This quest is acquired by Bink, a mage trainer in Ironforge. Tabetha's cottage is located at 46,57 in Dustwallow Marsh. If you're semi-familiar with the area, the fastest way to get there is to swim like you're going to Onyxia's Lair.

I did not have to complete or get this quest in order to acquire "Tiara of the Deep" so I'm not so sure they are part of a series like it says.

Horde doesn't have this quest. We just go directly to Tabetha for Tiara of the Deep.

This quest is given by all mage trainers. It is not required to start Tiara of the Deep, it is only there to point players in the direction of the quest NPC, so that they can find and accept Tiara of the Deep.

u dont need tabthaa task to do the second step, just go and find tabetha and u get the quest

Bink, a mage trainer in the Hall of Mysteries in Ironforge, still gives this quest. I got it as a level 44.

Tabetha is on the island that looks like a backwards "C", in the middle

It's north of the "E" in Stonemaul. On the map you'll see a large island just above Stonemaul in this shape >

It's in the inside bend of the island..best I can describe it. You'll be looking for a hut with a dock.

I got this quest from Bati in The Exodar...odd that nobody else has mentioned this.

I was level 40 at the time.

Got it from the mage trainer in the Exodar, was a breeze finding the hut thanx to the co-ords, otherwise i woulda been at it all day trying to find the thing.

Affirmative on the (46,57) location. That is directly where Tabetha stands.

Bink is located in Iron Forge... no way for Horde to get the quest from him.

Anyone know who gives this quest for Horde?

I've found the hut OK, but Tabetha doesn't want to give me any quests. She doesn't show up on my minimap as a 'quest complete' marker, and she says nothing important - just a couple of generic lines about the swamp. I've still got this quest in my log, as I'd gone straight to her from Bink. Any ideas?

I'm a lvl 44 rogue, if that's any help.

EDIT - Nevermind, after I finished typing this message out and alt-tabbed back to the game, the question mark was suddenly above her head, bright and shiny. Just one of those wierd things, I guess.

If you can't get the quest, I think you need to discover the entrance to ZF in Tanaris and/or zone into the dungeon before going back to the NPC.

I went to Deino in Orgrimmar, who had no quests for me. I tried going directly to Tabetha and she had no quests either. After exploring the entrance to ZF and zoning into the dungeon for the first time, I went back to Tabetha and she gave me the Tiara of the Deep quest.

Wasn't able to get this quest at all, although the Tiara of the Deep quest was given by Tabetha herself.
As I can see in the comments, some people are still able to have this quest. In my case, this could be somehow connected to the fact that I helped some fellow gal finishing the Cleansing of the Orb of Orahil quest while I was at Dustwallow Marsh.
Would be great to know for sure

You can't get this quest if you've already completed the quest Tiara of the Deep.

Descrizione

Rumor is that Tabetha, a mage colleague who lives deep in Dustwallow Marsh, has a bone to pick with a certain sand troll in Zul'Farrak. If you speak with Tabetha she can tell you more.

And bring some friends with you, <name>. If Tabetha has you go to Zul'Farrak then you're not going to want to go alone.

You will find Tabetha's cottage west of Theramore, and just north of the Stonemaul Ruin.
