There are two huts roughly north of the entrance to gnomeregan. The gizmonitor is located inside the two-storey hut with the lift, on the ground floor. It's the tall one further to the east.

Verified in zone: Dun Morogh - Gnomeregan (which is just west of Brewnall Village) : it's inside the building with the elevator at 27,36.

The mage gizmonitor is at loc 27,36! Its in a grey box sort of under the table by the elevator.

I looked exactly at the place where you described it. Do you think once someone gets it it takes time to regenerate a new one? Otherwise, what else can it be, I look all under the table and no sign shows up that there is something to open. thank you

What should i get? The Arcane Orb or The Arcane Staff, i am a Arcane Mage and right now i have a Balanced Fighting Stick

The Staff because you dont have a one handed weapon to put on the main hand, and then you wouldn't have a meele weapon to attack with.... and it only gives 1 spirit and The mana, but it has half and hour cooldown....

Considering at lvl 10 you should have over 500 mana... this orb is pretty pointless. Go for the staff :)

Im lvl 11 mage and the ! above Binks is still grey, plz help. already did the one in SW, could that be why i cant do this one?

yes this quest comes from your trainer, therefore it is probably grey b/c it is the next quest she wants to give you now, higher lvl..

u cant do a class quest in 2 areas for example if u do the lvl 10 mage quest in SW area u cant do the lvl 10 mage quest in IF area

1) Leave ironforge through the gates
2) Head far west past Kharanos, and past Brewnall village.
3) There you will see a town called Gnomeregan. Head to the north of that town and u will see 2 huts.
4) Kill all the gnomes guarding this hut and then enter into it.
5) Inside the hut on the right side is a table with a small chest near it. Right click that chest and it will let you get the quest item.
6) Now head back to Ironforge and to the npc and there you have it!
A tips is to pick the staff, the orb is pointless because you dont have any good 1 hand weps for mages in elvel 10 nad the mana thing is 30 min cd, and u dont need spirit, so pick the Staff and be happy ;-)

So ya, I whent to pre-req guy at lvl 10, gray ! above head. TEll guildmate, he says to come back at lvl 12. I do the same, still gray ! above his head. Whats up?

I am assuming you can't hold the Orb if you atre using a staff, considering that Staves are two-handed.

When going into Gnomer look up to your right, you will see a house and it will have an elevator. The gizmo is in Binks toolbox on the first floor. LOC 27,36

I got this quset at level 10, and now I'm level 16, but never did it! I'm going to get the orb.....if I ever do it.....

After getting the staff in Stormwind I am unable to get anyone to talk to me about getting the quest for the orb in Ironforge.
Good try though.

Does the Arcane Orb reward have unlimited charges of mana?

So okay, at lvl 10 I go to the guy who gives pre-req quest.. He doesnt give to me, gray ! above head. Guild mate says to check back at lvl 12, get the 2 levels.. Go back, again gray !. Both him and bink have the gray !'s. Can anyone tell me whats up? I mean I really wana to this quest and get on with it.

Has anyone tried to do this quest and the quest by Jenna in Stormwind? getting an orb at one and the staff at the other? Think I'll try it and let you know.

The quest is easy. Just kill the gnomes around the tower-ish spot and you should see an elevator going up and down every now and then. Near the elevator there is a box. Open grab and run/hearth to Ironforge.

And another matter. I think that after you do the quest in Stormwind for the staff, you can't do this quest because the Ley orb is the same as the Arcane Orb. They're the same quests just in different locations. (I think the SW one is alot easier though.)

I did this quest but I took the staff not realizing just how useful the orb is. Any way to redo the quest? Thanks

If you are trying to do this quest in hardcore, beware the repsawns are insanely fast. I tried it with one level 10 and lost her, completed it with another level 10 out of sheer cussedness. (Bring heal pots & bandages if you're cussed enough to solo it.)

There are a large amount of leper gnomes posted and patrolling in the general area. There's no point in trying to kill them all off, they'll respawn before you get it done.

The 2 lepers outside the building will aggro on you when you try to get in. There's one posted inside (that you can't target because of slope ugh) and also another can spawn in that area while you're doing things. Best bet is to pull the 2 near outside and the 1 inside and clean them up - be prepared for runaways pulling more, etc. If you get more mobs just run away and try again, they'll eventually lose aggro if you run northeast along the road.

There's 1 gnome upstairs. If you go up the elevator you'll have to fight him but it is a spot to hide out (he respawns TOO). The loot is NOT upstairs it is downstairs. Once you're inside the hut you won't body pull anymore outside gnomes, just be aware that the inside gnome respawns. The loot is behind the table to your right as you face the elevator.

We mages do more than just waggle our fingers and make pretty sparks! We control magic, the base fabric of our world! And that takes great care, and resolve. And knowledge... so much knowledge!

One of my devices, the mage-tastic gizmonitor, collects and stores that knowledge in huge amounts! But it's lost! When we fled our home of Gnomeregan, I left it in a chest in one of our huts outside the city, and now the place is crawling with leper gnomes!

Please, <name>, retrieve my gizmonitor!
