Three Words: Video Games Live!I haven't been since '05 or so, but it's an outstanding show :)
I play the original WoW and tBC soundtrack on my speakers when I do homework, and sometimes when I sleep. For sleep, though, I usually just have a sitar playing in the background on my iPod. The track is only an hour and thirty minutes long, but that's all I need to fall asleep and stay asleep.
Heck, I think it's an awesome soundtrack too, and soundtracks are 90% of what I listen to. As for my favorite... some Fire Emblem themes do give me an excited shiver when I listen to them, and the FFVI music really gets me into the characters, but I'd say my favorite themes are from Zelda music. Also? The Twinrova music is AWESOME. Especially in stereo.
Music makes the world go round, that's how things work out. The soundtrack is one of the appeals for me (though I didn't get it), and the pet was also, admittedly (a huge part, actually. Want my Frosty!) but... as game music goes, I love 99% of it, but my favourite composer, and the man I think does the most amazing job of causing emotions to rise with his tracks is Yasunori Mitsuda. Dear god, love that man. <3
I am a HUGE fan of the Warcraft Music. I have Warcraft 2 on my iPod along w/ the Warcraft 3 soundtrack from when I got the collector's editions and friends burnt me copies of WoW, WoW: TBC and WoW: WotlK soundtracks. So I have all 5 and all of them are absolutely fantastic and amazingly composed. Best game soundtrack ever, yet it isn't ever really recognized as such. It really is a shame, but I hope people see this new iteration as the masterpiece it is.
Very interesting article, although it's not something that I myself would ever want to do.I always have and always will turn off the music in all the games I play as I tend to either listen to my own, or I am in ventrilo talking with friends as we play.My loss I suppose, but one I can live with.
Personally the music in The Storm Peaks when you are flying high in-between mountains is so very comforting to me. I get very relaxed when I hear it. The same is true of the music of Dalaran. Both are hauntingly beautiful.-Raw
I can't count the times i've travelled to Howing Fjord or Grizzly Hills just to relax while in some queue or just relax without doing anything, just listening to the music (i wrote this before i read what Stablemaster said, just noticed that) I also like Ironforge, the start's good, but a while into it (from 1.20 to the end)In Cata though i found a new favourite! It's a part of the Mount Hyjal soundtrack, not sure in what area it is. I just wandered around in Ashenvale and suddenly i heard the same soundtrack. And i really listened. Damn, that one's beautiful.I haven't found a name, but found it on youtube. And sorry about the YouTube links, it's where I listen to music =(
