While I have no issue with Blizzard fixing an unintended work-around for a problem (that they created), I do take umbrage in the fact that they were quick to fix this issue, while dragging their feet with other, more important ones.
its too late to fix the issue for this expansion, but its better that they hotfix ppl going to crazy lengths for a power boost. The workaround would def make many players forced to use it.
for a moment i thought they fixed the system.,.. ha, silly me
Made decent gold while it lasted.
i have a bellybutton!

They reacted quickly. (That's good in its own way.) But this is just a band-aid. They can keep patching holes all they want in the meantime, but similar problems are bound to occur unless they think of a better system as a whole. The scaling we've seen in use throughout BFA is laughably broken and inadequate. Not to mention they never explained to players how it actually works. So identifying clear and obvious issues, like Rextory did with gems, is nigh impossible for the run of the mill player. Even when the system is clearly broken and functioning improperly, players can't report on it without understanding how the system is intended to function in the first place. The scaling system is extremely opaque for no good reason.
Well, that just goes to show, PvE gear should be Banned from any PvP gamesetting or scaled so much down it is not worth entering a Rbg or Arena in pve gear But hey I've only played since vanilla so what do I know.Other than most ppl I see in Rbg are pve dressed, and outgear my pvp gear with same ilvl. And saying your too old to frag is a ridiculous notion! Those hotheads are easy to outplay without even a fight if you know your class. and thumbs up To ReXtroY.. at least he shares his findings with us and the community after he has reported this to blizz. In old days "bugs and &*!@ like this was exploited immensely" and no one knew why the hell some lowlvl nab could do what they do.
As a Wowdev you must the ashamed as hell that this broken system even went live.
Guess I have to de-jem all of my gear...
Seems like BLizz logic...Why not fixing main issue? Like thats so disapointing as a PvP player i farmed the sockets on my gear for the last weeks or months and its just useless it made my character even worse....
I guess I just don’t see the point of any of this. Unless you’re actively seeking out PVP battles against someone who is weaker or less geared than you are then the debuff shouldn’t matter to you. So the game is trying to make to players of different skill and different gear levels equal in some level to make PVP actually competitive? If that means lowering the higher person or artificially inflating the lower persons stats, it is want makes the game more equal. For the one half of one percent of players PVPing at the AWC levels they are all min maxed out the same and all probably have the exact same gear load outs, so the scaling and debuff isn’t even a thing in their world. If you’re actually worried about how broken a .6 ilvl change or a .5% increase or decrease in damage is going to affect you, maybe you shouldn’t be trying to gank the little guys in PvP and pick on ppl your own size? The only reason Blizz knee jerked this hot fix so fast is because there is another AWC starting this weekend and they probably didn’t want to have to deal with everyone running the exploit or complaining that Johnny awesome had an Unfair advantage because he Rextroy’ed his gear and The other team chose to play the game as intended. That’s to main reason they fast tracked this. If there hadn’t been an AWC scheduled this weekend, it might have been a non issue until 9.0...
Meanwhile Rextroy just release another meta of stacking DK in a team to vastly increase enemy CD and boosting their magical damage taken in his latest video. Not sure if this is what Blizzard intended.
just remove this trash for wpvp. arena, yes should be evenly matches to a point. world pvp should be subject to how strong a person is. i shouldnt be at 482 and get destroyed by someone in 320 blues simply because im gimped by having mythic gear. let them cry about how they can be steamrolled in open world...who gaf...remove the fortniter mindset from wow and bring back the progression rpg mindset. this trash is only there to keep them coming back because they're the highest population ofonline gamers currently...empty headed adhd tidepod kids just looking for someone to trollf or their 0 subscription stream hoping to get rich griefing.if you're in the world and you have strong gear, someone in weaker gear should lose, the end. not be buffed while you're gimped just to make things "fair" arena...maybe...with some tuning, open world, no, they get what they get based on how much they put into the game
now bliz needs to prevent ppl to join a totaly unbalanced losing battleground please and then we are set
