These guys wander around different areas of the zone. Easiest ones to find are by the hippogryphs.

I always see 1 spawn near the gnolls, 1 near the ogres and hippogryphs, and 1 near the pavillion. They wander around, so chances are if you grind youll eventually find them

When looking for theese I usually just grind hippogryps around 54.70. There seem to be two different kinds of treants taking turns spawning. Only one of them works with this quest.

Spawn-point of Wandering Forest Walker is at the hippogryphs are: if you are at 57.73, look southeast towards the nearest tree, this particular green tree that sits outside the rim of the Ruins of Isildien that has a brownish-purple tree attached to its right, is the spawning point for this particular mob. It spawns every 4-5 minutes and comes up in front or behind this tree.

This part of the quest is to timeconsuming to be worth the effort. The reward isnt good either. So if you want to save time: Drop this quest and head elsewhere.

If you take the road over to the highwilderness and enter the forest by the yeti's and run through the hypogryphs you will find one. Continue over till you get to 54,72 area. You should be on the left side of the ruins. The plateu behind the ruins is where they spawn and they will start their march across the wilderness. If you sit on the path on the left of the ruins, next to the edge of the plateu they will walk right in front of you and you don't have to worry about adds so much.

The only thing is and elite wanderer only spawns every other one. SO you will get one then and normal cursed tree or whatever, then and elite again. I sat and killed 3 in 20 mins. If you are a hunter spam the mana drain shot and they are easy.

I had better luck finding these guys just north of Camp Mojache near the Grimtotem Compound. Just be really patient and they will eventually stomp right by you.

Spawn 1 Wandering Forest Walker at 50.47 every 8 min

I suggest staying put at one place and wait for them to respawn. Found a good site at 73,57, at the big tree south of Woodpaw Hills. Spend your time waiting by grinding the gnolls for xp and items.

It's behind the main tower of the Ogres, south of the Yetis and Hippogryphs as discussed previously. Simply run south and follow the cliff wall left until you get behind the huge circular tower on your mini map, locate this spot and wait... Mine appeared every 8-10 minutes. And they appear to drop out of the sky when spawning here :)

Killed one by the hippographs, went over by Dire Maul looking for the "stationary" one and found some great herbs while looking for him. Got him, then went back to the hippographs and got the respawn. The Cursed Sycamore is not one of the guys you want!

There is one that spawns and patrols every five mins at 73,56 so do the woodpaw quest with this one also u get the splinter log off this guy for the Natural Material Quest. Killed him three times and got everything. 47 Tauren Druid

This quest is a real pain...hard to find, annoying quest all round lol

the advice about sticking near the ruins of Isiliden is fantastic, fairly common spawns to walk through there :)

Found the first one at 53,47 then wanted to go to the one down at high wilderness behind the temple thing but omw to there fount one at 54,63 also the wrong treant was there(forgot his name) afther that went to the temple place and found the last one at 57,73. Easy:)

If you sit at 54, 72 all that you will see spawn there are Curse Sycamores...but if you sit at 57, 73 that's where the Wandering Forest Walkers spawn.

Trust me I went through 4 Cursed Sycamores before I tried a new spot listed above in the comments and this spot is dead on. Remember you need Wandering Forest Walkers...the Cursed Sycamores look exactly the same but in this quest it's the name that matters. =)

It's a lil' hard to find but most of their respawn spots are listed here, i found the best spot is 59,53. almost on the road.
After finding them it's really easy to kill. At least you only need 3.

I have this quest completed, but for some reason i can't turn it in...anyone else having that problem?

If u exit the camp to the east and on the right of the road u will find one... takes less then five mins for respawn.

Another can be found but heading to Dire Maul... follow the roads... when u turn up to Dire Maul there is one one the right of the road.

Another spot is at the high wilderness almost all the was south.

This is just one of a whole bunch, the cords. above are also true so if you dont find it then just try another cord.

Go to 56.74 in Feralas and grind on the mobs there. First a Cursed Sycamore will spawn at 56.74. Kill it and 20 - 90 seconds later at ~53.77 a Walker will spawn.
You should get one every 5 minutes.

I found them at 56,47.. and it was lvl 44. so. it's not that hard to do. You also get q item for another q of them!

Go to the west wall of the high wilderness and headed south about halfway down. Kill hipogryphs until a forestwalker walks up to you. Kill it and then go hunt maulers and collect mageweave and silver for about 10 minutes then return and another forestwalker will have spawned. It walks north and south on the west wall.

The easiest way to finish this quest without giving yourself a headache is to go to grind the Frayfeather Hippogrifs around 55,63. One of the Treants spawns in this area every few minutes. Get some exp killing Frayfeathers, be patient, and all three Treants will walk right up to you eventually.

found mine at 74,53(seemed to wander around the sounthern end of that lake) couldnt find anymore really anywhere else so i just came back and waited for the respawn, it went by pretty fast :P

As a level 47 priest, they posted no problem at all. They never tried to heal. I just killed hippos to pass the time. A cursed sycamore always came first for me. I don't know if I had to kill it to get the quest mob to spawn.

The first treant I found wandering at loc 53,46. Second treant was found wandering at loc 41,24. (Walking around alot of elite giants) I think I found the spawn point for this treat, I think he spawns at 38,38. I went back to loc 53,46 to kill the last treant to complete quest. At lvl 52... 4700 exp, reputation with dark spear trolls increased. These mobs have yellow names, not red ones like most of the other mobs in the zone.

They also drop quest items for quest "Natural Materials"

Also good to pair with the quest natural minerals. It allows you to collect both metallic fragments and encrusted items for natural minerals as well as giving xp and buying time inbetween treant spawns for this quest (You also get loggs you need for natural minerals from the treants so it is well worth the pairing).

Patience and enjyo the ganging hippogrpyhs :) Waiting for my last treant and final two metallic fragments.

These treants are hard to find and hard to kill. They heal themselves a lot with some flash heal spell. I did all mine with one extra party member. Thankfully we only have to kill 3 for the quest. Worth it too, see the quest rewards for the end of the quest line.

Yah these trees are no joke at lv 45 lol. As a shammy I could use earth shock to interrupt their healing however they showed a VERY high resistance to this spell. Basically I hit them with two lightning bolts and then just melee'd until they went to heal, earth shocked and then healed myself with a superior healing potion and then let them get me to around half health and healed with healing wave. If they took that opportunity to try to heal I'd interrupt my heal and earth shock again. Every single battle was down to the wire and I had to run a few times. Good luck to anyone working on these.

There is a gnome at the boat dock with a giant quest. Pick it up with the giant shrinker and go to the North West area for giants and there are three easy Forest Walkers in the area. Using the shrinker on the Giants works on the next string of this quest thread and after you loot the essance you can zap the giants with the vessal.

These are hard to find folk without the Hunter's Map. However, here are a few ideas.

Hunt in the 'early' morning for them when no-one else is farming. I went at 7.30am!

The nearest to Camp Mo walks between 69,46 to 71,39. From the Grimtotem Camp to the SE camp of knolls.

I then did BleuSimons trick. Go to the west wall of the high wilderness and head south about halfway down and meet the Feathered Hypogriffs. One wanders there from 55,60 to 54,68

Then I popped back to get the respawn of the above. Job done in 30mins

Preferred Spawn Location (Near the ruins and ogres)

The wanderers literally spawn and drop from the sky at exactly 58.37, 74.56.
The re-spawn time is exactly 6 minutes from kill to spawn on all locations.
There is not a spawn bug when they spawn.
They visually hit the ground, and then physically spawn after 10 seconds on all locations.
There are 3 birds pathing near the tree, and 3 ogres on the building's platform that path back and forth.

Preferred Spawn Location (Near Camp Mojache)

The wanderers literally spawn and drop from the sky at exactly 67.9, 60.1.
The re-spawn time is exactly 6 minutes from kill to spawn on all locations.
There is not a spawn bug when they spawn.
They visually hit the ground, and then physically spawn after 10 seconds on all locations.
There are wolves, bears or even gnolls pathing near the tree.

Special Note: Edit update, there are newly confirmed timers in play that differ from the original post. If all the spawns are all up at the same time, 2 of them killed are needed to fall within the 6 minute timer rule. We have also confirmed that if all 6 are killed within a relatively short time, they all instantly respawn. If you only kill one, there is an internal timer (unknown as of yet time) that kicks in. This has been witnessed at 1 min all the way up to 1 hour. So noting different spawn timers at this point, is moot. Not because they are true or aren't true, it simply means there are other wanders up that haven't been killed. Another thing to take into account is despawn. If a despawn happens, at this point there is no timer known. Respawn, after despawn, as opposed to kill, is different. Again, there is just no known timer limit. (we have observed 1 and 2 minutes and up to 50 minutes.)

Special Note: There seems to be disputes on timers. Users have reported 7 8 and 9 minutes spawns.

Special Note: Immune to nature damage (IE: Earth shock)

Special Note: Yarol mentioned using your phone for a timer. Added in the classic release is the clock feature (which didn't exist until 2008). If you click on the clock (time), you can use the stopwatch. It is a simple stopwatch, hit the play icon and it will start. Hit the stop or record looking icon and it stops and resets. So for your benefit the timer is indeed available in game.

ElvUI users: right click the minimap, or middle click it (depending on your keybinds) and you will have a clock or timer option.

As the title implies they are Wandering Forest Walkers . Can be combined with the quests Natural Materials, Another Message To The Wild Hammer, and Clamlette Surprise (hint: hover your mouse on the links or click the names to the left to have a map of all the wandering kills, and locations of wandering sightings recorded through the wowhead client). It is entirely possible that you will not see one on the spawn spot, and I suggest before you head to the spawn spot you check the area around the spot. They have a pathing vector that covers the entire area of the map they are on.I will update and edit this post if any other spawn spots are found as precisely as this one. So far we have 3 of the 5 confirmed spawn locations.

The damn tree spawned at 58.74, behind a tree behind the Ruins of isiliden

i posted a screenshot.

as it spawned, i spammed my macro - /target and got it right away. then charged ... but it was bugged. couldt attack it. i got an "out of range" error..

anyways. after 20-30 sec it disappeared (While i still had it as target)

then suddenly i saw it fall through (from up above) and down through the tree next to me, and wandered out from there - And THEN i could finally kill it

The wandering forest walkers that can be found meandering through the forest are our next target, <name>. Night elves have enlisted treants as allies to fight against the horde. Their movement may be slow, but their role as protectors is undeniable.
