The doll parts do not always spawn in the same place. Each of the buildings in town has at least one spawn point where the doll part can appear.

Also, looting a doll part gives a percent chance of spawning a mob to attack you. I do not remember the name, but I do remember them being hard-hitters.

Found all 3 parts in the same building closest to Pamela.
All in different rooms. A 'ghost from the past' spawns as soon as u get close to the doll parts.
They are lvl55 and had a melee attackspeed decrease spell and frostshock.

2 of the pieces were found in the house next to the quest giver. The third was to the left of the little graveyard.

Don't forget that you have to attach all the pieces before the quest will complete and you can turn in.

When you get within proximity of the quest items, a spawn called "Ghost of the Past" (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/npc=10940) will attack you.

I had the misfortune of all 3 parts spawning in the same house and that spawned 3 Ghosts. Since it's one Ghost per quest item

The items seem to spawn in one of the three houses at random, although their spawn points are static. There are invisible ghosts in the house which you will run into, and looting the dolls will spawn a ghost which will award no experience or loot.

It is possible to loot some doll parts without fighting if you stand outside the house while you loot, but this can be hard to do with some of the houses, as you can't see inside all of the from the outside.

The mobs are called Ghosts of the Past and they spawn when you're taking each one of the doll's parts. For me when i was triing to take last part of it 5mobs spawn and i had to fight them. Very irritating if you're not 54-55 lvl cuz they dodge and parry very often and deal preety much dmg.

There is no set spawn point for the doll parts. You will notice several similar items laying throughout the two houses, however you will be able to interact with certain ones. NOTE: if you rush into the smaller house in the NE part of the town, you will spawn 3 55 Undead at once. Try moving slowly into the smaller house aggro the spawns one, or two at a time, as three at once can be a bit overwhelming.

I found 1 doll piece per house , there are 3 houses so u wont have a problem getting them, except those undead which spawn pretty quickely which u dont get Exp for

from all of these comments i would think u would have realised that there are many spawns for these, they are in all the 3 houses and there is 1 guard for each part of the doll, so if 2 of the parts are beside eachother u will need to figth 2 dudes.

heh! I was working too hard to get the parts expecting the damn quest to say complete when I did. Turns out that I need to assemble the doll. Right click on one of the three parts and then you have a doll!

After reading that there would be 3x lvl 55 when I picked up Pamela's Doll's Left side. I was ready to get my ass kicked. I did the other 2 bits np, so on the left side part I went outside the building and reached in to the gear icon. When I picked up the item I turned into Travel form and ran. I look behind me and there was only 1 ghost and he gave up very soon.

So after all that it was easy.

I tried the quest today but when I entered the house (all tree parts of the doll were inside) und picked up one of them, 5! ghosts spawned. I died after 5 secs...

For heaven's sakes we know by now that there are 3 pieces to the darn doll, that they spawn in different places and that they bring up one to several lvl 55 specters..but once you have the three parts.. what do you do? you click on them to make the whole doll..had to figure it out on my own..
Oh all right so it's not rocket science but still, someone couldve mentioned it :)
And another thing: this is a very depressing quest: that poor little girl all by herself ugh..it broke my heart..really it's creepy..

After completing this quest you can then get the quests Auntie Marlene and Uncle Carlin.

After leaving Pamela, go to the house right at the bottom of the hill. Go upstairs and you will find a piece of a doll with flies swarming around it. Upon looting it, a ghost will pop. Not hard, only lvl 55.

Now go outside the house and go to the house with no roof on the other side of the graveyard. There you will find what seems to be the last 2 pieces, but one is actually a decoy. The one closes to the door is the decoy and the one in the back is the real one. When you approach either one, a lvl 55 ghost will appears so don't go running from one to the other without killing the ghost first.

Exit the house again and go to the house to the right. 2 decoys one real one. The real one is in the back of the room in the center. The 2 on the side are decoys. Same thing, ghosts pop up at each one. Take caution here if you are 55-57. The room is small so you might aggro all three ghosts.

After you get all three, you need to put them together before you can turn in the quest.

I got 1g 68s for this. Not sure on the xp though, cause I'm lvl 60.

The pieces should look like they have insects buzzing over them. You need to get close enough to the pieces for the gear to just turn yellow, loot and run up the road. You should be able to loot before the undead agro. The undead don't follow very far up the road. But if you do disturb the undead, it takes a while for them to disapear again.

Everytime you go over a piece of...(looks like crap) with flies a ghost appears. Not really hard but keep in mind you have full HP/MP.

Solo'd as a lvl 53 mage, all the parts were inside the houses and as soon as you enter a "Ghost from the Past" will pop up and attack you. If you're fast they are an easy kill.

If you're hunter, forget anout all written here and do the following:
1. place "ice cube" trap near the part of the doll
2. grab the part, turn aspect of cheetah on and get out
3. Repeat with another part of the doll

The first building to the right had 2 pieces. Each had a lvl 55 ghost I had to kill. The first one caught me by surprise b/c I didn't expect it to appear till after I tried to loot the doll. The 2nd one I expected so I dropped my totem drawing aggro and it pulled the ghost off me long enough to loot the doll. Just frost shocked, ran, dropped earthbind, and lost aggro.

The 3rd part was a house to the left and it was tricky cuz 2 of them were in there. They beat up my totem too quick for me to pull aggro long enough to loot. So I tried a few different things with no luck. Then 2 lvl 50ish alliance came by and went into the building and drew the aggro. So I decided to do the same thing alliance has always done to me with chests and such and stole the loot while they had the aggro =D They both put their flags on and started doing /chicken but I just laughed at em and carried on with the quest ^_^

This was easy, all the parts are in the houses near little pamela, when I clicked on the cog to pick the doll parts up, a lvl 55 ghost tried it on. I soloed as a 51 pala-ret spec

Level 52 Warrior, with frankly awesome leggings (Earthforged) and not bad other stuff. I got Crystal fueled (having just been to Un'Goro) and approached the houses.

Two of them will be on the left as you face the house, one will be ynder a set of stairs. I got a Ghost Of The Past (level 56 Undead) as I approached the first one, but killed it barely... its Chill was pretty bad for me. I got the doll's head after killing it.

For the second house, I used a Magic Resistance potion and crept up. On the stoop I was able to Open the doll's left side, which then spawned the ghost. I fought it again and did better this time, down to perhaps 1/3 health.

For the third house I renewed my protections and crept inside. After opening the doll's R side two ghosts jumped me. Seeing where this was going, I turned and ran. The ghosts didn't go past the town gates! I think if you merely run away after grabbing the part, you'll be OK.

Of course I died going through the town that lies between Pamela and Light's Hope Chapel, but I managed to get my corpse far enough away so that I could dezone the undead. Oh, and thanks to whichever Alliance heroes won all four towers; that extra 5% against Undead (Echoes of Lordarean) no doubt helped too.

This quest is impossible to sols if you are a rogue, at least when all 3 parts are in the same building. You will be attacked by 3 ghosts and you are not even able to kill one before you get killed yourself. Tried it at lvl 57 and failed several times.

1. One location of Pamela's Doll's Left Side is upstairs in the house closest to Pamela: 38, 92
A level 55 non-elite Ghost of the Past (easily killable by reasonably equipped level 54/55 or 56 char) will appear when you get near the item.
2. A location of Pamela's Doll's Head is also upstairs in the next room: 38, 92
A level 55 Ghost of the Past will also appear here when you get right next to the item.
3. A location of Pamela's Doll's Right Side is also upstairs in the same room: 38, 92
Once again, level 55 Ghost of the Past will appear when you get right next to the item.
This can also show up at loc 39, 92 in the house without the roof.

The head, right and left sides can also appear at loc 39, 90 on the bottom floor of the house there. This is where 3 of the Ghost of the Past's can appear and will probably take more than one player to kill them. However, if you're careful, you can fight them one by one just by moving to the doll piece instead of in the middle of the room.
The head can also appear at loc 37, 92 at the bottom floor of the house closest to Pamela.
Loc 38, 92 at the bottom floor of the house closest to Pamela is also a location where a piece may be.

If a piece is not at any of the locations listed, the Ghost of the Past will not be there. So the easiest way to do this is look into the houses and if you see a piece over in the corner or something, you know a Ghost of the Past will spawn when you get there and can be ready to take him.

A group of level 52's can easily take out the Ghost of the Past. No experience is given when killed and nothing is available to pick up from them when they die.

Just a note to those that post on these message boards: Many have said it in the past, if you're going to post on these boards, no one friggin cares how you killed the ghosts. No one friggin cares about what equipment or how elite you think you are. No one friggin cares about any of that really except where to get the piece the quest is looking for. This is the information most people are reading these message boards for. Sure, some information about how easy or hard the quest mob is to kill is important, but not paragraphs about how bad you think you are because you used some skills that you think no one else in the game could ever think of and you post about how you achieved something that you think no one else can do. No one cares about that crap. Just post where the item the quest is looking for and it will help the community much more.

If you're a rogue and you don't wanna fight the 55 mobs that guard the pieces, walk up to the pieces and spawn the ghosts, blind them the click the pieces right away, and sprint the hell out as soon as you loot, did this quest at level 50, took me about 15 minutes for all 3 do to cooldown on blind.

Soled at 57 Rogue. I stayed stealthed, walk over the piece (don't loot) and fought one ghost, then looted. Easy!

As of a patch a while back, you can't click through the walls anymore - BUT! for the left side of the doll (that spawns 2/3 ghosts), if you stand just to the right of the door, against the wall and swivel around, you can still get the gold cog without entering the house

Approaching the village, there's a small house on the left. Enter that and 2 Ghosts of the Past appear, both level 55 that usually chill and frost shock you and deal damage between 160-250, particularly annoying. I wasn't aware of that and dragged them outside, entangled one while I barkskinned myself and fought the other in cat form (no, I didn't get enough rage in bear to handle only one), cast nature's swiftness for a quick heal and fought the other.

I went in, looted 1/3 parts and then another level 55 appeared so I fought him and waited for my mana.

I clicked the 2nd part to loot it and ... another appearance to fight. Looted the part and then attempted the last one ... and the last appearance came.

Total : 4 guys to kill and 3 doll parts. Lovely!

2800xp and no reputation adjustment.

it takes some time.. but a level 51 druid can do it with the right tactics
just use bearform, use faerie fire (bear) and demolizing roar every now and then
stun him when you need to heal yourself, and once in the combat you can use an enrage+the frenzy regenerate

This was really easy as a priest. Click on one peice, ghost appears, shackle him. Collect the doll peice, then defeat ghost. Repeat for other two. Just be creful to watch for Allies when you come outside.

This quest was easy just pick up the doll parts up then back out far enough to use my gun. No problem at all!

The three parts appear randomly in the 3 houses. No part is always going to be in the same place.

I had two parts left which I found in the smallest of the houses; unfortunately, there were three ghosts in there guarding them.

I went to the biggest house and found them upstairs with only one ghost guarding.

Do the following steps when going after the parts:
1) Before approaching or attempting to get the piece, make sure your health is at full.
2) Grab the piece expecting a ghost to show up and interrupt you before getting the piece.
3) Defeat the ghost.
4) Reheal yourself.
5) NOW pick up the piece.

And repeat accordingly :)

Just a note, the ghosts will attack you before you attempt to pick up the item, but they are right next to each item.

I also found a 'fake' doll piece laying on the ground in the building. I went to it and fought the ghost, but couldn't pick up the piece, a few feet away was the real piece with another ghost.

Completed at lvl 50 with NE druid, 2800xp, and that's it. I'd run up, aggro the ghost, run away until aggro dropped, and then come back, poke him with a moonfire, and then root him. Go in, grab the doll, and run away again. Got 2 from one building (the smashed building), and the third from the little house. Easy enough, if I don't try to kill the ghosts.

Quest was easy as a lvl 55 rogue.

All the parts were in the same house (small cottage on left-hand side as you approach the village). As you approach a part (get within range to perform Opening on it), a lvl 55 Ghost of the Past will spawn. I approached each part in stealth very slowly, and found that if you're slow enough, the ghost will spawn, but not even aggro on you. This allowed me to handle each ghost one at a time, in addition to getting the jump on them (i.e. perform an opener from stealth).

I picked all these up outside the buildings. run in and find them, go outside and move to the bldg until the "gear" turns gold. you'll still see the text " Ghost of the Past says: Leave this place!" but you still get the piece, no agro, no fighting, easy quest.

It took a few tries...Ok, a lot of tries, but I finally did this one on my own...

For the first two ghosts I used Combustion to hit them hard right off the bat, and also Mana Shield and Frost Shield will help out against these ghosts...

For the last part in the smaller house, I almost had the one killed then another one popped up, so be careful of that...What I had to resort to was waiting till they both were gone, running up to the doll then out of the house (but still close to the door), using Frost Nova to keep him there, then running back in to get the doll part...

You don't have to try to loot the doll piece to aggro a ghost, so be careful. Pretty easy to just straight up kill the ghosts, if you're within their levels.

Possibly the easiest quest i've ever completed, i slowly moved my mouse over the building until i seen the item then walked up to the wall from outside and collected each piece without having to enter the building.

Had to fight 3 ghosts in total,found it easier running in quickly then going back out.that way u only get one ghost at a time,kill ghost walk in get first part etc.Soloed as lev 52 paladin.

have no idea why this &*!@ isn't elite. i had 1 part left to collect and it had %^&*ign 3 spirits appearing. its impossible to kill both of them. warrior, 53. dont !@#$ing try doing it on this level if you're warrior

But I've been here for a long time, and he hasn't come for me. Sometimes bad people come and whisper to me and I want my dad to make them go away, but he's not here!

And sometimes when it gets dark I want to play with my doll but I can't because I left it in town.
