To start the Goblin or Gnome Engineering quest chain for the Horde, go see Tinkerwiz in Ratchet Tinkerwiz (not sure about alliance, probably the same since it's a neutral area)

If you are like me and took the Gnomish specialization, crafted the BoP items and then re-leveled engineering to take the Goblin specialization, the gnome quest giver in Ironforge won't give you a new quest to go to Gadgetzan for Goblin Engineering. Instead you need to find a book called Book "Soothsaying for Dummies" . This book will ask you which specialization you want to take.

The book is located in Tanaris, just north of Steamwheedle Port in the Gnomish style home of Narain Soothfancy . Just look for the book on top of the table inside.

To start this quest you must be at least level 30 and have your Engineering skill 200+

Full quest chain if you started in Stormwind:

1. Goblin Engineering
2. The Pledge of Secrecy
3. Show Your Work

You now have Goblin Engineering (Alliance)!

Expert engineering yields two distinct disciplines: gnome and goblin. I only bother to mention goblin engineering because I'm a fair trainer. They like to make things that blow up, and they rarely care what is in the way - even themselves.

<name>, read this manual. If you want to learn how to blow yourself up, then take it to Nixx Sprocketspring in Gadgetzan. Remember - membership is permanent and prevents joining the other discipline, so make sure this is what you want before finishing his task.
