He's really easy to find; he's the dude on the horse right on the bridge leading into the city.

He seems to be gone somewhere. I've noticed that during night time he is not there.

Well depending on the time of day. Certain NPCs aren't there and since the servers run on realtime you'll just have to wait.

12:20 am, he's out front kneeling. He'll say "What can I do for you?" or some such, but won't take the message, and doesn't have a blip in the minimap.

12:21 He just disappears. Guess his shift is over. Good time for the Horde to attack, I guess.

12:28 He's back. It seems he disappears when someone triggers the Onyxia quest(s).

Ok, i found the General guy, but i cant finish the quest with him. He has no '!' over him, and when i rightclick him, he just talks like a normal NPC (how can i help you.. etc..) can anyone help me?

i did the quest and i didnt got the spell... why? is it a priest reward or something? plz tell me...

the coords are
63,75 its really simple quest just a long walk. its 12:13 and the quest went fine. im not sure if the times thing still is there, and he did show up on minimap as well as question mark on his head in gold

I am level 19, and it seems like you cant finish this quest at night. He seems to kneel on the left side of the bridge, and if you click on him, nothing happens. I guess I need to try during the day.

I tried to talk to him while he was kneeling, but nothing. I waited and then when he appeared riding on his horse, I was able to complete this part of the quest

General Marcus Jonathan is located in the Valley of Heroes, on a horse, just outside the gates of Stormwind at location: 63, 75.

Magistrate Solomon is located in the Redridge Mountains in the village of Lakeshire at location 29, 44.

And vice versa for the other Messenger to Stormwind mission.

didnt get this quest till lvl 18. and it was green then. 490 exp at 19 and a faction increase with SW

I very highly suggest pairing this quest chain with the quest Dry Times . To save on travel time and transport fees. This quest chain does not pay for itself with all the flight points you have to take so you will end up losing money doing it if you aren't also doing the other quest at the same time.

General Marcus Jonathan is at the end of the bridge on his horse, right by the big statue.

If you don't see him on his horse he might be either one of the soldiers kneeling by the sides, in which case you've got a long wait, can be 5 to 20 minutes before he despawns, after that you won't see him around in any form and will respawn on his horse within 5 minutes.

You need to complete this quest in order to receive Messenger to Westfall which then leads to Messenger to Darkshire.

If you're going to Stormwind to do a variety of things, including turn this in, check to see if he's up before you do anything else. If someone starts the event you have to wait a solid 10-15 minutes for the event to end, then he despawns and another 5 has to go by for him to reappear. If you're reading this, it's probably too late, though.

Every other time I come in the main gates, he's THERE. Whenever any of my alts needs to turn in the quest, he's GONE. Then he FINALLY shows up and won't talk to me! No yellow question mark, nothing.
He goes from "Light be with you" to "You're getting on my nerves" when you click on him a lot.
I wonder if all the players who tried to turn in the quest reported this as a bug.
I gave up and waited until the next morning to turn in this very annoying quest.
