Theka the Martyr patrols a large room in the western part of Zul'Farrak. The room is full of scarabs, but they are neutral beasts. Just be sure to avoid using AOE attacks and they'll leave you alone.

Theka himself is fairly easy to start. Just blow him away like you would any other mob. However, when he gets to about 30% health, he will become immune to all physical damage and all Shadow magic. This means that you need to have a mage, priest, druid or shaman in your party (or a warlock willing to use only fire spells). I believe paladins can also use damaging judgements. I originally tried this quest with a party consisting of hunter, rogue, paladin and two warriors. Beating Theka was not easy with that group :). If you have a mage, it might be a good idea for them to not pour on DPS until Theka hits 30%.

Once you've killed him, you can read the tablet in the middle of the scarab room. It's leaning against one corner of the crumbling structure there.

was in ZF with a group and we went to kill Theka and when he was to about quarter health he was suddenley immune, which i thought might have been a spell because my first time in ZF, but then the higher lvls in group started saying that this isnt right, and after about 10 minutes or so of immunity we were finally able to kill him when (and this is why i know he is bugged) he was still taking damage from bombs

Theka does go immune at 25% health which is not a bug. If yo uhave a hunter hit him with a tranquil shot at 30 % and he does not immune.

Theka goes immune only to shadow and physical damage , other schools still work on her.

It has been changed in a recent patch (2.0.3?) that the immunity wears off after a short time... 25-30 seconds or so.

Stealth classes can just sneak to the area and use the tablet, no need to kill him. Note it's not a "pick up" type quest where it takes a few seconds to use it and get the next part, rather you just click the tablet, click a little thing to get to the next page of the text and you're done, so while the guy patrols around the other side of the square-type route he takes it's easily doable.

Theka is in the area with all the scarabs running around. In the middle of the area there's a big structure with a large tablet laying against it.

Ride mount past mobs, feign death near scarabs to loose aggro. Keep close eye on patrols. Wait for boss to patrol out of range. Read tablet, hearth home. Probably could ride mount back out if necessary.

I would guess rogue could do similar tactic with stealth.

By the time you actually get this q done you have no idea where to go. You probably don't recall, but you got the quest in Senjin Village and there is where you have to return it. GL :D

when ur party gets to the room with heaps of scarabs, just walk through them and don't attack any (they wont aggro). read the tabnlet and ur done!

You don't need to kill theka to read the tablet. Just dodge him and read the tablet while he's not looking

THis sux i have gone to duotar and done all his quests and am now at lvl 49 and cant get this quest i dont think we hunters can get it :(

Theka the Martyr is in the area with all the bugs (in ZF). There are about 40-50 of the things but they don't agro till attacked.

The tablet is rather large and leaning up against the wall in the middle of said room.

theka at a certain percentage of life becomes immune to physical and shadow. use other means to finish him off. easy peasy.

Killed the mob and he dropped the tablet but only 1 member of the group was able to loot it. The rest of us were out of luck. Bugged?

WHY CANT YOU SEE THIS QUEST? Answered here:
This quest begins from a chain that starts when you go to a troll camp in the Hinterlands, and pick up any green bottle on the ground there. The item starts a quest to take it to an NPC in Tarren Mill who will give you another quest to go back to the Hinterlands, collect a Venom Sac from a Spider, and return within 30 minutes so it's fresh, very easy at level 48. You do not have to do his other quests, This Undead NPC will then give you a quest to visit Master Gadrin, the troll in Sen'Jin Village. You will not get the quest from Gadrin until you are sent by the Undead NPC through the quest chain and you DO NOT have to do any of Master Gadrin's level 10 quests.

As a Warrior level 48 this is do-able solo. There are two de-spawn spots that you can take advantage of even after initially taking aggro, the important thing is that you will need to strafe as opposed to allow the trolls to hit you from behind because you need to be on your mount.

If you've ran ZF you've probably seen the first de-spawn spot. After the first few mob groups there is a wall that has a low side making it accessible from the hill only if you are on a mount. It will then automatically dismount you and can move out of range of the casters and leave combat.

Secondly, if you run past the room with Theka the Martyr (the room with the tablet you must read) you can run up the first few steps of the Witch Doctor's area and jump on the low wall. After this, dismount and jump over the first statue and units will no longer chase you. Being able to move into the Theka room from this point allows for only 1 single melee 44 elite to be in the way of you and reading that tablet. Once you kill that elite simply avoid Theka while you read the tablet and go back to the de-spawn point where you can Hearthstone.

Easy to solo for any class. There are reset points where you can just run past all the mobs, aggro some, then hide behind these reset points until they go back to their spots. Then mount up, run to the next. Details on where these are can be found in this tutorial on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OxMbupKW4w

The 3rd reset point is right next to the tablet behind the vases (not shown in the video). Just run there and wait, the mobs will de-aggro. Then just click on the tablet. You can port, hearth, or use the reset points on the way back, or just die. EZPZ

The "green bottles on the ground" are actually to the very west of hinterlands. Part of the Venom Bottles quest. Bring a friend unless you have good dps. Once you have your bottle, you go to Tarren Mill for turn in and then back to Hinterlands to kill spiders. The post below made it seem the bottle was lying on the ground near Revantusk Village.

The Witherbarks worship a spider god, and from her they collect their most potent venom. So if you want the venom, then you must summon their god!

To do that, you must know her true name, and that name is on a tablet buried in Tanaris, in the troll city of Zul'Farrak, in a tomb guarded by Theka the Martyr.

Defeat Theka and find and read his tablet to discover the spider god's name. When you know it, return to me.
