I have a funny story to tell about this quest.

On my last server, everybody told me to AVOID this quest because it was such a pain in the neck. And it was. It took me forever to get the stupid bag.

A few months later I migrated to Gnomeregan and "started over from scratch". I realized this morning that I hadn't done any of the Wetlands quests, and there was nobody from the guild on so I decided to load up on them and try to burn through them as fast as possible. After visiting the Greenwarden, I was on my way to assassinate some gnolls when I saw a whelp and remembered that a beloved friend of mine in the guild wanted a whelpling pet, so I spent the next four hours farming whelps.

I got the bag OVER THERE. Like in the 60,40 neighbourhood. NOWHERE NEAR where the quest says to get it from. I was farming whelps when one of the larger oozes jumped on me and I killed it outta self defense and the bag dropped. I just about died laughing.

i usually get the bag within 10 min you just have to kill the higher oozzes in the bottom of the Ironbeard Tomb Tloc 44 25

I hate quests that have weird drop rates! To add another funny story, I was grouped with a friend when we both did this quest -- after about twenty minutes of ooze-killing with still no bag, my friend had to log because he had to go to bed. Now this same friend has been known to stay up overnight for PvP (on his main character) so I needled him and said that he should at least stay to help me get back to town (we were inside that tomb killing oozes there), I mean clearing back up to the entrance would take all of two minutes. But he decided to hearth then and there, telling me he was tired, had to get up early, etc. My own hearthstone was set to Stormwind, and I didn't want to fly back, so I said goodbye and started to clear.

And wouldn't you know it -- the very next ooze I killed dropped the bag! My friend was in Ironforge, about to log, when I decided to rub it in his face and link it a few times. It apparently took him another fifteen minutes to get that bag to drop, later. ^__^

I would suggest accepting the quest and killing oozes while doing your other Wetlands quests.

I just want to say I just did the quest, and I just had to kill like 6 Ooze's and the bag dropped :) and I'm lvl 21.. Peace of cake :D

I found it on the hill close to Greenwarden.
It's at 56,43. But I didn't find it till I killed 6 Black Oozes there.

Anyone saying anything else don't have a clue.

I've done this q 4 times now, this is a random drop. First time I got it after 3 kills. Currently doing the q, and I've got over 100 kills now... :| The thing about higher drop rate behind Green Warden = bull%^&*.

I also believe the bag is just a random drop off any ooze (and NOT the black slimes, if you're killing slimes you're killing the wrong mob even though they look he same). I did this quest 3 times on 3 alts. The first time I did go to the black ooze just south of the Green Warden, and it dropped after a few kills. But it's not alwasys the case. My second time was also a few kills, then a bag drop by the Ironbeard tomb.

My third try, no drop after 50 kills. So I abandon quest and did it again. My second kill by the tomb and the black ooze droped it like it's hot. I believe somehow the bag just doesn't drop, like a glitch or something. Things need to be reloaded or restarted, like abandon quest or log out log in.

I went near the ironbeards toomb, a little east of it and i killed 12 and i got it

Gotta be random... killed two outside the greenwarden and monstruous oozes along the east road like suggested above... nothing happened! Went back to the tomb and killed about 7 and got the bag.

... Raaaandom. I killed about 11 Oozes to get it, including the one where I'd actually (foolishly) followed the instructions to in order to kill that specific Black Ooze, and it's lies. All lies. You may get lucky and get it soon, or you may not and kill hundreds. Sucks, but think of the XP~ ^_^;

i leveled completely through lvl 27 killing nothing but black slimes. i must have killed hundreds and still have not yet gotten a bag...

The ooze you should try and kill is crimson ooze because it has the highest drop rating.........

Dunno if this quest got easier... but it dropped on the 3rd kill...

I remember doing it a year ago and it took me like 2 hours to get the bag. This time... 1 minute LMAO!

Was doing Ormer's Revenge quest and right outside the excavation site killed a black ooze and got the bag 1st try

Dropped on my second black ooze, had even forgotten that I had taken this quest until the little 1/1 popped up on my screen.

Check the around the Black Channel Marsh, that's where I got my drop.

We literally killed every one outside and inside before getting the bag on the last one (down inside the tomb). The only good thing is that it's one of those quests where everyone in the party gets the quest item.

I posted earlier that this quest was EASY! I apologize. I got mine on the first try...but since helping a friend...he's killed about 20 or so and still hasn't found the bag. It's a random drop people and it can be frustrating! Sorry!

First ooze I came across was Black and dropped it right there..
It was hanging out on the road going east towards the dragon area I believe..
Was lurking near the first piece of wrecked siege equipment i ran into..

Just head north out of Menithil, go over the bridge and then go off to the right side of the road(east). Start killing ooze, I got it on the third one so it's not bad.

Took 18 kills for my lvl 28 pally. Finally dropped after I looked on here to find the drop rate. Dropped off a crimson ooze.

Made this Q with three characters and every time it took 40-60 kills to get the bag. Since the damn oozes drop only crap its a double pain.

I on the other hand found this one to be fairly easy and got it off the fourth one I killed. I would try east towards the road. The drops seem to be better there.

Did it with my Lvl 25 Rogue, and then again with my Lvl 23 Hunter last night.

Ironbeard's Tomb is located just east of the west of road on the way to Dun Modr. Just look for the short spur between the swamps and where the hills start.

Killed the Black Oozes (Lvl 22-24) all outside Ironbeard's Tomb. It took about 20-30 kills, but Sida's Bag eventually showed up.

Don't bother going inside the tomb. The Oozes are to close together and have a large agro range. The ones inside are harder. Two other people were doing the quest and several times they ran out training 6-8 Oozes.

Great reward. 2400 XP, 35 silver and a 10 slot bag!

On cosmos, the tomb is at 44,27. I got the bag from the very first black ooze i killed, so i dont know how difficult this was supposed to be.

I've tried this quest on two seperate occassions, both times giving up after hours of no luck.

I don't think it's worth it! If you don't get the bag after about 20-30 minutes, just move on with your life!

killed about 30 so far. All the ones black ooze outside of the tomb were killed at least once, some of the crimson ooze in the tomb killed, and a bunch of oozes up above the tomb and to the sides were killed as well. Still no drops. Where are they supposed to be?

edit: killed all the ozzes 3 times now and still nothing... game bug?

talk about luck i went to 47,24 killed the first black ooze lv24 i saw and it dropped the bag.

might not hurt to start your hunt for the bag there as other ppl have mentioned drops at the location

It took me about a half hour to get this drop, solo hunter at 24. It was pretty easy, although you should watch out for the slightly tougher crimson oozes that hangout in the doorway to the tomb.

I killed a lot of ooze in different place. Was working on Omers Revenge, killing raptors and killed some ooze there and one finally dropped the bag. So, it was in the area where the raptors are...across from where the murlocs are. I guess it is a random thing about where it drops, but maybe that helps someone.

I've killed, no kidding here, every Ooze at the tomb, including inside and downstairs. Twice. (Two different days, figured I gotta be lucky somtime!) No drop. Also ran around killing them across the road, and north as well. Nothing. Random indeed.

Got so frustrated I dropped the quest.

Don't worry so much about killing oozes at the tomb. I did that with an earlier character and it took about 30 minutes and about 30 kills.

I just was in Black Channel Marsh levelling up a weapon on another character and killed a Black Ooze near Menethil Bay. I wasn't even concerned about the loot, but was obviously pleased when the Sida's Bag dropped. Saved me a lot of running back and forth to Ironbeard's.

So just get the quest and kill Black Oozes until it drops, wherever you find them. It's a low drop rate, but since you don't have to wade through the tomb, it can happen along the way to another quest.

3 full respawns of the blacks and I got it. also got some really nice mage stuff for an alt.

also cost me over 400 bullets for my gun.

I hunted Black Oozes for 1.5 hours till I got fed up and went into the tomb to get the grave moss. The third Crimson Ooze had the bag.

The quest is VERY trying n agrravating. I was a lvl 25 warlock n teamed with a lvl 22 dwarf paladin.
I finally got Sida's half-digested bag after killing a black ooze outside. It depends on your luck. Killing crimson slimeballs do not really work cos i tried.

LVL 22 NE Warrior--solo'd this, and it took about 12 kills to get a drop. Some of them were respawning so I thought I'd never get one. :D I never needed to fight a crimson, btw. Bring healing potions or have someone put an agility/armor spell on you if you're less than lvl 23--it'll help.

easy quest for 35 silver and a 10 slot bag... myself 21 hunter, 21 rogue and a 25 rogue easily slayed the black oozes that drop the bag... we killed one around the ruins there and it dropped. probably killed 20 or so oozes before the drop but i heard of others killing 50-100 before getting it. Like i said just hit the ones in the ruins... a black ooze dropped it. good luck

I farmed the black oozes for about two hours, nothing, came back the next day, killed one and got the drop, then an alt got the drop from a red ooze...it's just a matter of preserverence

Got it from a Black Ooze after around 20 mins of killing, killed 4-5 Crimson Oozes too in that time, so my guess is its totally random.

I looked at the drop percentages for the various types of oozes:
Black Ooze 4.73%
Crimson Ooze 4.25%
Monstrous Ooze 2.76%

So the drop is completely random, and blacks actually give a better chance of finding it.

Two nights ago, I cleared all of the Oozes outside of the tomb 4 times in a row and never got it (got good exp at least I guess). Last night, I was clearing the raptors for the excavation quests, and killed an ooze wandering around outside there and got it.

You don't necessarily need to be at the tomb...just need to kill an ooze and hope for the drop. I got mine off of a black ooze.

To find Ironbeard's Tomb take the main road east out of Menethil Bay. When you hit the crossroads heading north toward Dun Modr take that road. On your left side will be an arm of water. As soon as you get past that arm turn left (west) off the road. This dumps you into the tomb area.

The ooze spawn in fair numbers around here. It took a good number of kills to get the bag to drop (took at least 20 kills per, maybe as many as 30). My hunting partner is an herbalist, and she had teh added bonus of finding gravemoss in the graveyard on the west side of the tomb.

The black oozes were 23-24. There is a crimson ooze which lurks in the tomb itself which was level 25.

Ooze did seem to assist each other from a fair distance, so be prepared for adds.

The reward was definitely worth the time -- 2,400 exp, 35 silver and a 10-slot bag, which is currently going for 1 gold or a little more on our server.

Did my time up at Ironbeard's tomb with no success, gave it a break to do other things. Imagine my surprise when Sida's bag dropped off a random ooze near Black Channel Marsh. I was killing raptors and screechers and this ooze was just in my way.

I already did this quest once and had an annoying droprate. After grinding another 2 hours for the bag, I abandoned the quest.

Advice:

- Only take the quest if you are looking for reputation with Ironforge.
- Do the quest if you are in a group.
- Try the quest out and see if the bag drops within the first 10 kills.

If all points above do not apply, avoid the quest like the plague. The reward is only quest experience and a 10-slot bag. Do not waste your time doing this quest.

try the crimson ooze...did this quest while in the group and we all got it very easily...mostly got dropped by the first crimson ooze by the entrance to the tomb...so if the black oozes arent droping it goin the tomb and kill the crimson ones and it might work better

I had to walk to the last lvl of the tomb to get this quest item... kinda sucked but i was getting good experience. About 240 a kill and i did it at a lvl 26 took about 10 mins to clear the whole thing

I killed like 8 of the Dark Ooze things and got nothing off of them,then I went into the Tomb and killed 5 of the stronger ones and got it so thats whatcha get them from.

Evidently, from reading other posts, the location of the drop varies. I killed about 40-50 oozes at the tomb itself (including the crimson oozes inside the tomb) and finally just gave up and headed east on another mission. I killed an ooze that was in my way a long ways east of the tomb and out popped Sida's purse.
So if you can't find the purse quickly at the tomb, head east a ways and try there.

I think a lot of people do this quest for the bag - I sure did. The trouble is, the drop rate varies, from reading these posts. I killed 30-some black oozes outside the tomb (directions in the posts here were good) and didn't get the bag to drop. After I obliterated all the oozes outside the tomb, I figured I'd kill a crimson ooze that wandered out from inside the tomb, and he dropped the bag. If it weren't for the reward, and the fact that the oozes are one of the easier mobs in the zone to kill, this quest would stink.

By the way,my friend,the lvl 22 dwarf pally,said that he killed ONLY 1 ooze n got the bag in another character.
BUT...this time we had to kill 81 oozes before we got her stupid bag! On the bright side i got 1 gold from loot n plenty of herbs.

On my weekly visit to Ironbeard's Tomb I was attacked by dreadful, dripping oozes! Naturally, I panicked.

I threw my bag at one, but it didn't do anything! The ooze just sucked it right up... Luckily, it did give me enough time to get away.

The bad news is that I really need to get the contents of my bag!

I don't know which ooze I threw my bag at; they all looked the same! Ironbeard's Tomb is northeast of here, near Dun Modr. Thank you so much!
