Kevin YoungArtstationWorld of Warcraft: Shadowlands - Revendreth ArchitectureDuring the development of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, I was responsible to help create the structural assets of Revendreth! I took on the task of painting tiling textures, 3D modeling, and UVing bridges, towers, walls, stairs, spires, turrets, and balconies.
As a whole, it's easily the largest amount of content I've ever created for a single architecture kit. The time flew by though, it was so much fun and I had a great time working with everyone involved in the project!
Huge shoutout to Jessica Dinh for leading the project and teaching me so much a long the way. She has been an incredible mentor!

If you've ever gone through Revendreth and fell into a large grate, I'm the one responsible. Unfortunately the inevitable death awaiting you in the bottomless pit below doesn't count toward my honorable kills. This thing is absolutely massive! It's easily the largest asset I've created! I've been a player of World of Warcraft since it's original release and I wanted to reimagine one of my favorite raids, Karazhan, into this project and used it as my main source of inspiration. It's been really great when I see people's responses often saying that it reminds them of it. I'm really proud of this one. It's going to remain a favorite for some time.

Additional Art Provided by the World of Warcraft Team.I was given the opportunity during the development of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands to create a couple boss spaces within the Castle Nathria Raid! This one is home to the Stone Legion Generals, Grashaal and Kaal! While I used Karazhan as a main source of inspiration throughout Castle Nathria, on this particular spot where the player emerges back outside, I tried to use another one of my favorite raids, Sunwell, as a source of inspiration, I wanted to recreate that feeling players got when emerging from the Eredar twins' boss room.

Possibly my favorite zone in WoW. I do wish that they would go darker in zones. Revendreth is a zone of perpetual night but the nighttime areas are still super bright. It would make the Ember Ward a lot more imposing if it was dark everywhere and the beams of light were breaking through. Drink an inky blackness potion and go around Revendreth. There is so much character to the zone; it's a story told just through the assets.
