!
More faction war? Great, just what we needed.Again.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLemmie play with friends an live out our rp fun of kicking ass as a team, goddammit!
So why'd they put faction symbols on each character at the selection screen, if they're keeping the divide?I don't want to switch factions. I like the Alliance. But my friends prefer Horde and I'd rather play with them.
It was now or never. We have our answer. At least I can stop hoping and just go back to playing the game I know without tension for future answers. It's forever.
wel that is a shame.
Great, so blizzard wasted our time then with pretty much all of 8.2 on building up cross faction to a limited degree. I don't see the point at all anymore in the crossroads cinematic especially considering how even if the alliance wasn't with Saurfang it would have likely ended the same way, with him dead and Sylvanas off to continue her mysterious, yet always going according to plan, scheme. Also are they actively trying ignore the huge imbalance between alliance and horde at this point. Look how long it takes Hall of Fame to close on Alliance compared to Horde. If that's a good balance to them, then I'm terrified to see what would be an imbalance to them.
Such a shame they still refuse to do away with this archaic system. With war mode around there's already a perfectly good mode to leave the PvE restrictions in place and another mode where the PvE restrictions exists as absolutely nothing but a nuisance as is. When the player champions have been working with other cross-faction player champions in the Legion class halls and are now joining these covenants with player champions of the other faction, there's so little reason to leave this dated system in that just about every other major MMO has rightfully done away with.Half the game's customization options essentially locked away if you want to be able to play with your friends existing characters without all starting again behind a wall of arbitrary guild, gold and inventory nuisances.
If this will happen this will stop to be known as World of Warcraft
