Suggestion: A segment detailing how people should start adjusting their TSM/AH habits in lieu of the declining economy. Things to avoid, things to tweak, etc.
While RMT organizations aren't new, boosting organizations for gold only really started momentum in Legion with the original Maw of Souls M+ carry (which people were doing for free, cause AP farm). Soon after that Gallywix and a couple of other boosting organizations started, and they grew massively with all the renewed interest in boosts, especially with M+ being an entirely new end game mode for boosting. With Gallywix going down, it wouldn't surprise me if other boosting organizations that claim to be 'only for gold' might be shady and doing RMT. (Not that I'm making any accusations mind you, I don't know enough about other boosting organizations to say that for certain). Blizzard taking action against Gallywix essentially is a warning shot for other boosting organizations, since if they are caught doing RMT, they'll get obliterated, and ANY association with them, even legitimate purposes like gold boosting, gets you banned. So the takeaway from this is to have caution working with boosting organizations especially if you don't know their reputation. Unless you know that organization is 100% squeaky clean, Blizzard might not consider if you just do gold legitimate boosting, and then ban you in the ban wave.I forsee more 'boosting players' and even high end guilds choose to handle the boosting side on their own, rather than rely on an external organization and get caught up in the ban wave.
Great post as always... nice to see some alternative farms as well. Have been hunting around myself for different areas even if they were not as efficient to mix it up. Hopefully this will allow for some of the constantly farmed ones to open up a bit as well. Thanks Samadan!
I love the way unlocking ranks by crafting the recipe multiple times. I always wished for it to work this way.
The posts are always providing helpful info and interesting angles, but I feel like the same thing is always ommited. On my realm the whole economy is ruined by multiboxing cheaters (some of them openly bragging about premium rotations, cheats, private commercial automation software, or the fact that even if sb reports them they make so much gold that they can just buy another accounts and pay their bills anyway by exchanging gold for real money). Almost no farm or flip except xmog/mounts/high end corruption gear is worth it anymore (zin-anthid is 3g each for instance and normal sellers are being undercut by 50% and it is not an exagerration). I enjoy gold making in wow but it is riddicullus, moreover if you optimise your routes and want to pick herbs you are being engaged in combat by multiboxing bots (and they got some of the toons spread around the route just for competition detection), it is not rare that my char is ganked by 7-10 chars (knowing even where my ghost is) while other toons of the cheater just farm herbs. Disabling pvp removes only the ganking aspect and cut profits by 3, so it is not really a solution. It doesn't matter if its noon or 4 a.m. No one is willing to fix this issue because these accounts equals money.
I could be happy seeing the idiot ranking system for crafting go away entirely. It adds absolutely nothing fun or interesting to the game. Tens of thousands in gold costs, plus grinding numerous exalted ranks to get there is a poor substitute for good gameplay.
Few questions, the gold farm. What is recommended? Normal/HC/mythic? What is this trick of the trade thingy? Clear all or just run from boss to boss? Like so much info/details missing my opinion.
For me, I noticed a crash in the consumables markets. My realm cluster was significantly above the markets such as Draenor (biggest non-pvp EU horde-heavy server) but now prices went down by about 60%. I asked around, and it seems that while supply side remains unchanged, the core consumers, particularly people who "worked" as boosters, have far less income recently for some reason or other, and are actually buying less and checking prices.Any guess is good on why there's less "income" circling around, but my money is on that wiped gold. Also, Blizzard seems to have something called "tainted gold". I know some boosters that were life-banned for "your account has been caught in posession of tainted gold, BANNED". No appeal, no explanation... but for someone who accepted 100s of thousands every day, whatever is "tainted gold" is a risk I suppose. This has led some boosters to listing random things (usually ore, potions, gems or the like) for ridiculous prices (say, one crit gem for 100'000k, four listed) and direct their clients to the AH... you pay for "services" by buying auction like that, which means the booster gets their money from AH (and sent from blizzard no less), risk free.Going forward, goblins will see any market stats squeued by transactions like that.
"gold sites if billions are wiped out from server economies which could mean we see a price increase of token as people will be forced to buy from Blizzard if they want gold."Am I missing something here, or he's just wrong? More people buy token from blizzard store = more tokens flood AH = token price decreases, not increases.
