I have always hated the "made by" tag. Having some goofy name of a random in my bags specially. I use those bags for years (a whole expansion minimum).
Just buy from me and all of your legendaries will read <"Made By Torghast">. Problem solved.
A friend got a legendary <Made By Daddy>, I thought it was great and now I want Daddy to make all of my legendaries.
How is this a problem? It's 3 words you will only see while hovering that item....
If you care, then be selective about who you purchase your crafted items from on the Auction House. Pick someone whose name you like. The reason this exists is so you can look for that same person for crafting your higher rank item later on.
why does the same person need to craft a higher rank item? nowadays you just go to the auction house and buy the cheapest listing of whatever you're looking for.
How is this news? I dont like this to begin with. If I want to get a legendairy, I will buy cheapest. The only problem is somepeople have names I am like ehh, Why did blizzard allow that for instance. Why are people so asocial cause you can just add a crafter as a friend or what not in game and see if hes available instead of relying on the AH?
lmao why people are so mad on this xDI actually noticed this before and was happy that it have the crafter's name on it.So I thought maybe I try to make more legendary with my alts and have more of my alt's awesome names be speared around and used by other players. lolAlso on my Warlock coz I didn't level my tailor yet, I went to buy and checked the names to pick one that is funny if possible.Pretty cool thing imo lol
Seems like a neat bit of flavor to me, honestly. And a kind of "reward," at least as far as prestige goes, for crafting base legendary items for others to use.
This just be trolling How much grinding did you do exactly when the expansion has been out for less than two weeksAnd you already completed a legendary item? The white peices keep dropping like mad.Literally nobody is working hard for these. You must have no idea what a “grind” actually looks like
This is terrible.
Can someone confirm whether upgrading a legendary from one rank to another will retain the original base white item's crafter name, or gain the new one?
I can confirm that upgrading your legendary does NOT change the name in the "made by" tag.I crafted a rank 1 shoulders on my alt, bought a rank 2 from the AH from a random person, upgraded my rank 1 legendary to a rank 2, and it still says "Made by MyAltsName", instead of the person who made the actual rank 2.
Upgrading does not alter the name of the rank 1 crafter, so you are stuck with whomever crafted your first vessel. This was the first thing I noticed on my new set of legendary bracers empowered by the Runecarver himself, "Made by Greenlanter". Yay.
wowhead, u should post a new article about this, as I've seen quite a lot of people on forums talking about this as well. To avoid having your legendary crafted by some random player names, you can just level your crafting profession to 100, and craft the rank 1 armor yourself (which is super easy). Go craft the legendary at rank 1, and then buy whichever rank you prefer on the Auction House for upgrades. It will keep your character's name, rather than the other players.
