The only hard part of this quest is finding the Cask of Merlot which is sold by Roberto (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/npc=277) in Stormwind. He's in a corner on the canals.

Thunderbrew - 44, 80 Hes up in the eastern hills in westfall...
Rum - 43, 65 Goldshire Inn...(easy)
Moonshine - 73, 44 Take short walk thru Duskwood to get this from the inn in Darkshire. (quickest walk is from redridge...get FP when you get to Darkshire)

Make sure you kill the Harvesters for the needed Hops for thunderbrew...they drop quickly so it should only take 5 min to get the needed 5 for the turn in...

Its there but it does not always show up so if you dont see it at the top of the list run out of the inn and run a bit aways from the town and go back ._.

and was lucky and the way was cleared up to the Thunderbrew guy. Easy to run from Lake- to Darkshire if you stay in the middle of the road.

Head into Dagger Hills and continue toward the sea after you crest the hill. He's the one by the little camp all by himself. (not the one surrounded by defias down the trail to your left) Also, as was mentioned above, there is a foolproof way to get to him by following the path into moonbrook from the dagger hills direction. Split off the path toward the hills between the haystacks and the first house. Avoid the defias while heading around the villiage toward the enormous silo watching for a break in the hills. Follow it all the way up to the top and *voila*: there's the little camp. Don't forget to bring your 5 hops that you got from killing the golems.

Just in case happens to someone else, I ended up buying 3 casks of merlot before it registered on my quest. I ran into the same thing for the moonshine. It turned out there is a "delay" before it shows up. Don't make the mistake I did and buy more than one.

Getting down to darkshire was the hardest part. Got jumped by a lvl 22 green reckluse on the way down there. Otherwise its just alot of travelling but a very decent payout.

Gz on you all for doing a collecting item quest solo on lvl 19,18,20 and so ever. But, this q is doable from lvl 13, maybe even 12 if your clever, because the lowest golem is 15 (as i remember), and the rest of the items your getting from NPC's by buying it from them.. No need to get in a group for that, or as k a lvl 60( or 70 as they are now) to help you with..

hardly worth the effort, being a twink i dont need the money and 1050exp is not much either, the cloak sucks and most ppl don't have FP to Darkshire at level 15-16 so there's quite a bit of running and then flying to a various of places. go grind instead.

You're a twink, so why would you even bother with low level quests?

Honestly, I've leveled 3 puppets to levels 10, 11, and 13, and this is the best cloak wearable at those levels I've ever seen. Fantastic quest for exp, item, and learning how to explore.

Mostly because, unlike many quests where you need to find certain treasures, you can stockpile the stuff while expolring, then turn them all in when you get to Lakeshire.

The Goldshire and Stormwind items are trivial. Humans pass through the former on their way to the latter, and probably often enough afterward. Darkshire is the place to go when you hit level 15, especially if you're a Leatherworker/Skinner (the Dire Wolves are very helpful and generally level 18-21, within the purview of a level 15). In fact the only rough part is the Harvest Watchers for the hops, and getting to the Dwarf in the Dagger Hills, at a moderate level. Still, if you're doing the quest where you have to kill numerous Harvest Watchers (and whose name I've forgotten), you're killing two quests with one stone.

And, frankly, who cares what a twink thinks anyway? Being a twink is like winning the Special Olympics. It's like being a senior in high school for twenty years. It's like being proud of your ability to complete the Junior Jumble. Safest technique for real players is to ignore any post that starts "Being a twink, ..."

A little trick, on the run to Darkshire is if you dont mind the cost to armor and dont mind dieing. Run down path if ya die no biggie you pop in GY by the city....Waalaa... then ride the gryphon home.

FYI, if you have more than 5 hops you can get more than one keg of Thunderbrew by simply repeating the exclamation point process with Grimbooze. It is fairly easy to gather them while killing Harvesters. Having a spare keg to sample or sell isn't a bad thing...

There is a lot of good info posted here, but it is hard work to put it all together. Let me try to make it easier, in list format.

From the Additional notes above:

"Kill The Mechanical Harverters and collect hops (they also drop items needed for other Westfall quests, so best to do them all at once).

Once you get 5 of them, go to Moonbrook and look for a path up into the mountains directly behind the town.

That's where you will find Grimbooze Thunderbrew."

Darkshire is just a little bit south from the road from Elywnn Forest. So enter frm that side if you aren't high enough level.

I came from Westfall side, was thinking I'll ride the gryphon back there then to Goldshire...but I'm practically back at Goldshire, just south of it.

I wouldn't formulate a purse with nearly 40 silver in it as Junk, would rather say it covers expenses made (traveling and costs of the liquors). Thnx for the nice review for a nice quest, was very usefull especially the description to find Grimbooze Thunderbrew.

If you look for the meeting stone and the big tower next to, go up the hill there and then run like mad across to him. I hearthed back from here, totally forgetting I had accidentally killed the Defias Messenger to complete another quest on the way to this quest!

My coin purse held 35s 88c, a wee bit of profit.

1050 xp as well (lvl 16)

Clarification for Galina winery. Its in the canals, that should also help you find it.

Second the Keg of Thunderbrew larger, is given by a dwarf past some Defias mobs in Westfall. You will need to go with 5 Hops to get it.

For those without ingame map locations. To find Gallina Winery, when you enter the town from the Valley of Heroes and go into the Trade Center, take the walkway to the west toward the Mage Quarters. DO NOT cross the Bridge to the Mage Quarters, but turn left and walk to the end of path. The Winery is on your left (the canal and water will be on your right).

He gives a new quest at level 40 or so, Sweet Amber. It's very time-consuming so just do it when you're in the different areas, all the way to Kalimdor for part. You get 1.25 gold for each part and then a so-so trinket at the end, but it's amusing to do and not many people seem to be aware of the quest.

In case people are wondering why the bartender in Goldshire isn't selling the skin of Sweet Rum, look again.
I was thrown off a bit too, mainly because the icon for the Sweet Rum looks like the Spring water icon.
It was on the top left of the bartender for me.

Lots of running around to do, and it can be expensive for the quest, a total of nearly 40 silver, but you get all of it back, and then some, once you complete the quest.

Some tips for this quest:

1) Whilst questing in Westfall, keep 5 Hops from Harvest Reapers. When you get the quest to kill Defias in Daggerfall Hills, do Thunderbrew and keep the Keg of Thunderbrew. The quest is repeatable if you forget.
2) Do this quest alongside the Message to ... quests from the Mayor of Redridge to save walking/flight money, and awards 2s 50c at the end of the quest chain
3) Some of these are quest items, so only available from the vendor when you are on the quest
4) Some of the items seem to have a refresh timer. If it's not there, close the trade window & try again. (They also look like other items such as a skin of water for the Rum).
5) If you don't already have them, remember to pick up the Westfall, Darkshire, Stormwind flight paths

Keg of Thunderbrew - Westfall, Daggerfall Hills, Grimbooze Thunderbrew (cost: 5 hops + flights)
Cask of Merlot - Stormwind, Trade District (south canal), Gallina Winery, Roberto Pupellyverbos, (cost 8s 15c at Friendly reputation with Stormwind)
Skin of Sweet Rum - Elwyn Forest, Goldshire Inn, Barkeep Dobbins (on the left behind the bar) (cost: 6s 75c)
Bottle of Moonshine - Darkshire, Scarlet Raven Tavern (2nd building due West of flight point), Barkeep Hann, (cost: 12s 65c)

Total cost 27s 55c + flights (about 7s, or walk). Reward is 42s 18c + XP.

Very underwhelming. I really don't think this is worth doing. I didn't have the Darkshire FP and spent about 30 minutes running around getting everything. I feel like I spent about 30s and only ended up with 36s 84c and 1050 xp. In that time I'm sure I could have looted more from kills and amassed more in xp...

Definitely NOT worth the time and effort. The cost of buying the 3 items alone is 27s 55c. The one "free" item you have to trade 5 hops for and the npc is in a very inconvenient location. Add on top of that several gryphon rides and you are easily pushing 35s (or spending an hour running to/from all the locations) My last 2 bags from completing this quest contained 33s 10c and 36s 1c. The lower amount I definitely lost money on and the second one maybe broke even. Total waste of time.

HC check:

stupid quest. Duskwood has up to lvl 22 spiders and wolfs, that even cross the road. No way you will survive this, especially if you add more than 1 mob. Sadly you have to wait till 18 or 19, but better be 20+. You cant easily do quests there anyway, so just wait a bit, though the quest may be green or grey by then.. Its just not worth the risk.
