An easy quest to do, just remember you are not killing the mob, but simply just stealthing behind him and pickpocketing him!

It is an easy mistake to think you need to kill him for the drop but that is not the case :)

yeah it was a fun one, but god your on a rogue mission, stealth and pick pocket is pretty obvious, especially when Mathias hints at his "deep pockets"

Because you first have to talk with Keryn Sylvius, the Rogue Trainer who is upstairs in the Lion's Pride Inn in Goldshire.

i snuck up to the goblin right behind him and then what? i tried to pick pocket skill it doest work geez. can someone help me here.

Go to Keryn upstairs in the lion pride inn in goldshire, she will give you the quest. go to "Jepards landing " don't quote me on that! it is by the river near the vineyard. Go stealth and left click on goblin then pick pocket, collect manual then run. If u have a a blade of cunning from another quest destroy it cos you get another one. Hope that answers all questions hehe!

It took me a few tries as a level 11 soloing this.
Wait until the Defias mob is out of sight, stealth into in house, keeping to the right. Quickly pick the pocket and sprint.
Took me three tries. Trick is not to engage in combat.

for those being lazy, the exact location is 48, 86. he is the defias dockmaster. you stealth and then pickpocket. simple as that.. make sure your not in combat mode when you stealth. dont hit him. silly lil goblin indeed.

if you travel down to the fargodeep mine then coninue to the east of there, you will come to a dock. there will be a little hut on the dock and inside is the goblin. It is incredibly easy just do it slowly or he will catch you.

When i go up to the mathias guy it doesnt have a yellow questgiver exclamation point above him and when i talk to him ther is no quest

Pickpocket dockmaster
Get the quest item to SI:7

I ve killed but you HAVE to pickpocket because it's a rogue quest.

Enter house and go right,go to back of him and pick pocket him.
Don't get divert of talking green guy and just pick pocket him from the back.

You don't have to kill anyone.

This quest starts with: Master Mathias Shaw, who you can find in Stormwind, in SI:7.

The quest tells you to find the Defias Dock Master and get his shipping schedule.

You can find the Dock Master and "Jerod's Landing",or at coordinates 47.87. Or if you don't have a coordinates system, here are the directions: Simply go south of Goldshire and head east along the coast until you see the dock.

Next, once you've found it, simply STEALTH and walk in the house where the Defias Dock Master is (He is a goblin), and get behind him and use your "Pick-Pocket" spell. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO KILL HIM, just pick-pocket him and leave, and go back to Master Mathias Shaw in in SI:7.

where is the location of the dock's? i know it's south of golsshire but where exacly is the location? duskwood? westfall? i need help on that

If you're sure you have this quest and you don't already have the quest item, and you still get an empty loot when you pickpocket the dockmaster, you have to kill him. Someone else picked his pocket without killing him and hence his "pickpocket loot" is empty. Killing him and letting him reset will refill his pockets when he respawns. Just a tip to ease your frustration...

There appears to be a pre-req for this quest: Seek out SI: 7 Seek out SI: 7 at level 11 Matthias Shaw wouldn't give me a quest until I had completed the prior one.

I'm having similar problems. I got the schedule no problem took it to Shaw and he went ahead and said his stuff but on the chat screen it said failed, duplicated item found?

Oh and everytime I complete another quest, straight afterwards it says I have accepted quest: snatch and grab.

Now theres definitly a problem there? It says I still have the schedule as well. >:( its irritating.

I got the Dup Items error as well, but I think I know why.

The quest gives you a blade of cunning which is identicle to the blade of cunning you get from a quest near Ironforge. I dont think you can complete the quest if you already have a blade of cunning.

And your definition of a rogue and spelling mistakes are just as bad as the inevitable incorrect spelling of the word Rogue. So just live with it.

I got that I was supposed to pick the dockmaster's pocket, but every time I try my character says she's out of range. So I take a step closer and then she attacks the dockmaster. I've put my weapons away, but she still attacks. If I don't right-click the dockmaster, she tells me she needs a target. I'm approaching his back. In the meantime, I'm getting a ton of loot from the locked chest that is sometimes in the room. :)

So, what's the secret to picking pockets?

Edited to Add: D'uh. Left-click the dockmaster, don't right-click him.

Snuck in to the dockhouse, got behind him, pickpocketed him.

Went to SI:7, turned it in, got my blade and quest XP, no problems.

I had the same problem with the duplicate item. It is simple to solve. All you have to do is destroy the blade of cunning that you previously recieved. You will be given a new one so it does not matter. I recieved the xp and moved on.

OK, for those that cant find the dockmaster, hes at 47,87. if U dont have the cords mod, it is SE of Fargodeep mine, right off the river. When I went, there was 2 dockmasters. The one U want is the ont inside the house, hes a goblin. Like everyones said, use sneak and pick his pocket, and sneak back out. Dont freak out if U see him say he smells intuders, just pick his pocket and get outta there.

I had no trouble getting the shipping schedule once I figured out the pick pocketing thing. But like others Mathias says he's taking it but then when the complete quest button is pushed the chat screen says that there is a duplicate item and that I failed. I too still have the item (in the bank for now), but I will soon loose the abillity to benefit from the quest. Does anyone know how to get around this? Has anyone spoken to the Wow people?

This quest can be given near Stormwind, Ironforge and Darnassus for Alliance. If you want to the quest "again" you have to destroy the reward from the other quest to finish it. (Maybe it will work too sell the blade too, don't know)

Can we get rid of the "rouge" thing once and for all.

Rogue are stealhted asassin and a rouge is something a women put on their lips to look more sensual.

I'm getting the dup item error as well, but I think I know why.

The quest gives you a Blade of Cunning. Its identicle to a blade you get from a similar quest from around Ironforge. I dont think the quest can be completed by anyone already has a blade of cunning.

The starting point for this quest is in the Rouge Guild House in Stormwind City, talk to the guy upstairs, can't remember his name, he has a little creature thing standing next to him.

This was crazy. I went to the dockmaster at level 27 and tried to pickpocket him. What happened? Nothing. No message, just nothing. I could use pickpocket but there was only money dropped. How strange. Im not sure if this quest is bugged, but i have the feeling that i am too high in level, because the quest is for a level 10 :S If someone could explain me how to do this quest then it would help me out a lot. So what im thinking of is that if i am level 27 that if i try to complete a level 10 quest that i will not been able to get the right drop, if it is required to kill mobs ;)

I've watched a few other rogues doing this quest and there's one thing these guides fail to mention.

JUST GO STEALTH AND PICKPOCKET. DO NOT SAP FIRST.

If you use Sap first, it will automatically drop stealth and enter you in combat and his bodyguards will spawn and likely kill you.

If you think this quest should be available but it is not, here might be why:

There are three chains, for each capital city.

Darnassus: Begins with The Apple Falls
Ironforge: Begins with Road to Salvation
Stormwind: Begins with Seek out SI: 7

You can only do one version. Although I completed the Ironforge chain, Questie still shows me icons for Snatch and Grab (SW) and Destiny Calls (Darn) even though they are not available to me.

If this is your first rogue and you don't know it already, don't sneak by fireplaces too closely. They will burn you and take you out of stealth.

Did it today in hardcore.
If someone stealed just before you, its pockets are empty. It seems that he says something (like "I hear something") when its pockets are full so if not, flee because the repop of its life guards can be deathly. I escaped them diving and crossing the river.

immediately -run - evasion - health pot.
wait for evasion cooldown and repeat.

Don't try to kill the 3 Defias thugs and the dockmaster. The thugs spawn too quickly and will gang up on you along with the dockmaster. Just do a stealth pickpocket on the dockmaster and get the mongoose outta there.

I need you to infiltrate the dock house and get me that shipping schedule, <name>. You will probably find it buried deep in the pockets of the Dockmaster.

...and <name>, should you be discovered, SI:7 will disavow all knowledge of your existence.
