Just completed this with my new bloodelf hunter, soloed at level 47.

Killed by kiting Shadra to Thoradin's wall's gate in Arathi. Total time taken was just less than 15 minutes.

Solo'd as a level 55 warlock, plenty of chain fearing after clearing a section to the south of the pond. Don't fight in the pond as it evades.

Myx0 - the guy in the hidden comment above soloed this spider with his blood elf hunter level 47. The comment is hidden because people didn't believed that he can solo elite mob 8 level above him. The next post is the actual movie.

So instead of calling this guy liar better give him what he deserves - vote for his comment + and call him uber. :P

btw: what he did is nothing hard for hunters. just watch out for adds.

This spider has 18,978HP and it is HUGE!
Me (52 Warrior) and a guildie (57 Rouge) tried to take her down. Got her down to 728HP before we wiped. Brought in a fellow guildie (60 Lock) and put her down. Was still a tough fight, I ended up with less than 800HP and the Rouge had less than 400HP (although neither of us healed during the fight), the Lock was totally unscathed but had used about 50% mana.
Still I find it hard to believe that the 53 Lock above, solo'd this. If he/she did, then all I can say is WOW!
As someone above said, clear at least one side of adds and you should do fine with 3 in your party.
BTW the only thing this spider dropped for us, was the venom, really disappointing.

The altar is none of the three huge aztec like buildings, its almost like a table thing with a tablet laying on its side.

55 golden elite spider, huge x_x, not recommended for solo's with arachnaphobia? cant spell it lol, made me jump when it died x_x nasty nasty thing, I had the help of a lvl 67 guild member warlock and he got to half health tanking along with his void and my pet so, take care, group it for definate.

p.s dont forget, to summon the spider, you need to use the scroll in your inventory :P

I'm a 54 feral druid and i managed to solo her with entangling roots and moonfire only....takes awhile but she hits hard so no other way (INT buff of course).

I a 60 shadow preist tanked it, with a 52 shaman helping and we wiped twice with about 2000 health left on her. Got a 51 warlock to help and none of us ever got below 50% but she never dropped anything but the venom and we killed her twice. she drops some nice stuff just not for me.

Solo'd as a 55 warlock. Lost a lot of health even with soul link, and a pet as well, but doable since the spider can walk on water (leading to some interesting graphics) while the other mobs in the area can't and are all melee. Kite the elite to the water and set to work chain fearing. Was simple, even if a bit dangerous due to fear breaks and heavy attacks.

tried solo'ing at lvl 54 and with the use of celstial orb, mana citrine, and major mana stone still came up short on damage by about 2700 health. Hes got about 18,100 health. Came back at lvl 56 and tried again and solo'd it. Frost mage ftw.

Gotta love hunter! Took some (about 5min) time but soloed as lvl 53.

Soloed this as a lvl 60 frost mage (wohoo \o/), the problem is that the bloody spider didn't drop the venom -.-

I did this at level 51 with a group. Also went down in about 30 seconds. After turning in the poison to TM and then to UC you get about 18k xp. Very nice.

Did this with me (Level 59 Hunter) and a level 56 Warrior and a level 50 priest. Warrior tanked while priest healed and I hit from distance.

Went down in around 30 seconds, but man...this is one huge spider!

WE did this with me, lvl 56 rogue, a lvl 54 rogue, a 51 warrior, and a 53 Warlock. It was pretty easy since our tank was incredibly good at holding aggro.

ya cant fathom the size, i brought a 59 warrior, and a 54 hunter, and me 47 shaman, lost my warrior right at the end my fault goin for big heal. What was cool was that neither of the 2 guys i was with had ever even seen shadra b4. unfortunately the chain of quests was so long i forget where it all began

Went there yesterday
53 Warlock, 50 mage, 52 shaman and 45 Mage

We summoned and got wiped rather instantly.
Problem is partyl because due to lag it was rather hard to get the right position to get aggro. I kept getting the positioning error message.. character model is just big.
I figure, that it will be doable when you have a tank with you.. .but do not try without.
The spider btw is a 55+ Elite.

Killed her today. 59 Beastmaster hunter, and a 52 shadow priest. Sent my pet in to tank, I DPS'd while the shadow priest did some damage and kept the pet healthy. I know its been said, but this spider is huge. Fun fight.

Just solo'd Shadra ( 47 hunter ) was inspired by an old comment here to just try it.
On her death she disapeared immidiatly. No loot and no quest completed. Oh also the item to spawn her is one use only.

Soloed as a 53 lock, just clear the area of spiders and trolls before you summon her then fear and dot her up. She spawns in the water. Stand still and wait for her to come back and refresh dots and fear as needed. You won't even take any damage.

I just solo'd this as a 52 mage.

Using level 1 frost bolt, I kited this mob for what seemed like 10 minutes all the way to raventusk village. Guards joined in and after 2 minutes it was dead.

Used a few mana potions and my mana crystal due to having to burn some mana during moments of string resists on blinks and ice armors.

And yes I was able to loot the quest item at the end.

Quest rewarded me 8450 experience at level 52.

A fairly easy kite , clear mobs from shrine exit path/area- use aspect of the cheater with concussive shot and auto shot to keep aggro, kite along road to raventusk village for the guards to finish off, she was below 50% health at that point so u could just kite till dead and not bother with village i u wish, mabie take her for a walk round the beach area with all the neutral turtles :)

Appears to be bugged in classic. I summoned and kited Shadra almost all the way to Tauren Mill. Killed her. The body is "sparkling" like it has loot, but the loot window is empty. No venom. Cannot complete. I tried this 3 different times. Wasted a lot of time running back and forth to Durotar to get a new summoning scroll each time.

Gadrin's Parchment is a one-use item. If you summon Shadra, the parchment is gone regardless if you actually kill the spider. However, if you don't kill the spider, *abandon the quest* and travel back to Master Gadrin in Senjin Village (Durotar). My advice - don't burn your parchment trying to solo Shadra unless you want the challenge. A group of 3 or more lvl 50+ players is recommended.

Travel tip if you have to go back to Master Gadrin: Fly to Ratchet, get on the ship and ride it to the point of Durotar closest to Senjin Village and jump off - save you some swimming at least.

I kited her all of the way to Tarren Mill as a 48 hunter. However despite having the option the loot her, the loot window was empty and quickly closed whenever I opened it. If you're going to kite her then I'd suggest keeping her in the zone and going to Revantusk Village. At the very least seeing that massive corpse in a town as small as Tarren Mill is pretty funny.

Soloed as 55 Shadow Priest. Clear around the altar next to her, then kite by walking all the way up the stairs and jumping down to where you see the Atal'ai Exile. She takes a long route to get to you there. Then jump back down to the ground and repeat.

two-manned it with 53 warrior and 54 shaman, tried to tank it with warrior, shaman seemed to pull a lot despite not using Earth Shock, and had to pop a lot of cooldowns and a lot of healing from the shaman to beat it (we did roughly the same damage)

Someone made a comment here where he said he solod this on his Lv 53 Warlock
I can confirm this being possible as i did it on my Lv 52 Warlock myself recently an my best item was a lv 38 ring.
You can solo him without any gear as long as you have these two spells i recon: Siphon Life & Curse of Exhaustion (Rank 3 atleast)
I threw dots in him and kited him around the lake, when he was nearly down i feared and zerged him, i attracted 3 normal spiders in doing so so be carefull as i do not know if the boss spider makes them aggro or if it was my pet chasing the boss.
Also i believe Shadra had 44k Hp

To get to Zen'Jin village in Durotar easily, take the boat from booty bay and jump off when it passes the island.

It was surprisingly easy to kill the spider as a warlock. Just stay in the lake and chain fear it. You don't need even to clear other mobs in the area, cause they are melee and refuse to enter the water. I had to use bandages a couple of times and ate a healthstone because of fear resists and poison, but otherwise killing Shadra was extremely easy.
