They can be found in the cave most western placed in The Cauldron. One can easily jump off the cliff side and land next to the cave.

* Him (Kovic) being 50 non elite and does firebolts and rain of fire.
* It (Clunk) a level 48 elite mech-strider.
Kovic drops the Satchel.

I was lvl 60 tier1 2 so can't comment on level of the battle. To me it was easy. But he did eat 3 shadowbolt and some dots.
The way out is filled with lvl 48'ish non elite slaves and golems. Not being packed tight.
Take the elevator one step down, go forth a bit. Take bridge at right hand and you're allmost free again.

Despite Clunk being a Mechanical creature, it's susceptable to Fear.

I was able to solo this as a 48 shadow priest. Good luck.

Dropped in like Sapien said and killed Kovic, but had to run back to my dead body and beg my blueberry to come back to kill Clunk. It wasn't hard - dot, dot, dot, fear, etc. I was a level 48 lock at the time and probably could have killed them both without dying if I'd been a bit smarter about it.

If there was only a way for a non-tailor to aquire that belt and bracers to complete the set..

I soloed this at 55, 300 tailoring. I found out about it a bit later.

First cave from left to right is correct.

His bag, which you get to keep, contains a nice number of shadow silk, some mageweave and money. It made me really happy :)

You need Artisan tailoring for this (225) as the NPC says if you take the time to read the quest log.
Anyways good questing and nice addition to tailoring.

here is how this is soloable by a holy priest..

ok, mind control the human. (obv you cant MC the mechanical bird). DO NOT ATTACK THE BIRD, you want the bird to kill the man. after the bird kills the man you will NOT get credit for killing the man right then, nor will you be able to loot him, but that's ok. now you just have the bird to deal with. use all your spells to kill the bird, which you WILL get credit for killing. now wait about 5 minutes at the most. JUST the man respawns, without his bird. now use all your spells on him. now you will get credit for killing him, and will be able to loot him.

this will complete the quest.

you basically have to do it in 2 parts, but we holy priests arent really the best at killing several mobs at once.

None of the directions above were helpful to me since I don't use co-ords, so I thought I'd post my own.

First of all, looking at your MAP, it is the left-most cave. To get there, all you need to do is jump into the Cauldron from the edge of Firewatch Ridge, then take the elevator down TWO levels. Once there, all you need to do is take the WESTERN path to a small cave; if you don't come to the shallow cave almost immediately when you take the path to your West or there is no path to your West, then you probably need to go either up or down one more level.

There are two gold elite mobs in the cave, but they aren't especially difficult and not tricky at all, so you'll be fine fighting them as long as you know your class. :)

They are in the left-most cave (35, 53). Non-elite (he's got 4500 HP though)humanoid caster lvl 50 and mechanical elite level 48 with 6000+ HP.

As a warlock, I put fear on first one and killed the other one - with no problem - then finished the first guy.

The tailoring requirement is 230. I tried to get the quest at 225 and it wouldn't work.. leveled it up to 230 and then it did.

putting quest at lvl50 for a lvl44 item is rediclous, i hoped to get around this by at least doing it with my high lvl, and mailing the pattern over, but you can't even do that. what is wrong with blizzard to put entire set trainer bought, and put one off to the set requiring quest 6 lvls over the lvl of the item in order to get it? it makes no sense, and looks like some random cruel joke to shadow tailorers.

Just did this as a lvl 49 Warlock, did need to use a soulstone but overall not to hard. But got 4700xp, and 19 Shadow silk's (roughly 6g) and a Lord Defender's cloak.

I did this as a 52 warrior, I had to face the fact I was gonna die once. There was no way I could take both at once. I ran in and started with the gnome, and cast intimidating shout to get rid of the elite. Killed the gnome and died to the elite. Then came back ress'ed and took out the elite by himself.

This is soloable as a 49 shadow priest by killing the trade master first, running away, and coming back and killing clunk. The first part is hardest, fortunately both are susceptible to fear. Just remember to run out of the rain of fire!

I got 15 Shadow Silk, a 7 agility, 8 intellect ring and 29 silver from the bag.

For those of us who aren't DPS class, for example Holy Priests. I soloed this at lvl 55. All you do is MC the little gnome guy and have him waste all his mana on the bird. By the time you're MC runs out of channeling he's nearly dead. I then threw a PW Pain on him and started wailing on the bird. The gnome guy was dead after a few seconds and the bird went down before my first shield ran out cuz he was half dead fighting the gnome from earlier. Presto! Quest done.

The Satchel had some random stuff, and almost 20 Shadow Silk (for me, two stacks 7x and 8x) so the quest is worth it for those alone :)

I've been to her numerous times and she gives no quests. I want the quest for the shadoweave mask, im lvl 48 undead priest with 240 tailoring.

Finally! After two tries and deaths, the third tiem was the charm! xD

Mana Shield -> Frostbolt (Mech) -> Poly the Gnome (Right after you cast and finish the Frostbolt/Fireball) -> Kill Mech (Make sure to repoly the Gnome often) -> Evocation and Bandage up -> Kill Gnome -> Go back and claim your reward!

xD I know it's nothing big but I just wanted to share it. xD Oh, I had to use Evocation and I was a Frost Mage, level 50 of course.

P.S. Yes, it requires 250 Tailoring skill. I was only level 50 because I grind a lot and I didn't look for the Shadoweave Mask Pattern until now. xD

Easy for 50 warlock.

Seduce the gnome. Fear and dot the mechanostrider.

Then fear and dot gnome.

Didn't even use a healthstone.

Coords confirmed. Locate the cave visually and then just jump down fron cauldron edge.

The gnome was easy but the mechanical bird chew through PW:Shield in 2-3 hits even thought it was -12 levels. Definately hard for non-DPS classes to solo.

easy-got 15 shadowsilk, a lil coin, and a trip to gadget for a recipe I wouldnt have used if i was that lvl. fear one/blast the other-makes no real difference which is first

remember to kill the two guys on the way to them first, because elseway you'll need to stay inside the cave what is really ahrd for casters.
I did this as lvl47 mage easely, just sheep the gnome after casting a pyroblast/frost bolt on the mechanical mob. Then nuke the mechanical mob, tips are to use slowing effects like blast wave/frostbolt and when you have him dead resheep the gnome, use evocation and abndage and kill him.
I did this flawless, as a mage you shouldn't have any problem with this quest.

Was easy to solo as a 50 Drain Lock. Used Succubus to charm Kovic, and burned down bird. Then Succubus helped kill caster. Was low on mana, but had plenty of health left over at the end.

If you aren't confident, a mana or health potion might be a good idea.

Completed as Level 46 Demonology lock.

These 2 mobs were 4 levels higher than me so i had to do this in 2 takes. Luckily, it turns out that the mechanical pet can be feared, otherwise i would have probably waited to level up a bit more. Because i used Fear, I took the pre-caution of killing the 2 slave workers along the platform to the lift.

1st stage:
- kept Clunk on fear, used Curse of Tongues on Kovic and only kept Immo and Corruption up while healing pet and re-fearing Clunk as needed. My voidwalker did eventually lose aggro, by which time he was nearly dead, so i sacrificed him and used Fel Domination to insta-summon my succubus to help finish off Kovic with it's higher dps. I had to pull out all the stops to stay alive but got him and quickly looted him before Clunk finished me off.

2nd stage:
- did the corpse run from Thorium Pt (soulstone was on cd), summoned voidy, topped up health and mana, then engaged Clunk before Kovic could respawn. Kept up dots only and healed pet. Once again, my voidy eventually lost aggro when Clunk was down to 25%, so i sacrificed him, summoned my succubus with a normal cast while shield held, and burnt the bird down without too many problems.

Tough fight against higher level mobs but doable if you really want to get that Shadoweave mask in a hurry.

Even though Kovic is not an elite, he is a tough as his elite companion. Not an easy kill (53 Warlock).

To make matters worse, he died inside a wall, so I could not loot him and had to do it all over again.

If you take the elevator from the top at 39,54 it will bring you down to near his cave. You can see him from the elevator.

Pretty easy as 49 warlock.

Just chain feared Clunk and burned down the trade master. Then i dotted up clunk and let them wreck him as i continued to fear him (VW tanked for a bit till he went low).

Easily done on a 54 mage. While overleveled, that's the end of the ZF soloing (and I didn't care to learn Mara/ZG solo leveling route). Quite simple: Poly the guy, then kite the mech with frost nova/CoC. After that, the guy is easy--just put up fireward before you break him from poly. Free 4.7k XP!

For Priests, Kovic can be mind soothed then mind controlled making this rather easy to solo as Clunk can also be feared.

Just solo'd this in hard core on my warlock (level 51).

I focused down the gnome while letting my pet tank the strider. Then I ran backwards and jumped into the elevator to reset the bird. Then I just fear spamed and dotted the bird on the next pull.

Kinda cheesy, but safer.

How to solo as a level 49 SF Warlock on hardcore.

Requirements: Have a Mana Potion and a HealthStone ready. Have a Voidwalker out. Have the ramp before the cave cleared.

Strategy:
1. Send in the Voidwalker to tank Clunk, fear the gnome and dot/wand him to kill him. Try to make the Voidwalker live until the gnome is dead (heal him a bit while killing the gnome).
2. When the gnome is dead, your Voidwalker should be about dead, sacrifice him for a shield.
3. Fear Clunk (keep him feared from now on).
4. Take a mana potion (you're probably very low).
5. Dot and kill Clunk while being mindful of your mana. If you need more mana, Life Tap + Healthstone.
6. That's it.

They call themselves the Undermarket: Cutthroat traders that will sell, move, trade and do just about anything for the right price.

It gets worse, <name>. They have set up a base of operations here in the Searing Gorge. Trade Master Kovic is heading up the operation and has close ties with the Dark Iron dwarves of the region.

We must strike hard and send a message to their leadership. Slay Trade Master Kovic and his minion Clunk. Bring back his trader's satchel when the job is done.
