Not sure if i just got lucky but i ran over there and the first one i killed drop this. I spent more time running then killing things.

Did 3 runs or more to the camp and killed all Shadowstalkers and no drop.

i think blizzard changed the drop rate. the drop rate is very good for me. i ran in to sageron and killed 2 Shadowstalker. they both droped The scalp.

Heheh. It's possible for Alliance to get this quest, but not to complete it (obviously). Just FYI so other folks don't have to go looking like I did :)

Been killing shadowstalkers for a while now (15 plus?) and not dropped yet. Its not bugged its just luck.

Oh and for the fellow who loves to shout noobs, were talking about a drop for an ongoing quest, not the intial drop to start the quest. Do learn to read, if not think.

For those who are wondering, you can find the Hatefury Shadowstalker wandering around Sargeron, a camp of ruins in the northeastern corner of the Desolace map.

I ran all around the bottom flat area of the ruins and couldn't find any. So I wandered to the Northeast part of the camp (72,15 area), and started heading up the hillside. Found a couple up there and got it on second drop.

I got the Scalp drop on the first kill. I was at 72.19 at a two hut camp with 2 shadowstalkers. First one dropped the scalp.

If you dont have a coords program, follow the road EAST out of Ghost Walker Post, then once you hit the fork, head NORTH all the way to Sargeron which is at the most North-eastern portion of the Desolace map.

Just remember that ONLY the Hatefury Shadowstalkers will drop the scalp, none of the other satyrs!

It takes ~5mins to walk in Sargeron (75,20) from Shadowprey Village. With lvl 32 rogue this was an easy cake, stealthed behind Shadowstalker, ambush etc. and killed it. Dropped in first kill.

Received this quest with my level 38 Priest toon. Can't be completed so I reported to Blizzard, below is the response. This is a Horde only quest.

ffs - why is it that alliance chars get the flayed skin drop that starts this quest? carried the thing around for ages before i got the chance to look and it urns out to be a horde quest.....

You have to have the flayed demon skin from the pre-req. quest in this "The Corrupter" arc of quests. I got my Shadowstalker scalp after about 5 kills.

Hatefury Shadowstalkers are in the same area as the Hellfury demons for the "Befouled by Satyr" quest, around 74,21 in Sargeron.

After 3 days (over 1 and a half levels :( ) and countless shadostalkers killed no sign of a scalp

I can confirm it works for the Horde.

Don't expect to get the drop in just a few kills though, about 20 kills was required for me. A droprate around 5% is probably realistic.

I believe I can find this demon lord given the proper reagents.

If he is indeed as powerful as I suspect, I will need items gathered from deadly creatures. But you act in the Warchief's name, so I am sure you will accept my task.

First, I will have to break any wards he has against scrying. For this, I will need the scalp from a satyr--but not any satyr. The scalp must come from a Hatefury shadowstalker.

Search for them among the ancient ruins in the northeast of Desolace.
