Each of you who are critizicing this map and saying it could be done much more better: I'm waiting for your version! For real!Looking forward to see it. I love cool maps!
i like it, amazing it is!
Is this an out of season April Fools joke?
For all of those folks hating on the map, I encourage each of you to settle down, eat a banana, and provide your own, presumably superior, interpretation (and by this I mean, YOU give us a map). Otherwise, I would request that when faced with a piece of art, the enjoyment of which is purely subjective, you "tut tut tut" inside your own head and leave other people to either like it or not like it all their own. That is, after all, the very essence of the old "if you have nothing to say" chestnut.I for one, thought this piece was well done. It's not done in a style that is or should be to perfect literal scale or detail, IS reminiscent of some old styles of maps, and definitely has a pleasant and playful use of color and imagery that makes the whole thing a fun exercise. Especially during a pandemic, it's a fun project and the artist should be proud of their efforts.
Ist this somehow something like Heroes III ?Cuz it does really seems to be looking like this old fart Might and Magic game i spend alot of time playing.
The little landmarks are nice, but the map doesn't feel right. It feels likes its been squashed way too much.
Hey, if you are the person who made this and you're reading all the toxic muck about it in the comments here, know that I liked it, it was cool :)
Could be a nice template for a row of postal stamps if all other continents will be made too.:)
Everyone complaining how bad this is, but I don't see them doing any better.I for one enjoy it even with its flaws, it reminds me of old maps of Earth and how different everything looked because they could only plot from the ground :D
Disclaimer: the below message is my opinion and my opinion only, and it is in no way meant to hurt or insult the maker of this map.Okay so here we go... as someone who has been using Inkarnate regularly, I do not think this is good, at all. Inkarnate is a really easy and intuitive tool to use, and it allows you to really create beautiful maps, but this to me looks like a doodle at best, or something someone who opened Inkarnate for the first time would do. That being said, I really appreciate the idea of the author and I think they should try again, using all that Inkarnate has to offer! Anyone who is saying the author didn't put any effort into this is highly mistaken: this might not look polished, but it still took time, and anyone using Inkarnate should recognise that. Now, a few constructive tips on my side:- Try using the continent tool for your coast lines, they will look much better, and add a ripple effect to put on an emphasis on the separation between land and sea..- Try using the parchment colours, such as light parchment beige for the sea and medium parchment brown for the continents. - Try using the parchment style objects such as mountains, hills, etc. They are incredibly detailed, and you can change their size and density. Do not overuse them though or you will bloat the map.- For the bigger objects such as the crystals and world trees, put a filter on them to match the color palette of your map.- Take your time to polish everything, add all islands, correct the shorelines to match the official map, resize mountains properly, include rivers more precisely, add groves and smaller forest or jungle areas, label your cities, etc. It will take a long time, but it will make the difference.I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun doing so, again, I've fallen in love with Inkarnate as a map maker and it allows its users to do a lot, and give them a lot of freedom too. Use that to the most of it! Good luck, and have fun fellow map maker! ♥
this looks a bit like a HOMMIII map, but i love it nonetheless
